Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because the company's response does not accurately address the situation: 1) The reference to the level of insurance coverage is not applicableThe insurance covered personal property damage while the physical damage was to real property, our house floor, so the insurance purchased would not cover the damage caused by the company personnel 2) While we did procure insurance on July 30, 2015, Right Turn Moving also did not tell us until June 16, (months later) that their insurance company would not cover the damage, so again the reference to the level of insurance coverage is irrelevant 3) Right Turn Moving initially offered us just $to cover the damage, even though we had submitted one flooring repair estimate from a reputable company of $2,Subsequently, their offer was raised to $but when we had another flooring estimate provided by a second reputable company, the new estimate was still $1, While Right Turn lists two websites with average repair costs, we had two experts provide estimated repair costsIf they wish, they can have another contractor provide a third estimate and settle Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because even though the company states that they are working to resolve the complaint with the DOJ, they are doing no such thing. First, they keep citing their insurance policy which covers personal property and we are talking about damage to real propertySecond, they keep insisting that the amount offered is fair when it only covers 30% of the cost provided by two separate, independent professional estimatesThird, we have proposed that they send out their own floor person to provide an estimate and they have not done so to dateIf they are truly sincere about resolving the matter then they need to work with us in good faith instead of making a proposal based on their own ideas that do not address the actual damage done by their staff.Sincerely,*** ***

The customer send me an email last week stating check had not been received We replied within the week With an update that a check had already been sent to herWe confirmed it had yet to be cashed and sent to customer a new check. We did pay the full amount the customer
requested

Client filed the same complaint with the department of justice. We are now working with them to resolve this matter.

On April 27, 2016 we received a claim from the customers regarding the damaged floor. After reviewing the claim, as well as the customers’ bid, we were willing to pay for “repair only”, which is our company’s policy. We offered $600, which is higher than the average for floor repair. According to...

Home Advisor the average cost to repair a floor is $181-475, and Homewise.com states that the average is $387.86.

Unfortunately, there are rare occurrences in which damage happens during the moving process, and we always make every effort to rectify the situation with our customers.

We also feel it should be noted that the floor bid that was sought out by the customer states that the existing flooring has cracking from expansion and recommends a humidifier.

At Right Turn Moving, we offer three options for loss and damage protection on all of our moves based on state guidelines, which are outlined in detail below. The customer did choose Option 1 with their service, which is in writing with their initials.

Consumers Guide to Moving quote
Movers must assume some level of liability for loss or damage to your belongings during your move. Your mover’s liability will likely be less than the value of your goods. The mover is not liable for the full value of your property unless you pay an additional charge for that protection.
OPTION 1 – Basic Value Protection
Option 1 provides the minimum level of liability a mover may assume when moving your belongings. The mover’s maximum liability for the entire shipment is 60 cents per pound for the total shipment.
Coverage: The mover will pay at 60 cents per pound for each lost or damaged article. Example: if a two-pound vase were broken, you would be paid $1.20.
Cost: You do not pay extra for this coverage.

OPTION 2 – Replacement Cost Coverage, with deductible
Option 2 provides full coverage, less a $300 deductible. The mover’s maximum liability is your declared value of the belongings, or $5.00 times the weight of the total shipment, whichever is greater (less the $300 deductible).
Coverage: The mover will repair the damage to your satisfaction, pay you for the lost or damaged articles (less the $300 deductible), or replace the lost or damaged article for any amount over the $300 deductible. The $300 deductible applies to the entire shipment rather than each individual article.
Cost: The mover may charge minimum of 55 cents and a maximum of $1.15 per $100 of declared value. Declared value may not be less than $5.00 per pound of the total shipment weight.
OPTION 3 – Replacement Cost Coverage, with no deductible
Option 3 provides full value replacement coverage for your belongings. The mover’s maximum liability is your declared value, or $5.00 times the weight of the total shipment weight, whichever is greater. Coverage: The mover will repair damage to your satisfaction, reimburse you for the replacement cost, or replace lost or damaged articles.
Cost: The mover may charge a minimum of 66 cents and a maximum of $1.40 per $100 of your declared value. Declared value may not be less than $5.00 per pound of the total shipment weight.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because the company's response does not accurately address the situation:
1) The reference to the level of insurance coverage is not applicable. The insurance covered personal property damage while the physical damage was to real property, our house floor, so the insurance purchased would not cover the damage caused by the company personnel.
2) While we did procure insurance on July 30, 2015, Right Turn Moving also did not tell us until June 16, 2016 (11 months later) that their insurance company would not cover the damage, so again the reference to the level of insurance coverage is irrelevant.
3) Right Turn Moving initially offered us just $150 to cover the damage, even though we had submitted one flooring repair estimate from a reputable company of $2,200. Subsequently, their offer was raised to $600 but when we had another flooring estimate provided by a second reputable company, the new estimate was still $1,800.
While Right Turn lists two websites with average repair costs, we had two experts provide estimated repair costs. If they wish, they can have another contractor provide a third estimate and settle.
Sincerely, [redacted]
