Right Way Industries, Inc. Reviews (1)

We hired this company to put Epoxy flooring down on our garage. Once the flooring was completed, we had a professional decal company come to put a vinyl decal on the floor. Right Way Industries was well aware of our plans for this decal and assured us there would be no problems with the flooring taking to the decal. Once the decal company put the decal down and started to take the adhesive backing off, the Epoxy flooring instantly started to peel off the floor. To be sure it wasn't their product, the decal company had us get [redacted] tape to apply to an area away from the decal spot. When the [redacted] tape was applied and peeled, the flooring instantly came up with this tape. In the areas the Epoxy has come up, it does not look like the original concrete was prepped AT ALL before putting the Epoxy down. The Epoxy is also crackling in the areas where cracks were sealed in the concrete as "prep work". When we contacted one of the business partners about these problems, he did not have time to discuss the issue with us and said he would call us back that night. We did not hear back from anyone until almost 24 hours later. Excuses were used, such as being busy with other jobs, and time was not available to even have a small discussion over our complaint. After discussing the issue finally, an agreement was made for us to get a full refund for the faulty work on our floor. Later that night, the other partner called to discuss the issue, trying to argue that there was no problem with their craftsmanship, and ended up (very unprofessionally) hanging up on us. It was agreed that the money would be delivered in person. The next day, we received a text message saying it was mailed to us instead. Along with the flooring problem, they got BLACK Epoxy paint all over our WHITE baseboards and are not responding to our requests to fix this issue. We also requested they fix the floor and were refused that, due to them refunding our money. This now leaves us with extra cost out of our pocket to fix their mistakes.Desired SettlementWe would like for this company to come and fix the problems with the baseboard and sand their poor craftsmanship off our concrete, or else compensate us for having to pay to get these things fixed. Business Response Thank you for allowing us to respond to this complaint. The customer contacted us about painting his garage floor with epoxy paint. We responded the next day with all materials necessary to complete project. Upon arrival the customer told us that the garage was not ready to be painted because other painters had not finished painting the baseboards. He asked us to come back later and we agreed. Also, he told us, for the first time, that he wanted the floor to be black- not the usual gray. When I mentioned that I did not think they made the product in black he assured me that [redacted] carried it. We exchanged the materials, bought black epoxy paint from another manufacturer, and waited for him to call back. That afternoon we returned and began preparing the floor. We acid etched and broomed the entire floor. We scrubbed the oil stains, rinsed the whole floor with water, and shop vacuumed everything up. We then applied expansion membrane filler to the cracks and expansion joints. Finally, we applied a layer of thin-set mortar to the area near the wall which was about 1/4" lower than the rest of the floor. We came back on Monday (2 days later) to finish painting. We applied 2 layers of epoxy paint. The next day the customer requested that we come back and apply another layer because the cracks were not hidden well enough in his opinion. We applied a layer to the "trouble" areas and then a fourth layer to the entire floor to blend it in. We also agreed to do the clear coat layer for no extra charge in order to keep the customer happy. The next day someone came and applied a decal to the area near the entrance to the room. The paint came up as they were completing the decal installation. The paint requires a 5-7 day cure time before the application of something like this. The customer was very upset and refused to allow us to explain what happened or to repair the damaged spot. He insisted on getting his money back and we agreed. A check was sent priority mail the next day with tracking number provided to the customer. Customer cashed the check a few days later. We feel that we have done all that we could reasonably be expected to do under the circumstances and more than we agreed to do. We are out the cost of the materials (hundreds of $) plus the cost of labor for employees and travel expenses (job is out of town). We honored our money back guarantee as we always do.
