Rin Robyn Pools

Review: Rin Robyn Pools was hired to replace the tile in my pool. They contracted the job out and those people thought that they were also resurfacing the pool so they ripped out a lot of the existing pool surface.

When I told them they were only replacing the tile, they patched the holes in the pool with a substance that disinigrated over the course of the summer.

Rin Robyn pools never paid those guys and refused to answer my calls or refund my money.

Now the pool has to be completely resurfaced and the tile completely replaced.Desired Settlement: I will withdraw my complaint if they give me my money back! They never paid the guys to do the work anyway and I have to pay 3 times that amount to have my pool fixed now!

Review: I contacted Rin Robyn to repair my Jacuzzi. I was told there was a several week back log and that it would not be immediate, but that they would call to make an appointment prior to coming. I expressed the importance of calling prior as we have a large aggressive dog that needs to be locked up prior to any personnel's arrival. I told them I was not concerned with the wait, I was not in a rush. They never called. Three weeks later, while sitting in my living late in the afternoon, I noticed a man dismantling my Jacuzzi. I asked him who he was and he stated the repair man. I explained that no one ever called prior as explained, but that I was glad to see him. He stated - "that's the way we work." After approx. 20 minutes he left. Prior to his departure, he explained that he identified a part that was broken, most likely from freezing and an improper winterization. He said he would need to order the part and come back and replace it. The front panel was left off of the Jacuzzi and the screws (approx. 20) were left strewn about the patio. No one returned or called for approx. 10 days. The screws are now gone - mostly and the panel remains unsecured. He did eventually show up - again unannounced and replaced the part. He was there approx. 25 minutes. He indicated to me that I needed to clean the inside of the Jacuzzi and fill it with water and that he would be back in a few days. I cleaned the Jacuzzi the next day. The Jacuzzi is still not holding water and leaks. He never returned. I never received a follow up phone call from him or Rin Robyn. During this time, my credit card was charged for 294.86. Wondering what was going on I contacted the facility and was met with immediate resistance but [redacted] admitted that they should not have charged my credit card as the work was not done. She said she would "check everything out" and get back to me. I heard nothing for approx. 10 days.Desired Settlement: . I am not contesting the 105 dollars for the part that was placed in my Jacuzzi. I can see that part and agree they added it. I do however believe that the labor should be refunded based on the following facts: 1. the Jacuzzi is not repaired and the job was not done. In fact the Jacuzzi is in worse shape then when they started. 2. [redacted] admitted to me that I should have never been charged as the job was not complete. 3. Customer service ([redacted] has failed to call me back two times. Both times I contacted her, I had to initiate return calls to her - both after 10 day delays. [redacted] agreed to refund half of the labor and "be done with me" in her words. I told her that that was not acceptable because I either need the Jacuzzi repaired or at a minimum the labor reimbursed since I am now in worse shape that I was before. Since that agreement to refund half, the company has sent me a letter detailing their work and stating that they will not refund anything.

Response:

At the time of initial service request, [redacted] was told that during the busy summer season specific appointments cannot be scheduled, but that work is done based on geography, weather, and availability. He was made aware of the Service Call fee of $165 + tax and that the fee was exclusive of any necessary parts. [redacted] provided an Authorization Form with his credit card information and signature.

At the time of the Initial Service Call it was determined by our Service Technician that the Flow Switch was broken. [redacted] was advised by our Technician that no further diagnostics would be useful without the replacement of the Flow Switch; he approved ordering and replacing the part. At the second Service Call, the Flow Switch was replaced by our Technician. [redacted] was advised by our Technician to clean out the debris from the spa, including the hornets nest, fill the spa with water, and to call Rin Robyn to confirm when this was completed. He was again advised that a return visit would not be a specific scheduled appointment.

As per the Authorization, [redacted] was charged for the work that was completed, specifically the initial diagnostic Service Call and the replacement Flow Switch. He was not charged additional labor for the ordering, pick-up, delivery, second Service Call, and installation of the Switch.

On the telephone, [redacted] was rude, belligerent, and unwilling to participate in a two-way conversation with [redacted] and subsequently with me. At no time did he state that the spa was cleaned and filled, nor did he tell us that it was leaking. He referred to our Service Technician as a 'buffoon' and was judgmental about the Technician's attire. It was not possible to have a professional dialogue with [redacted], Manager, Rin Robyn Pools.
