her complaint. I told her that I would pull the records and review them and call her back. Later that day I called her back and explained that our staff did make contact with her and gave her a simple verbal trauma assessment and documentation was correct. She was very upset explaining that they did nothing of the sort and our staff told her that she would not get an ambulance bill. Our staff obtained a signature on the care report and it was filed with our company and the state of North Dakota Department of Health that day. The plaintiff received a service fee of $150.00 for services and documentation to provide for her insurance company. She refused to do so. She claims that this is fraud. I told her it was not fraud and this is a standard practice for most all ambulance services in North Dakota. She was extremely upset and there was no way to calm her down. She explained that she instructed the insurance company not to pay the fee and was told that they refused to do so anyways. She also went on to say that she will be contacting the Revdex.com regarding this and that she would rather die than call our ambulance service. She requested to have the fee waived and I told her I would. I called our billing department and held the fee. I also called her insurance company and explained the problem. They informed me that they would pay the service fee and that there was no problem doing this. They are familiar with this practice and have no issue with it. I refused to have them process the fee. The plaintiff also made the statement that she repeatedly called our offices with no answer and then drove 30 miles to confront someone. Our staff was out of the offices answering other ambulance calls. She was extremely upset about this and felt it necessary to make that complaint. I am taking time out of my busy day to respond back to your agency and hope that you inform me that there will not be a negative feedback attached to our company file.
