RE: Rio Auto Group’s Response
Complaint: ***
The reasons I am rejecting are written below along with attachments of my accounts:
Rio Auto Group agreed
to pay $of the $600.00+ repair cost (see
attachment #1) since it was an “as is” contract he (manager) noted we are not
obligated after I made several complaints about the major mechanical problems
this *** *** we purchased from them on Nov30th, 2014. Believing that was the only major problems
with this SUV, very shortly after to our utter dismay we continued to have inconsistent
heating and engine problems. I never cashed the check Rio Auto Group
sentAfter the original agreement in which
I noted in this complaint and since I filed this complaint we have had
additional breakdowns on the interstate in extreme cold weather with a newborn
infant in the car despite making multiple repairs. In mid-January, I took it to a different
mechanic after still having major problems and his diagnostics report is
attached (see attachment #2) stating
that there are systematic problems with this vehicle as well as the alternator
is bad
Just recently as of last
Thursday (Feb5th) while taking my mother-in-law to Dulles Airport
the car overheated once again for the fourth
time since we brought this SUV back in Nov30th, 2014. We had to get the car towed to a mechanic located
in Manassas Park, VA. In his diagnostic
report (see attachment #3), where he
states the engine needs to be replaced because the engine heads are no
good. That cost will be over $
dollars. He states that coolant was
leaking into the engine. The engine oil
was full. The motor being damaged was
not because we did not do the proper maintenance. The mechanic also mentioned this problem was
more than likely happening before we purchased this SUV over months ago. This experience has been the worst my wife
and I have ever been though. We are the
most dissatisfied with this defective product Because of the deception and misleading
information given me involved with the sale of this product (SUV) their “as-is”
should be voided. I am praying sincerely that the Lord
will move upon these people’s hearts to do right and just thing in refunding all the
money so we can move on and try to recover from the financial stress this
experience has left us with And yet, we
are still without a family car
Regards,

Review: I purchased a 2006 [redacted] from Rio Auto Group on October 4,2014. When looking at the vehicle I asked about having my mechanic inspect it. I live about 45 miles away & it was a Saturday. The salesman did not approve this. I took the vehicle to the [redacted] dealership on 10/7 am to get a replacement key (Rio agreed to pay for 1/2 the cost of the key) & an inspection, they reported multiple problems with the vehicle including leaking oil, torn control arm bushings, and loose tie rods. I spoke with the salesman at Rio Auto Group, Shawn C., that same day & he said to send him the paperwork - they would work something out & not to contact the warranty company (I had purchased an extended warranty). I called the next morning at 9am & left a voice mail, I called back at 12 noon & spoke with Shawn C. he said to give him a couple hours, I called back at 4pm, he said they were still trying to work something out & I asked when to expect this - he said he would call back that night, I asked if he had my number (as he had yet to call me back prior), he said yes. I never heard back from anyone at Rio Auto Group. I tried calling one more time & got no answer. I believe they were just putting me off to get past the 72 hours the law gives you to return the vehicle. I contacted the Warranty company, they said these were covered repairs but it was an "early claim" so they would have to send an adjuster/inspector to look at the vehicle to approve it. After inspecting the vehicle they said it was all pre-existing & therefore not covered. They are filing a complaint against the dealership for selling a vehicle with these problems. I have yet to ever hear anything from Rio Auto Group. Their pre-sale inspection should have found these problems & they should have been repaired prior to sale. The repairs have been quoted by the [redacted] dealership to cost over $2200.00. I have not yet gotten a quote from another local repair shop but plan on doing so this week. I need a remedy to this situation.Desired Settlement: I would like them to pay for repairing the vehicle at either the [redacted] dealership or a repair shop local to me. Along with paying for the replacement key as promised (1/2 the cost of the key).
