it was brought to the guardian's attention that if there was ever a concern of safety while on a field trip, we would require a family chaperone.The grandmother who was one of the guardians, and who dropped off most of the time, was who the teachers communicated with daily.  She was made aware that a chaperone would be necessary on the next field trip due to the child's recent behavior and for safety reasons.  When she attempted to drop the child off without a chaperone the next day, she was reminded of the discussion the day before the trip. The other guardian, Ms. [redacted] felt that there was a lack of communication and was unhappy with the situation.We feel that the grandmother who was the main person dropping off had a lack of communication with Ms. [redacted]. Our policy clearly states that a two week notice is required, but in light of the situation, we waived the two week notice. We feel that we were being fair and reasonable since we had communicated clearly what would be required in order for the child to attend the field trip.Please call me personally if you have any questions.
