Rippert's Custom Tailoring Reviews (2)

August 30, 2015Dear *** ***:*** *** *** came into my Tailor Shop with her Wedding Gown that she had recently purchasedShe was visibly upset, stating that the Gown did not look like the one she had ordered based on the fitThey had recommended that she come to me to get the Gown fitted
She continued to voice her displeasure with the GownI advised her to return to the retailer and try to get the correct one she had Ordered, as this would be the most economical way to fix her problem and make her happy with the fitAfter continued conversation, and her still venting her displeasure, I again advised her to return the Gown, explaining that it would cost her a considerable amount of time, due to numerous Fittings that would be needed, as well as the corresponding financial outlay. At this point *** *** again became upset, and pleaded with me to fix her GownIn my past experience this is the reaction of a Customer who had purchased the Gown '' I preferred not to do this Gown for the reasons stated above, which I had explained to herI agreed to do the Gown for her, and proceeded with the initial fitting, and the planning for future fittings that would be needed, all worked in a timely fashion around her Wedding dateI also fully explained how she would be charged for my time and work, and gave her the price, to which *** *** agreed. Each time *** *** returned for another fitting she was unhappyAlthough the Gown was done exactly as fitted, she wanted an inch or half an inch in or out on numerous occasionsThis required many extra fitting sessions, far more than the average BrideAt her final fitting the Gown looked exquisite on her, a look of which any Bride would be proudShe was very pleased with the final OutcomeShe then reached her arms up in the air Over her head, and she asked if I could do anything with the way the Gown looked bunched up at the topI advised her that if it was altered to accomplish that, it would take away from the look with her arms at her sideI told her thather arms above her head would be a temporary, unnoticeable movement, and that altering it at that location would take away from the integrity of the GownI told her that I would not want to ruin the Gown by attempting this. She stated that she may take the Gown elsewhere to see if they would make this changeShe paid me for my work, and she left very pleasedWe hugged each other as I wished her all the best on her Wedding, and I assisted her with the Gown to her vehicle.I was then contacted by her via email alleging problems with her GownIt was the same issue she had brought up at her final fitting, which we had discussed, and which I had told her that it could not be doneI repeatedly asked her to Call me Via telephone to discuss her issuesShe finally responded with an email stating that she was too upset and overwhelmed with the Wedding to call or see meI would have gladly Corrected any problems with the Gown*** *** never called me before the Wedding. After the Wedding, *** *** claimed in an email that the Bustle on her dress had come down On the day of the WeddingI had advised her against leaving a small Train on the Gown with the Bustle up, explaining that someone could walk On the Train, defeating the main purpose of a BustleShe insisted on leaving a small Train when it was bustledShe finally did call me, and she was very demeaning and demandingShe stated that she wanted the sum of $ in reimbursementI sternly disagreed with her assessment that any of her alleged problems were due to my work, and that $ she alleged to have paid to another person to correct what I advised her I would not do, as it would not be in her best interest, was her own decision, and had already been agreed when she had picked up the Gown.I have done hundreds of Gowns from this retailer over the years, as they refer all or most of their clients to me for alterationsI have never had claims such as the ones made by *** ***, nor has any one complained to the retailer about my workThis is the first time anyone has complained to the Revdex.com regarding my workAs a small business owner for over twenty five years in this line of work I would gladly fix any problem that arose in the interest of my customers' satisfaction*** *** would not respond to my emails to call me before her WeddingI am confident in my workIn this instance I do not believe that *** ***'s claims are legitimateIf there were any problems with the Gown after it left my shop they were due to the actions of *** ***, or whoever she had taken the Gown to for further alteringI did all within my power to treat *** *** fairly, and to please herI did as promised at the agreed upon price.I respectfully ask that these unsubstantiated claims not be used against my stellar reputation.Sincerely,Kathleen R
