Rise Above Remodeling Reviews (11)

I’m writing to find out how the resolution to my dispute (complaint # ***) with Rise Above is progressing At this point, I have only received the response submitted in which they sincerely apologize for the unsatisfactory experience Nice of them to apologize, however, we still have yet to hear from anyone as to how the bathroom situations are to be resolved As mentioned in my previous email, my first option was to have them come back to my home and resolve these issues At this point though, if there is any way we can explore other options available to us as it appears there is no intent on their part to contact us If we can have someone else come and look at the unresolved issues, evaluate the situation and get these completed we would be absolutely open to this Either way, please let us know what you believe to be the best option for us.Thanking you once again,*** *** *** ***

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedbackWe strive to always be upfront and honest in every single step of the remodeling process with our clientsYour estimate was brought to my attention for review multiple timesAfter much deliberation with our designer, it seemed that we
would not be able to complete the scope of work within the budget you had expressedThere were also other details that were honestly out of our specialty nicheWe always do our best to help everyone to the fullest extent of our capabilities, but we don't always fit everyone's needs as much as we wish we couldWe realized that we would not be able to perform the work that was being asked of us and as a result we respectfully declinedI do apologize for any time lost while we diligently searched for a solution and I appreciate your incite and honest review as it helps us gain better knowledge on how we could have done things differently to accommodate our past, present and future clientsI do hope that you are able to find someone to complete the scope of work that you are looking to have completedThank youBest regards, Skyler B

The owner Brett B[redacted] told me on the phone he would personally come out to get to the bottom of the "miscommunication" by his "designer" Colton and put me on the phone w/ a girl to make an appointment. Not only did he fail to show up, he failed to even make the professional courtesy to call and let us know. He failed to respond to multiple calls that we were told would be returned. Now we are even 4 more weeds behind schedule and have to move in to an uncompleted home. Not even the courage to call or the decency to explain. Very disappointing and huge waste of time and resources.

Please see below taken directly from our Revdex.com portal:We sincerely apologize for the unsatisfactory experience working with Rise Above Remodeling. We try our best to perform every job with the intention of exceeding our customers expectations. Thank you for your honest feedback as it helps us continue...

to grow and take necessary action to eliminate any issues that cause unsatisfactory customer experiences.

The initial meeting with [redacted] was an extremely uncomfortable situation (customer was drinking). Our designer gave him a verbal estimate while at his house. [redacted] called our designer a couple of days later and our designer again gave him an verbal estimated price. He did not like the price and started arguing with (and yelling at) the designer. The designer tried to get the price down and explain why our prices are what they are (based on the materials and work he was requesting) Customer was again not satisfied, but kept calling us asking for an estimate. Our designer kept giving him a verbal estimate, and the customer kept arguing with him. Eventually we could see that no agreement on price was going to happen, and with the attitude and aggressiveness the customer was portraying we decided to send him an email respectfully declining the job. It is very important to us to create a positive, professional environment for our designers. Of course you always have challenging customers, but [redacted] was proving to be more and more unprofessional, aggressive, and harassing. It became apparent to us that working with him would be unsafe to our employees, sub-contractors, and overall business. At this point this man is harassing us.  He has called numerous times only to keep yelling at everyone who answers the phone. Today he called the owner (Bret) and cussed him out over the phone! Bret was kind, calm, and respectful during the entire conversation (even though [redacted] was using extreme profanity while yelling at Bret).  Keep in mind, no money has exchanged, no contracts have been signed, and no work has been performed. As a business we reserve the right to decline business and refuse service to anyone, and in this situation we exercised our right.  I appreciate any help you can provide in ending this issue. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist.

Hi Jasmine,We have been in touch with the home owner and we are trying to resolve the situation. Until we have a resolution that is the only information I have. Thank you for your diligence and follow up. Regards,MarjeanneMarketing DirectorRise Above Remodeling

We reached out to this Rise Above by referral, and they came out to our home, measured, and spent a lot of time understanding our needs, which are all rather basic: media wall, small guest bath remodel, and tile flooring. We kept getting promises of "we'll gt back to you in a few days" over and over, and then after a month, Colton claims, "I am in NY till next Tuesday. I was getting double checked on what I want to put together for your wall... as soon as I get my double check approx, I will let you know.". Another week goes by w/ nothing, then Colton promised that they "will shoot you the numbers by Friday". Fri came and went, and after another week, Colton emails,"... we are going to pass on your home project. A lot of the changes you are asking for are just not our specialty..."

What?! They said onsite in our home that this is exactly what they specialize in, and it is all very basic. We're very frustrated Rise Above wasted a lot of our time, and now we have to start over. Don't waste your time w/ Rise Above.

Beware asked for quote on complete home remodel walked in blowing smoke of how good they are. Came back for second visit did measurements and built cad views of what could be done. Three weeks later we got a non-line item quote. (14k above two other contractors). When pressed for more detail we never heard from them again. Glad I just read that same kind of treatment on Revdex.com before I tried to work with them.

Buyer beware!!! Rise Above Remodeling took $18,000 of my moms money and she did not receive the services she paid for. She was given the run around over and over. She order flooring, and cabinets. They never ordered the cabinets and held my moms money for 9 weeks. They kept promising her that the cabinets were in and that they were going to be installed. After investigating the situation with the manufacture who makes the cabinets we found out that they never ordered the cabinets. The owner [redacted], who claims to be a pastor, was called about the situation and he began to curse and cuss to myself and my mom on the phone. When asked if he was a pastor he quickly changed his time and hung the phone up on me. Their salesperson, [redacted], was very difficult to get a hold of and would make broken promises. In the 9 weeks of dealing with them they never once gave a game plan on when they would start and complete the project. They were very unprofessional and offered no customer service or communication. They were blaming the situation on myself for not having the house completed in time for them to install the flooring and cabinets but they never ordered anything. They hoarded my moms money for 9 weeks with nothing to show for it. After battling with them they finally gave my mom back her money. I have never been in a situation like this before and I wanted to warn people before they select rise above to do their research and go with another company. If they did this to my mom they will do it again and will try and take your money. I am more than happy to tell people over the phone or meet in person because there is only so much you can put in an email.

Rise Above did the remodeling of both bathrooms in my home a few months ago. They were prompt and courteous from the time they stepped foot into my home until they were finished with the job. Both bathrooms look like spas now, such a major improvement from the lousy work of the initial contractor back in 1984 (they had used RV plumbing finishes and cheap plastic tub/showers). I would most definitely use them again in the future. They usually answered phones on the first call, I rarely had to leave messages and dealt with problems as soon as they arose. Very nice people to work with.

I have used Rise Above Remodeling for 3 major projects on my condo. They have built a bathroom, from scratch, converting a closet and other open space, remodeled a current bathroom by removing the existing fiberglass shower and installing a tile shower and have installed tile flooring. Each time they have been professional, had competitive bids and completed the project to expectations. I had no reservations about recommending Rise Above to my boss (who hired them for a huge remodel project) and I recommended them to another executive in my company (who hired them for a bathroom remodel)and I never had any negative feedback from them about concerns with the end results. My brother recently purchased a condo close to mine and was doing a complete bathroom remodel, including tearing out the current fiberglass shower and replacing with tile and new fixtures. He also had tiled installed in the main living areas of his condo and had ceiling wiring in 3 rooms for fans, by Rise Above. He had nothing but good comments about the results. I have recommended Rise Above to the Chairman of my association and she has received bids for various projects. Based upon her comments, I believe she feels the bids are competitive and she feels that the Principal of the company is trustworthy. She is planning on moving forward with some of the projects. All in all, I have recommended Rise Above to people that I know and that I cherish their positive results outcome about my recommendation. I will continue to recommend Rise Above when asked about if I know anyone that could handle remodel projects, both large and small.
