Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: It is full of lies and inaccuracies All you have to do is go on any site that has reviews of this business and see they have multiple complaints against them Better yet, call the Yakima County Animal Control officer As to the introduction, I did not state that I "tossed the dog in the back yard." That was her words when I called and told her I walked the dog into my yard They dog and my dog sniffed each other for a few seconds, my dog (a small terrier) began to walk away and [redacted] attacked him repeatedly She told me it was my fault for not introducing them correctly I stated that she never told me that I would have to introduce dogs "on leash" I have introduced my do to at least other dogs and they sniff each other and play or go about their business She replied, "well, 99% of people already know that." She wanted her leash, collar and prong collar back so I told her I would pick one up I never said it would be before I introduced the dog to mine The "paperwork" that she is referring has hand written vaccines listed that she wrote out when I was standing there She either made it up or knows the vaccines the dog had Why would a proper business not have records for their adoptions? [redacted] did not have ANY abrasions on her when she was returned other than the marks that were already on her that Trisha said were from flies when she wasn't cared for in California Which leads me to the advertising lies In the ad on PetFinder.com it states that [redacted] was adopted by a family and was around kids and ok to be around other dogs That she was not aggressive at all and had been loved by her family until they sadly couldn't keep the dog anymore and surrender her to Trisha When I picked the dog up, Trisha said that the dog had been tied up in California in the heat the marks on her ears were from the flies biting her Now she is saying that the dog was surrendered to her by another rescue She can't keep her stories straight The end of her response is all lies to get more money She obviously knows the vaccines if she wrote them from memory or they were lies in the first place, there were no abrasions, and if training is needed it is because of the dogs initial demeanor I was in the possession of the dog for hours total and of those the dog was in the car for transport to and from Yakima

The adopter that adopted [redacted] was never pressured to adopt her, she actually spent over a hr with her hanging out wit her and her daughterWe feel that in this situation the adopter had an unrealistic view of what she was doing and did not have the education to be able to properly introduce two dogsThis dog has been around both doggy play groups of 10-dogs and was walked in a group by a dog walker times a week with a rotating group of dogs some new and some oldNever was there an instance where there was an issue with proper introductionThe adopter stated to us that she took [redacted] and "tossed her in the back yard with the other dog" That as soon as she was in the yard there was a dog fightIt is dangerous to do this with any dog big or small, and since [redacted] has a background of being good with other dogs and extensive socialization it is more then then likely the other dog who could have made the first moveWe would like to have the other dog evaluate by a licensed behaviorist that is willing to state that it was not this introduction or actions of the owner that would have caused this reaction by either dogShe also had [redacted] out of leash and collar which she was instructed she needed and offered one for the ride home, to do a proper introductionShe stated that she would stop and pick one up, but did not and so had no control over the intro [redacted] being a mix of two giant breeds is starting to grey in the faceIt is common in mastiffs and saints around months of ageGiant breeds are known to grey extremely youngThis can be seen over and over in breeder and rescues alikeShe is young as we have records of her when she was weeks old by the rescue she was at before she was surrendered to us The adopters did not pay her full adoption fee, and demanded it be returnedAs stated in her paper work adoption fees are non refundableIt also states that she is aware that she is to keep the dog on leash and in a collar at all timesIt also states that she is aware that upon the return of a dog that the adopter must return all paper work with them or cover the cost to have it redoneSince she did not return with her paper work we had to redo her vaccines as we did not have any copies of it any longer [redacted] also came to us with abrasions, fearful due to the interaction with the other dog and is going to require to be enrolled in a one on one trainer to work with the incident that was allowed to happen to her We would be happy to refund the donation made, if she will pay for the cost of the vaccines (55.00), vetting for abrasions (125.00) and training (550.00) that we have now had to pay due to the handling mistake that was made in the care of Noni I am happy to provide all signed paper work if you would like

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
The owners claim that we have lied about this situation. Not one word was a lie. Attached are two pictures of ***. In one, you can clearly see the puncture wounds the "Rescue" claims he never had. You can see one clearly on his neck on on his leg. Secondly, I have attached a PDF file from the *** *** *** that outlines the standards for an English Bulldog. You can see in both pictures that while *** has some similar features to an English Bulldog, he is in no way full blooded.
Yes, we signed the agreement stating that there would be no refunds, but if we submitted a request to their Board of Directors, they would review the request and make a determination from there about the possibility. It seemed reasonable to make a refund request, since we only had the dog for hours, and not counting the adoption fee, it has cost us over $in vet fees for our cat
To add to this, I have reason to believe that they never held this meeting, and never had any intention of reviewing our case, as after they informed us of the supposed 'outcome' of that meeting I left a review of our experience on their *** page, and by their response, it indicated that they had no idea who I was. They left this as a reply to my review on their page- "*** *** do you have a dog that you have adopted from us personally? As we have never been contacted by anyone with your name. So do you have a personal experance, or are you just being a troll?" They then edited this response, changing it to- "*** *** do you have a dog that you have adopted from us personally? As we are always happy to talk to anyone who has not had a good experance. We adopt out many dogs that are in amazing families as is seen by the happy tails posts we get every day." Since then, it looks like they have disabled the reviews section of their *** page.
And I would also like to point out that the picture of *** they used to prove he is good with cats, proves nothing. He's asleep on a couch yes, but there is no cat in that picture. We were lied to from the beginning and I truly wish we had looked into them further before we initiated this transaction. I am hoping that by working with the Revdex.com we can make sure that others are not taken in by this company like we were

Revdex.com,
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID *** and have determined that this does not resolve my complaintFor your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Much of the information given in the business response is not accurateFor instance, *** is receiving oral antibiotics, a topical cream, and an ear rinse to treat his ear infectionIn regards to sending the vet records for their review, I agreed to do so and simply asked for the contact information of the vet who I should send them toI never received this information after multiple inquiriesI don't feel it's appropriate for a volunteer at the rescue to assess the veterinary care and be making this decision but I'm more than happy to (and have tried to) provide this information to the rescues vet***arian for their reviewMany of their other claims are just as inaccurate.

To Whom It May Concern:
The couple stated above Adopted an OLDE ENGLISH BULLDOG, from our rescueWe did meet them at a neutral location as the dogs are housed in foster homes and many of our dogs are power breeds and do not meet other dogs and people well on what they would consider their
territorySo we had made this decision to meet at a neutral location under the suggestion of a behaviorist who helped with the foundation of our program and we still work with todayIt was not a bar, it was a restaurant owned by a family friend, next to a community center with a small park*** came to us as an Olde English bulldog, the boxer that was crossed out was done by *** *** Humane Society after they were put in touch with his family who confirmed what his breed was and what was going onIt is also clear based off breed evaluation, as well as by other breed representatives that he is an olde English bulldogWhich is why he was listed as suchTo list him as a boxer would have been to lie.
The dog did not have bite marks on him, but did return with open wounds which became infected due to cat scratches on his face, neck, lips, nose and chestThis totaled a cost of over in vet bills to have taken care of* was living in a home with cats both inside and outside before he was adopted by this familyAnd currently is living in a home with inside cats and outside cats currently with no issuesThe adopters stated that they walked him past the cat a couple times, dropped the leash and *** sniffed around and walked up stairsWhich at that time he saw the cat, and chased itIt is for ANY dog who is new to a home to chase a running animalAt the adoption we talked about keeping him on leash for a minimum of a week, putting him in a crate and letting him see the cat and getting to know it before ever leaving them alone or unsupervisedHe is a bulldog and is high prey driveWhich was stated in his profile as he would chase the kids of his prior ownerThey stated that they understoodI have attached a photo of *** the day he was adopted to his new home in good shape, and sleeping on a couch across from the family catThis was his reaction to him when PROPERLY INTRODUCED.
The family was also aware at the time of adoption per the contract that they signed that ADOPTION FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE, they were informed of this again at the time that they returned him and sent in the request for refund that again adoption fees are non refundable, but we would review itHowever in the time that we were reviewing it we moved him to different fosters, with cats, as well as an adoptive home with a cat and he did well upon proper introduction to all of them Which leads us to believe that it was improper handling that caused the issue, had our advice been followed, he would have been fineBut we did go above and beyond what we had stated in the contract and offered his adoption fee to be transferred to another dog if they would likeThey have refused the transfer at this point, and we feel that we have done all we can to offer.
The adopter is also making up lies and slandering us on ***, and harassing a few of our staffWhich we have informed them needs to stopIf it is not we will be filing a restraining order and suing for damages done by slanderWe are asking that these outrageous claims be removedAs they are lies and we will be pursuing charges if they are notWe have gone above and beyond to offer a dog to be adopted in lieu of his adoption feeMany rescues do not even offer that

With out sending us his vet records for us to take to our vet, as we would not only like to have them gone over at our vet but at WSU medical center as well. This means we need the records in hand to take in with us to an appt that will be scheduled. There is no reason for her to refuse to send us his vet records unless she simply doesn't have any.  We are not able to offer any help if she refuses to send us any proof or records. She also stated via email that he would not be put on antibiotics for at least 10 days, so that was 10 days he was sick that he was not getting care. He may be on them now, but again we have no proof. We offered help and she refused. We are happy to send a copy of the contract she signed that stated the following, she was informed of this and even signed it at his adoption. ·  I am aware that this dog was being kept in a foster/Rescue home where other animals may have been present. This means that this animal may have come into contact with other animals that have a contagious illness that may not have presented itself at this time. Due to this we always suggest to re-deworm all animals within 2 weeks of adoption to best ensure that all parasites have been taken care of and reduce the risk  other animals.  I am aware that the rescue does provide a vet check with RPMRS’ vet with in the first 24 hrs of adoption with RPMR covering the cost of the visit only. If this is not done then I am taking on all responsibility of any medical care that is needed for this animal from this point forward. _____________ (Initial)

The adopter that adopted [redacted] was never pressured to adopt her, she actually spent over a hr with her hanging out wit her and her daughter. We feel that in this situation the adopter had an unrealistic view of what she was doing and did not have the education to be able to properly introduce two...

dogs. This dog has been around both doggy play groups of 10-15 dogs and was walked in a group by a dog walker 3 times a week with a rotating group of dogs some new and some old. Never was there an instance where there was an issue with proper introduction. The adopter stated to us that she took [redacted] and "tossed her in the back yard with the other dog" . That as soon as she was in the yard there was a dog fight. It is dangerous to do this with any dog big or small, and since [redacted] has a background of being good with other dogs and extensive socialization it is more then then likely the other dog who could have made the first move. We would like to have the other dog evaluate by a licensed behaviorist that is willing to state that it was not this introduction or actions of the owner that would have caused this reaction by either dog. She also had [redacted] out of leash and collar which she was instructed she needed and offered one for the ride home, to do a proper introduction. She stated that she would stop and pick one up, but did not and so had no control over the intro.
[redacted] being a mix of two giant breeds is starting to grey in the face. It is common in mastiffs and saints around 10 months of age. Giant breeds are known to grey extremely young. This can be seen over and over in breeder and rescues alike. She is young as we have records of her when she was 4 weeks old by the rescue she was at before she was surrendered to us.
The adopters did not pay her full adoption fee, and demanded it be returned. As stated in her paper work adoption fees are non refundable. It also states that she is aware that she is to keep the dog on leash and in a collar at all times. It also states that she is aware that upon the return of a dog that the adopter must return all paper work with them or cover the cost to have it redone. Since she did not return with her paper work we had to redo her vaccines as we did not have any copies of it any longer. [redacted] also came to us with abrasions, fearful due to the interaction with the other dog and is going to require to be enrolled in a one on one trainer to work with the incident that was allowed to happen to her.
We would be happy to refund the donation made, if she will pay for the cost of the vaccines (55.00), vetting for abrasions (125.00) and training (550.00) that we have now had to pay due to the handling mistake that was made in the care of Noni.

I am happy to provide all signed paper work if you would like

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:  It is full of lies and inaccuracies.
All you have to do is go on any site that has reviews of this business and see they have multiple complaints against them.  Better yet, call the Yakima County Animal Control officer.
As to the introduction, I did not state that I "tossed the dog in the back yard."  That was her words when I called and told her I walked the dog into my yard.  They dog and my dog sniffed each other for a few seconds, my dog (a small terrier) began to walk away and [redacted] attacked him repeatedly.  She told me it was my fault for not introducing them correctly.  I stated that she never told me that I would have to introduce dogs "on leash".  I have introduced my do to at least 6 other dogs and they sniff each other and play or go about their business.  She replied, "well, 99% of people already know that."  She wanted her leash, collar and prong collar back so I told her I would pick one up.  I never said it would be before I introduced the dog to mine.  The "paperwork" that she is referring has hand written vaccines listed that she wrote out when I was standing there.  She either made it up or knows the vaccines the dog had.  Why would a proper business not have records for their adoptions?
[redacted] did not have ANY abrasions on her when she was returned other than the marks that were already on her that Trisha said were from flies when she wasn't cared for in California.  Which leads me to the false advertising lies.  In the ad on PetFinder.com it states that [redacted] was adopted by a family and was around kids and ok to be around other dogs.  That she was not aggressive at all and had been loved by her family until they sadly couldn't keep the dog anymore and surrender her to Trisha.   When I picked the dog up, Trisha said that the dog had been tied up in California in the heat the marks on her ears were from the flies biting her.  Now she is saying that the dog was surrendered to her by another rescue.  She can't keep her stories straight.
The end of her response is all lies to get more money.  She obviously knows the vaccines if she wrote them from memory or they were lies in the first place, there were no abrasions,  and if training is needed it is because of the dogs initial demeanor.  I was in the possession of the dog for 3 hours total and 2.75 of those the dog was in the car for transport to and from Yakima.

To Whom It May Concern: [redacted] was adopted from our group by a person who was well informed that [redacted] was to be in a home with out other dogs. In his profile and in his adoption agreement it stated that he was reactive to other dogs, which was why he was looking for a home with out other dogs. He had...

been living in a home with any where between 3 and 8 other dogs and done well as long as managed. He also lived in a home with cats. As she was informed that he would need training to live with a cat and he was never allowed to be with them unsupervised. [redacted] had never shown any other animal aggression only excitement when greeting. I have photos of [redacted] with other dogs and animals. She also was informed in her application that many of our dogs are " works in progress and will require training classes" which is why she was required to have a trainer listed that she would be using. She was aware he would need to attend a training class.  When she adopted [redacted] she was informed via her contract that we offered a free vet check with [redacted] at our vet within the first 24 hrs at no cost. We also offer 30 days free vet insurance with every adoption through petfirst. After adopting [redacted] we were contacted by the adopter that night and informed that he was doing great and that they loved him. He was doing great. It was not until 3 days later that she contacted us stating that [redacted] was sick. She stated that his liver enzymes were high. We asked which ones. She could not tell us so we asked to see his vet records to see if our vet could help with what is going on. She stated that she had to redo his vaccines, which was false as he was current on his vaccines, and the vaccines she gave him were vaccines that are not suggested to be given to bull og type dogs as it is know to cause liver failure. She also stated that she had tests done on him stating that he had an ear infection. We asked what was being done for it. She stated that they were just treating it with an ear rinse. But insisted that it was a very bad ear infection. She also stated that he had other infections but his White Blood Cell count was normal. Anytime there is an infection the white blood cell count is high that is the first indication that there is an issue. We offered help and asked to see vet records so we could assist with medications or treatment. We simply asked for a copy of his vet records. All she would send us was typed copies of his bill. Most of which was elective and things we would not have covered. We asked over 10 times for a copy of his vet records. And each time she refused to send them to us so that we could assist with anything and get a second opinion. We sent an email that even stated that we were asking for vet records and by not sending them she was aware that we would not be able to help in any way. We have an email from her where we informed her that we would only offer this for a few days as we were already going above and beyond what our contract states. As she clearly was informed that once the 24 hr period had passed that she was accepting all responsibility for the dogs medical care. At this time we are happy to take [redacted] back into our care and work with our vet to help with his medical needs. We have asked repeatedly for medical records and she refuses to send them so they can be looked at by a different vet to offer assistance. She was informed on the 18th that our window of help had expired as we had offered assistance for over a week and she was refusing to send in medical records. At this time we feel we have gone above and beyond off[redacted]g help. We offered a free visit at our cost with our vet, 30 days vet insurance, as well as help if she provided us with medical records. All of which she refused.

Revdex.com,
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Once again, I attempted to have my vet fax over vet records for their review, I was never given the name or any contact information to send them even though I asked for it multiple times. These need to be sent from one vets office to another, however Rising Phoenix will not provide the vets name so I can send them. Rising Phoenix also said they were sending the dogs previous vet records to me but have neglected to do so. The contract states that the dogs should be wormed, it doesn't warn that the dogs will have severe ear infections, festering dog bites, or giardia as this dog did. Finally, the dog started on a 14 day course of antibiotics on February 15th, which I told Rising Phoenix on February 15th and further documented in an itemized visit summary from that days vet appointment which showed the antibiotics prescribed and their cost (sent to them on Feb 15). Saying he went 10 days without antibiotics is an outright lie unless they are referring to their own negligence when the dog was in their care.
Regards,
[redacted]

She lied and listed puppies as Mastiff-Doberman mixes. She told me the whole story on how the dog accidently got pregnant with the mastiff and everything. She told me all about the parents. $500 was a high price, but we wanted a large guard dog badly.

We had the puppy we adopted dna tested, and it's 50/50 staffordshire terrier (pit bull) and doberman. She lied because Pit is a harder to sell dog.

I called the Yakima Sherrif, she is under investigation and they get LOTS of complaints about her. Animal abuse, lying, selling sick dogs, you name it.... she's done it. Do NOT give this woman a penny.

Review: NEVER do business with Rising Phoenix Mastiff Rescue! I tried adopting a dog from RPMR that I found on Petfinder.com. Dog's profile stated that she ADORES dogs, cats, kids, etc. And nothing you could do would cause her aggression. We have a family of 5 with 2 dogs and we live in Montana in a country setting. My dogs are well socialized and have had numerous off leash and unexpected encounters with all types of dominate or non dominate dogs and nothing has ever happened. They've never been bit or have gotten in any dog fight..EVER. When you state a dog adores other dogs there should be no issues..everyone is a potential friend and typically the dog just wiggles and is happy go lucky. This dog..[redacted], is great with people however she does not adore dogs, or cats. Before taking a 6hr drive to meet RPMR in Idaho I..let me emphasize that again...I asked RPMR how they deal with out of state adoptions where a home already has dogs. She stated plain and simple via email that [redacted] is great with other dogs and pretty much anything so if I was comfortable with it then they were too. So I didn't want to make my 2 big dogs endure a long car ride as one has hip problems and it'd be crowded. (My son, father, and my father's 2 little lap dogs came with as my road buddies). Upon arrival [redacted] was dominating one of my dads little dogs and my dad wouldn't let [redacted] get close enough to his little yorkie/chihuahua pup b/c she rushed him and he was not comfortable at all with her behavior towards his dogs. That should have been my first clue. I let it go assuming she was antsy from the long car ride. One of RPMR's employee or volunteer saw all this and corrected the dog as the dog seemed very attached and well behaved for her. She then told me they don't know exactly what type of dog she was that was their best guess(her profile clearly states she's an old English bulldog which is just a bit bigger than an English bulldog) and also said she wasn't so sure how she was with cats..depended on the cat and if it was dog saavy. We don't have cats and one of my dogs doesn't like them anyways so I was like ok no biggie..but then I questioned why the dogs price was so high if she wasn't pure bred. I didn't really get an answer as the woman who was in charge was dealing with business with the animal control shelter in Idaho. (Since we met at the police animal shelter and she was "rescuing" a mastiff there I felt this was a legit business..after all this I contacted the police animal shelter there in Idaho and she will Not be doing business with her anymore)I then asked how the dog was with larger dogs b/c of what happened with my fathers and she said she had much more respect for larger dogs. I wanted to wrap things up and head home so last minute they pulled out a lengthy contract that I feel I signed under false pretenses and I had driven 6hrs and I felt pressured into signing it. We brought the dog home and I was suggested to introduce them in a neutral setting after a long walk. I was never told to take the utmost precautions. After the walks and we settled down from the long drive we decided to do the intro. [redacted] was happy and excited and there was no growling or anything she just went for my boxer/cur's throat and latched on like a pitbull and I had to physically grab her to get her off of him. I then took her out of that situation and didn't realize my daughter was in the back yard with my lab and she then bit my lab in the ribs and again I had to grab her and pull her off. After this I contacted RPMR she was rude and turned around and blamed me. She didn't even care about the welfare of my dogs. I wasn't pointing fingers, blaming, or upset at the dog at the time. I really bonded with the dog and she was so stinking adorable I'm still bummed it didn't work out. I just felt this wasn't the right home for her. We took her back within about 28hrs all the way to Yakima WA. Supposedly this dog was given a bath before we picked her up. The stench on her coat was fowl and the amount of dandruff said otherwise. You also could see her ribs and the way she wolfed down food seemed like she hadn't eaten for days. When we brought the dog back we were given an address which we were under the impression was the shelter. Our GPS took us to an empty parking lot and after circling around and thinking we were crazy we stopped in a pizza joint that was next to the empty parking lot to ask for directions. They said they had never even heard of RPMR and thought it just as strange as we did. I called her about 10-15 times and finally she answered and said no we're in the right spot and she'd be there in a minute. When she pulled up and the dog saw who it was her head dropped at the sight of her. I felt terrible and as if we did the wrong thing bringing her back to this Ghost Operation. After that I decided to Google this "rescue" group...and what do ya know. She has an "F" rating here with the Revdex.com and many many horrific complaints on other forums like zootoo.com and I will be adding to them. I feel she falsely advertises dogs(especially reading one story where someone surrendered an aggressive dog to her and she posted on petfinder.com a few weeks later that she was good with dogs and people) to make them more appealing and easier to sell. I'm lucky this dog is good with kids...it could have been one of my kids that got bit. I feel she is far from professional and could potentially be putting unsuitable dogs in homes where dangerous situations can occur. I contacted animal control there in Yakima and was told she operates out of parking lots and they have had lots of complaints about her...My question is why is nothing being done then? I'll be following up on that question. So if you're a loving person and looking for a pet to give a home to..steer clear from this so called rescue because you'll just be fueling her dog mill.Desired Settlement: I'd like my $350 back since she has the dog back..however I know I won't see it. She's already made that very clear. Also would like her to change the dogs profile but I doubt that will happen either since ive already asked her to and she hasnt. So this is really just for Revdex.com information only and consumers like me. I want people to know about her so they won't fall into her trap like I did. Lesson learned I will always look into any business first regardless of their type of business. I went into this thinking she was out for the sake of the dogs..now I know she's not after doing my research.

Review: Rescue advertised a dog named [redacted] who was available for adoption. I was told [redacted] had received regular veterinary care, he was very healthy, was very good with other dogs, was ok with cats but may need a little bit of training, and had a microchip. I purchased [redacted] and took him to my vet within one business day. [redacted] had no microchip and was very sick due to what the vet considered "severe and recent neglect." I've owned this dog for one week and incurred $1,500 in expenses to date. The dog is also extremely aggressive toward all other animals, including all dogs, cats, even our turtles. I understand that I signed a waiver assuming all vet care for this dog going forward, but I did so based on the information I was provided by the rescue. I was told he was in good health and I certainly didn't expect a rescue organization to be severely neglecting a dog and to have to assume medical care to rehabilitate him.Desired Settlement: I would like compensation to cover the astronomical vet expenses, in addition to the costs I will incur to microchip this dog.

Review: We purchased a puppy from the facility and we were told he was great dane...(they saw the mother) and lab or pure great dane. We had waited a year to find a great dane mix. This puppy is now 6 months old and we got him when he was 8 weeks. He is definitely not great dane. HE is for sure pit bull. Very disappointing for us. THis is according to a vet and everyone who sees him as he as grown. The other issue is that he was very sick when we got him home. We live in Wenatchee and drove to Yakima to purchase this puppy for $300. He was sick the minute we let him out to go to the bathroom when we got home. He had blood in his stools. We took him to the vet. He had worms, mange and was very foul smelling when he came home. We bathed him and then had to bathe him several times a week and paid for several treatment for mange, and several wormings. He was truly neglected. They said they would do what we could to help and we sent them the vet bills. The vet said that his health issues when we got him were from poor care. We will settle to receive $75. The vet said due to his care he has a poor immune system and we have been working to build that back up. I am concerned for other dogs in their care and for the people they give false stories to.Desired Settlement: $75 to go towards vet bills

Response:

We are very sorry for any issues that this has caused. However with out the name of the dog we do not know which dog this is or who. Most of our dogs come from shelters in california and we inform people that they can be exposed to many different things. It is stated in the contract that we do not know the full health of the dog, all we can state is what is present at the time that we have had him or her. We also do state that we do not know the breed. We can give info based upon what we are told, or what we see. As in this case if the mother was seen by the vollunteer. But many times dogs that come into shelters are not labled with their breed. We do have to go off of what we are told they are.

But to be 100% on this exact situation, we would need the dogs name, adoption date as well as copies of paper work provided with this dog so we knew whom we were talking about.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9521068, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

They have the vets papers they know the dogs name is Atticus and I informed them I would be talking with the Revdex.com. They told us the mother was pure Great Dane..they say they saw her and they stated the father was either lab or possibly Great Dane. They do have our paper work and they do know of this complaint and have told us they would help us through instant message on our phone;..I have the copies and I have also messaged them through their facebook account. They do know of this complaint.

Response:

Mr and Mrs [redacted] signed a contract up on adoption of "Atticus". It did outline all risks of adopting a dog from a rescue situation. Please read below the items listed in the contract that was both initaled and signed.

Below states that we are not able to ensure the breed of the adopted dog. We can give info based upon what we are informed by shelter workers, vollunteers, and other professionals. We also can not ensure against illnesses if they have not shown up in our care.

· I understand and agree that the current rescue makes no guarantees

about the animal's temperament, health, breed, age, or level of training and is not responsible for future damages or injuries caused by the animal. _________ (initial)

Below states that she is aware that the dog was kept in a foster situation and that it could be exposed to illnesses. We offer a vet appointment with our vet with in 24 hrs of adoption. We will cover the costs of care if the dog is taken to our vet. This was not done and thus they accepted all responcibility of vet care.

· I am aware that this dog was being kept in a foster/Rescue home where other animals may have been present. This means that this animal may have come into contact with other animals that have a contagious illness that may not have presented itself at this time.

Please let me know if there is anything else we can help with.

I feel that I was lied to by the business. They TOLD us they saw the mother which was a 160 lb Great Dane. They TOLD us they would help with the vet bills, yet now they we signed papers absolving them of any responsibility for their LIES. We have copies of the text messages to prove what we are saying. We do not accept their offer ( which says basically "too bad!"). They give rescue shelters a bad name and should not be in business. They basically run a puppy mill, and charge $300 - $500 for a pit bull cross, but lie to people about the lineage.

Regards,

Review: Adopted a dog from the agency. Per advertisement and oral agreement, dog is healthy, house trained and knows basic commands. Dog was wet when picked up. Representative claimed the dog had been given a bath. This could not have been true. When we gave the dog a bath, there is no other way to describe it but that mud and what I can only guess was animal waste RAN off of him. This dog had not been taken care of. He got sick in the car, this was after they advertised that he likes car rides. We have to carefully monitor for signs since he is not totally house-trained and he tends to regurgitate his food and water.Desired Settlement: We would like a full refund of our adoption fee ($400) plus the cost of fuel ($45). Most importantly, we would like to surrender the dog to a local shelter, because of the poor business practices and probable improper treatment by RPMR.
