security depositDespite the deplorable condition he left the apartment in, I still refunded$to him.His complaint against me for "slander" are also completely groundless By law, Ihad to send copies of my security deposit letter to his wife since she was a co-tenant on the rental agreement.Regarding his claim about bedbugs, (1) he provided his own bed and a wicker dresser Both were infested with bedbugs(2) There were no bed bugs in that apartment before he moved in (3) He complained of bed bugs five months after he moved in (4) No other tenants in the same building have any bedbugs, so that problem was isolated to his unit only (5) Under the rental agreement he, as tenant, was specifically "responsible to exterminate for bed bugs." (6) Despite the binding agreement of his responsibility, we arranged for an exterminator, but he denied access two separate times.After he vacated, we had the unit professionally exterminated The complainant was clearly responsible for that reasonable charge.The complainant wants his full security deposit back, but he fails to admit that he owed half of a month's rent plus the late fee.He also fails to mention that he left the apartment with a broken microwave oven, broken desk lamp and broken floor lamp and shade.He left the apartment with trash that fully filled very large black trash bags He left a lot of large items that had to be hauled awayHe left the unit filthy and with a foul smellThe cleaner found a white plastic vial of marijuana after complainant left That unit was given to him in a clean and habitable condition, as his signed check in sheet verifies.Complainant scheduled a meeting to pick up his security deposit and the breakdown for any amounts withheldHe did not show up as agreedHe left us no forwarding address, so we sent the notice to his wife by emailHe eventually picked up his check and statement.Unfortunately, I do not think the complainant will settle for anything less than his full deposit back, which I rightfully withheld It is also unfortunate that he has misused Revdex.com to intimidate and coerce me for more moneyI am proud of my Revdex.com rating.Sincerely,Rita G
