I am responding on behalf of Venango Newspaper Company regarding complaint LD number [redacted] submitted by [redacted] I am providing an update on the actions we’ve taken to resolve the situationI am in the Online Subscription Department and worked with Frank B [redacted] , Circulation Director, on the resolution[redacted] was called by our outside telemarketing company on or around April 4, 2017, and offered a special discounted rate (50% off home delivery price) if she paid over the phoneShe told the representative that she was unemployed and didn’t have the moneyShe then opted at the full rate and wanted us to bill her as she was expecting an unemployment check soonWe started her paper on 4/6/and billed her on 4/6, 5/and a final bill on 6/before being shut off for non-payment on 6/for $Frank is going to clear her balance and not pursue the back monies owed.On July 31,2017, Ms [redacted] submitted a $online subscription order through our websiteShe did not qualify for the $rate because her print: subscription at her residence was not active and paid to current, and our policy prohibits the adding of an online subscription to a print subscription at a separate addressShe is the only person listed at her addressOur policies are stated on our online subscription form at www[redacted] subscription services and on our Terms of Use page at www [redacted] According to policy, her $payment was assessed at the online-only rate.I emailed to tell her that the online subscription would be temporarily disabled on August if a payment was not made on her print subscription by that time, and that it would remain active as if a payment was made by that timeShe indicated in a return email to cancel all her subscriptions, so I replied to confirm that the print subscription was already stopped and that the online subscription would stop August She then replied with a request to end all contact with her, so I marked that in our system and deleted her online account on August She will receive no further communication from us.Thank you for your time, ***If you have any questions, please feel free to contact usFrank is available at [redacted] , and I am available at [redacted] Have a great day!Sincerely,Diane [redacted] C [redacted] Online Marketing Coordinator Venango Newspaper CompanyP.OBox Oil City, PA Phone: 814-676-
