This patient has seen two of our providers– Dr. K[redacted] – a gynecologist who is no longer with the practice, and the second – women's health nurse practitioner Eterial B[redacted], who unfortunately is...

We currently do have a gynecologist on staff, but most of the providers are primary care providers (including Eterial), who are also trained in routine gynecology (this includes, internal and external exams, pap smears, breast exams, general issues such as yeast infections and BV, STD diagnosis and treatment and some of our providers place and remove IUDs). All of our providers' credentials are listed on our website and the practice name is Rittenhouse Internal Medicine which reflects the nature of the practice being based in primary care. (Rittenhouse Women's Wellness Center is the name that the company uses for the rest of the services provided in our office – medical spa, nutrition, psychology.)Since we are listed with insurance as primary care, a patient who has a PCP elsewhere needs a referral in order for us to be able to process the claim with insurance. We tried to contact the patients several times so that she could get in touch with her PCP, however, we never heard back. Since the patient contacted us in March and the PCP was never reached for a referral submission, we are now charging her the reduced self-pay rate of $125.We understand that medical bills are a problem for patients; however, we have made a good faith effort to correct this issue so that the patient was not billed from August of last year. We also cannot agree that our providers are untrained or that we are falsely advertising.I am attaching screenshots from our website and a time-stamped log from her account with our multiple attempts to contact this patient regarding a referral.
