River City Boat Works Reviews (3)

River City Boatworks performed a service on my Polaris Waverunner Although I respect that parts are difficult to obtain, it never worked well afterwards I took my waverunner to another dealer this year and he advised that there was no way that 1)River city performed the work they said they did, and 2) didn't do the work correctly, if they did the work I contacted River City on several occasions to work through the details, complaints, to no avail I spent several thousands dollars with River City, and then had to redo the SAME work this year, for another several thousand dollars For the amount of time on my engine, only hours total, and probably only about hours since the River City service, should I have needed Fuel injector change, let alone fuel injector changes!!

It has been about year since River City Boat Works has worked on my boatI paid him $9,for a large amount of work a good portion never got done, a good portion was done very poorly and some was done professionallySince last year I have spent approximately $1,to a professional mechanic fixing small things that we're not done correctly things that a professional would not do such as leaving wires off of the on-board chargerAfter dealing with River City Boat Works for three years giving them over $20,to work on my boat now that I am working with true professional boat mechanics I see how I went very very wrong using River City Boat WorksHe took my money with a smile on his face but when I showed him pictures of the poor work and things I had to have another mechanic fix he simply says I can't just give you money backWhat the hell this guy is a true thief and a rip off so you need to be he took my money he took my money with a smile on his face but when I showed him pictures of the Poor work and things I had he took my money with a smile on his face but when I showed him pictures of the Poor work and things I had to have another mechanic fix he simply says I can't just give He took my money with a smile on his face but when I showed him pictures of the poor work and things I had to have another mechanic fix he simply says I can't just give you money backAt the time he left me stranded in the marina with a bad motor when I requested him to come to my Marina to work on my boat he informed me he didn't even have marina insurance he dropped it because it was $5,a yearI only work with professional mechanics now and my boat is literally 100% better and operates perfectly

Review: I bought a 1985 bayliner 2750 that needed alot of work, I chose [redacted] owner of rivercity boatworks to do the work. to help shorten the review let me say that my boat was worked on 3 years in a row by [redacted]. I've spent approx $20,000 in upgrades and repairs. my problems began on my last visit. may of 2015. I went over approx 35 repairs and upgrades to my boat, I was given updates of how great things were going and I was told to be there on a specific date at 1 pm to take my boat back to the marina. I showed up to find my boat not only not hooked up to the truck buck several guys working on my boat. I climbed aboard to find many of the things I paid to get done were not even started. I got angry and [redacted] yelled at me. me the customer. he proceeded to tell me that this is why he hates this business, because people want there boats back fast, but let me remind you, he had my boat for 90 days. in no way was I getting anything done quick. when I complained about some things I didn't like he told me very clearly the guys working on my boat were a bunch of dopers only working for cash only to get money to score there next drug deal. so later in the afternoon we took my boat to the marina and we launched it. I suggested a test drive and he said no, not necessary. so he left and my boat ran horrible. in the mean time my daughter had to go by his shop because one of his employees took my shore power cord off my boat. he at that time told my daughter that his so called employees are a bunch of losers working for cash just for dope money. [redacted] went to my boat a couple days later to check out my poor running boat. He had put a new MSD distributor and a Edelbrock 1409 carburetor on it. his diagnosis was my engine was just wore out. I needed a new motor. But it ran good when I took it to his shop. feeling frustrated that after $9,100 dollars which approx $1,100 was on the motor I couldn't even use my boat. I found mechanics with a good reputation to check out my boat and they looked it over. my distributor was not set up properly for my boat. the mechanical advance was set up for a high Rev engine, not a boat. the intake manifold was installed incorrectly with vacuum leaks, I had to pay another mechanic to fix bad work done by rivercity boatworks. frustrated that so many things on my boat were not done or done badly I went back to my reciepts from the previous year and realized he did it then also, for example he charged me $40 in supplies and almost $400 in labor to paint the interior bow portion of my boat and replace the wood structure. I did this repair and didn't even realize he charged me for it till a year later. I contacted [redacted] and told him I felt I deserved a partial refund. he told me to get it all together and send it to him in an email. I did that and I gave him a generous 60 days to pay me, respond to me in any way. he ignore my first email and letter. approx mid October I sent him another email and letter and several text messages and he has ignored me completly. I kept his name and the name of his business to myself during this whole time but I told him after November 1 2015 I'm revealing his information to the mechanics that repaired my boat. when I did they were not suprised. they have several unhappy customers of rivercity boatworks. if you search his Revdex.com rating he has a B- he did repair on a guys boat and the motor was not aligned properly, [redacted] worked on it and he had problems again. [redacted] chose to ignore him also. look it up on the sacramento Revdex.com for west sac and read it. I am currently doing the proper forms with the Revdex.com and getting the paperwork in order to sue him in court for over $3,000. I was being nice in my letters and emails asking for only $1,500. my opinion of [redacted] is he lost touch with his customers, he only wants your money and quality work has been lost. if your wanting boat work done and love your boat and want quality work done by a professional, stay clear of rivercity boatworks.Desired Settlement: I am only asking for a partial refund of $1,500.
