We had an Abor builtLee came out & knew exactly what we wantedThe work was done just as promised and completed on timeWe are very pleased with our Arbor & are now adding a few featuresRiver City Decks and Patio are professional in every way and I would highly recommend them to anyoneTheir people and their workmanship are excellent and they are great to deal with

I have attached copies of all written correspondence between my company and Mr [redacted] , as well as our project log You will see that we have in good faith attempted to make Mr [redacted] happy ( within reason) You will see on the log where we replaced the majority of the wood that was originally delivered and had the homeowner approve it before putting it down , he indicated he was happy and paid us in full We asked the client to call us to schedule an appointment after he had stained the deck (in person, by phone and by certified mail ) which never happened We were prepared to have the Lowes and Cedar Creek experts meet at his home to inspect the products Our only response has been insulting and threatening letters You will notice in each of his letters how the story changes Our company installs on average jobs a year , and we have an impeccable record At this point my suppliers are no longer willing to meet with the client, due to the length of time since the original complaint It would be impossible to determine what checking was present at the time of install , and what has occurred due to the natural weathering of the material ( see attached material specs ) If you have any questions you can reach me by email or call ###-###-####

I am rejecting this response because: Since this situation began, I have communicated with the owner of this company to get things taken care of correctly. The first meeting that took place in person with Mr. [redacted], I showed him the issues with the cracks, that he calls checking, at that time with my wife present, he stated that the "checking" as he calls it would go away after the deck was stained, he described this as similar to our skin when it id dry it cracks but as soon as we put some type of lotion on it, the cracks in our skin will heal. As my wife and I stained the deck and waited a week or so for the stain to soak in, the cracks that we showed Mr. [redacted] when he initially visited on the first meeting remained. So at that time, I contacted Mr. [redacted] to come out and see and take care of the issue, of which he did not respond, so after a few weeks, I sent him a letter, of which I was very upset because he was using the blow off tactic, since he had already been paid the money in full. I also explained to him that when the deck was completed and I reviewed the deck with his [redacted] named [redacted] and showed him the issues, [redacted]'s response was call [redacted] and let him know so that he can document and take care of the issues, so that it would not have to come out of him material/money. [redacted] also saw one of the boards that were severely cracked and guaranteed me that he would come on his own the following week to personally take care of that since it was the worst board on the deck, to date, [redacted] has not returned and will not call me back after several attempts to contact him. Mr. [redacted] knows of this issue.
 
The main issue besides the cracks in the boards was the quality of the wood that was sold to us for the deck. When the sales rep showed up at our home to do the estimate, she sold my wife and I on a #1 Grade Western Red Cedar Deck, the material that was used was #2 Western Red Cedar, not #1 of which I verified with Lowes and I was told that they DO NOT carry #1 Western Red Cedar. Now Mr. [redacted] continues to state that Lowes brings in #1 Western Red Cedar just for him, which is NOT true at all, he and his crew uses what Lowes stocks on an everyday basis. This was even communicated to me by his [redacted]. When I saw the UPC labeling on the boards that were brought in for the job, I asked [redacted] his [redacted] if they were #1 Western Red Cedar boards and his response was that the boards were Top Choice and could NOT tell me what grade they were, in researching this at Lowes, Top Choice is just the brand name that Lowes carries, it is their own brand, which I also researched on the Lowes website. Now his [redacted] works for him on a continuous basis, so he should know what grade the boards were but does not. In all of this, Mr. [redacted] continues to try and make me look like I am some dumb person and do not know what I am talking about and my research on the internet and at Lowes is completely wrong and you can see that Mr. [redacted] continues to discredit me as a Christian man and human being by saying that my letter to him keep changing, as if I am lying! As a Christian Man, I do not lie and would not lie just to get something for nothing. What my wife and I want is what is listed below, what we were sold by his company. 
 
Again as I stated over and over to Mr. [redacted], the issues are:
1. We did not get a #1 Grade Western Red Cedar Deck, we received a #2 grade.
2. The cracks (checking as he calls it) are still there as I tried to show him at our first meeting and were marked with blue strips of tape; when he gave me the explanation of the cracks being like our skin and would heal with staining. I notified him of the deck staining completion and he has still not showed up. (He sent me one certified letter but it had copies from the internet explaining the grades of wood), but the fact remains, we did not get a #1 Grade Western red Cedar Deck as sold to us by his sales rep.
3. His [redacted] did not follow up with his promise of coming back the following week to fix the board that was cracked the worst.
4. He continues to be a dishonest man and tries to discredit me as a Christian Man.
 
All in all, my wife and I trusted this company, trusted the sales rep that came out and trusted the [redacted] and his crew that did the job, who said he was a Christian Man, which he turned out not to be.

We had an Abor built. Lee came out & knew exactly what we wanted. The work was done just as promised and completed on time. We are very pleased with our Arbor & are now adding a few features. River City Decks and Patio are professional in every way and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Their people and their workmanship are excellent and they are great to deal with.
