BEWARE: I moved to Chattanooga, in for workIn 2011, leased a house from RCPM and stayed there for yearsBefore signing the lease, had several friends to "warn" me about River City Property ManagementLooked up some online reviews and most were negative, but this was the house that we wanted to live in So we figured we wouldn't get our deposit back, as per online reviews, but nice house and neighborhoodyears later, my job was over and we decided not to renew the leaseWe notified the company, as per lease, and moved out We were never notified about when the walk through would be and wahla, we get a bill for almost $4000, this is above the $we put up for deposit The statement of charges they provided us was filled with excessive and elevated chargesWe disputed this and were willing to negotiate for some reasonable solution, but that failed to happenToday I was contacted by a collection agency, trying to collect that so-called debt We never were contacted about a smalls claim court appearance, so now we have to get an attorney to see what are options are I wouldn't recommend RCPM to my ex-wife, or anybody else I didn't care forIf you're going to lease with them, my advice is not to But if you are, then try to negotiate the security deposit down as low as possible, because you're not going to get it backAnd be prepared to be billed excessively for wear and tear BEWARE
I have been a tenant with River City Property *** for almost years nowThe first two years were pretty greatThen the rent started to increase and the service decreasedThis year (2015) my air unit completely went out and no one would fix itAlthough my lease said they were responsible for it, they took almost six months to fix this until finally it broke down and I was left to live in degree weatherNo one ever offered to provide a simple fanThe land lord would not return any calls or contact meFinally after I became physically sick living in this degree weather I called gathered all my family and friends from out of state to bombard them with calls until my air unit was fixedI contacted news sources as well They will collect and increase your rent, but fixing things for the renter is an issueThe bright spot is I have a roof over my head, but it sucks that River City will not fix household problems, but they sure will collect rentIf you have another choice , do not rent from these peopleplease
