River City Supply Reviews (3)

We have received countless phone calls from this company over a two year period. They are relentless. We do not want to order from them again. This began during the XXXX-XX school year. There are more incidents that we can express. The new principal at this school had ordered from River City Supply at his previous school, so they naturally began trying to contact him at his new assignment, hoping to get him to place an order. Apparently the sales representatives at this company are trained to be very aggressive and insistent when they contact a place of business. We are a very busy middle school, with things happening in the main office all day long. When we first began receiving calls from River City Supply, the sales lady asked to speak to "[redacted]". Naturally, we assumed she was a personal friend, as most professional persons would ask to speak to Dr. [redacted], as that is his professional title. He does not stay in his office all the time, as it is his regular practice to be out and about in the school. [redacted] (the sales lady from River City Supply) would call back during the day continually in her determination to speak to him personally and get him to place an order. We are much too busy in the school's main office to have to leave our work and get out and hunt him to take her call. After all her efforts were fruitless, she obviously got very agitated, and began to become more aggressively insistent with us, which naturally did not bode well with the office staff. She simply would not take no for an answer. After a time, when the office staff saw on our desk phone's caller ID identification that River City Supply was calling, we began to let it ring and did not answer. When she realized we were doing this, then she began using a cell phone and the caller ID just showed "PRIVATE". After a few incidents of our answering these calls, and going through the same harassing situation with Christy, then we chose to disregard the calls showing "PRIVATE". It was our hope that they had given up on West Middle School. However, this week, it has started again. One of the office workers this week answered the phone (it showed on caller ID as "PRIVATE". She is new to the office staff and did not know the situation. The "gentleman" identified himself as [redacted], and asked to speak to [redacted] (Dr. [redacted]). Dr. [redacted] was not in his office. Then yesterday, the secretary answered a call (caller ID showed "PRIVATE") and the person asked to speak to [redacted] (Dr. [redacted]). Again, Dr. [redacted] was not in his office. When asked his name, the person identified "himself" as Sally Struthers. We WILL NOT ANSWER calls that show on caller ID as "PRIVATE". This person who called yesterday was very agitated and rude. This has gone on far too long. We will never order from this company again. That is what got us in this situation in the first place. Dr. [redacted] did order once from them last year, which has turned out to be a big mistake. The merchandise he ordered, we did not really need, but he did it just to get this company off our back, and now they are trying again. We are tired of their harassment. Desired SettlementOur wish is simply that this company will leave us alone. We do not have the time to continually hunt down the principal. We are not going to order from them again.Business Response [redacted] has been a long term customer of River City Supply, LLC and our sales person [redacted] has had a good releationship with him. [redacted] told [redacted] to call him back because he was going to order more products from her but the secretary will not put the phone call thru which I guess lead to the aggressive calls. If Mickey would have called [redacted] back and told her he did not need anything right now she would have ceased calling him until the appropriate time. Instead the secretary decided to take it upon herself to screen the calls and be unprofessional. [redacted] has been removed from our system!

A customer service rep called our organization every day for almost a year, he was rude to our receptionist and left offensive messages for our staff. In October of 2012, [redacted], a representative from River City Supply, LLC contacted a staff person from our Organization and was very pushy in an effort to sell personalized items. The staff person agreed to purchase pencils because [redacted] was incredibly pushy and could not get him to say no. The staff person clearly stated that we are a non-profit organization and work on grant funds and that we would not be able to consider any other purchases until the following fiscal year. [redacted] continued to call over and over every day and after some time became very rude and offensive. The receptionist of our organization has saved messages where he as used offensive language or screamed "Police" as part of his message. Our staff has left a message with River City asking to be removed from the call list and to complain about this person. He continued to call even after this complaint. Today 9/18/13 a woman has started calling and does not want to leave a message or her name. We would like them to stop these aggressive tactics. We do not wish to purchase any other items from this company. We do not want our receptionist and staff to be harrased any longer by anyone from this company. Desired SettlementStop calling us and remove us from your call list. Business Response This is the first notice I've received from the Revdex.com regarding this complaint. [redacted] has been removed from our call list. No one from River City Supply, LLC should be calling her. There are other companies like ours here in Memphis that she could be getting us confused with. If [redacted] receives anymore calls from my company she should email [redacted] and I will take care of it. I am the owner. [redacted] was the sales person that she must have been referring to in her complaint. If she receives anymore calls please email me and please get the sales persons name so I know who to go to to resolve her issue.

Telemarketers misrepresented their company and were rude.Telemarketers would not identify their company; they call and misrepresent their company; fail to state what type of item they are selling.Desired SettlementRemove our organization's name from telemarketing list.Business Response It's my understanding that this customer was extremly rude with one of my sales reps. His number has been removed from our system. We no longer wish to sell to the organization he works for. Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Sales Representatives do not identify the company they represent or items they are selling. They use deception. They are rude once potential customers begin questioning. Marketing practices are similar to telemarketers and collection agencies. In my office, the secretary has posted warnings about phone calls from this company. The Tennessee attorney general needs to review the practices of this company.
