I recently took in a bench seat for my truck was looking to get re-done. The owner Ron estimated my seat and told me it would be done within ten days no problem and would call me if done sooner. 2 weeks go by and I didn't hear one word, not one call or anything about my seats, I decided to do a surprised stop by only to find the shop was closed during his open hours...had a sign on door that he would be back at 1pm this was at 1:30pm. So I call the owner Ron and ask his about my seats he proceeds to tell me he hasn't started them and started trying to make [redacted] excuses saying we didn't pick a material to re do it with, complete lie I picked everything out for the seats when I dropped it off. With that being said even if I didn't (which I did ) why would he tell me 10 days then not even try and call me one time for 2 weeks to pick a material? I told Ron to forget it and I'll pick em up, that's that went in and seats weren't moved an inch only difference was the material I picked for it wasn't sitting on it anymore. Take your business elsewhere where it will actually get done people, river city is a complete joke. Don't want people going thru a 2 week waste of time for no reason! Thank you

My experience with this company was terrible. I took a boat in for some upholstery repair last fall and it took over 7 months for them to get it done. Mid summer of the following year before I got my boat back. When I called half way through to check, the owner said, "you never gave me a deposit to start the work." I said, "why didn't you call to ask about that?" Then even after the deposit it took quite a while to get the work done.
But my biggest complaint is that when I brought the boat in the owner promised to include a boat cover along with the work he was doing. Again, when I called him while trying to figure out when I would get my boat back and was talking to his employee and confirmed again from the emplolyee, who asked the owner while I was on the phone about the free boat cover.
However, after all this time that they had my boat and all the challenges getting it back, when I finally came to pick it up....no boat cover. I told him he had promised this and he said ok, he would do it, but he couldn't do it until October. I had him write this on the receipt and sign it that I could have a boat cover and he put October 14 on the receipt. I waited until October 29 to call him...figuring this would give him extra time to get out of his busy season. But when I called, he said," sorry, we had a date, October 14. You didn't show up so you are out of luck. Now I am under no obligation to give you a boat cover."
I am amazed at this response, especially after the poor experience I had with the boat. Please do not make the mistake I did of going to this company for upholstery work.
