River Lodge

Review: My 16 year old daughter and I moved to River Lodge LLC in February of 2012. At that time we were sold on the apartment due to swimming pool, river dock, friendly atmosphere. The pool has a sign on the gate stating that if you are under the age of 14, you must be accompanied by an adult. My daughter at age 16 was told by [redacted], Owner/Manager to leave the premises of the pool because I was not with her in the pool area. My daughter then pursued swimming in the river, off of the dock, but was also sent away from there. I believe this is discrimination. Another complaint I have is that [redacted] was all for me helping around her apartment complexes to make extra money, to help pay my rent. She then told me without warning that my services were not needed anymore, putting me in a financial bind. Her paying me was strictly cash/rent. She did not sign me up as an employee but I worked for her from Feb. into June 2012. My main complaint was that her husband, [redacted] entered my apartement unannounced in May I believe to leave a list of summer rules.. My daughter was in the shower at the time and reported this to me. I confronted [redacted] with this problem, and was told that her husband is Bi-polar and that he has episodes. I told her that this was unappropriate.In December, about a week before Christmas, my daughter was once again in the bathroom when she heard a knock on the door. She thought it was me when she heard the key unlock the door. She was on her way out to help me, when she realized it was once again [redacted]. He was setting a Christmas card on the counter. My daughter told me that we couldn't stay there any longer because she was afraid. Her father said that we should move so I then gave [redacted] a notice saying we would be out of the apartment by Feb. 1st and explained the unannounced entries into my apartment. We were basically forced to move which caused a great financial hardship to us.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive the deposit I have had to remit for my new place at $725. I feel I am also entitled to first and last months rent at my new place in the amount of $1450. A refund for a uhaul and two helpers at $150.Sara, my daughter would like to be compensated for discrimination in use of the facilities and for her and her friends embarassment by being told they couldn't use the facilities. She is willing to settle for $350.Financial hardship was inevitable when no longer employed.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9499963, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I reject such response from the business and I too have documentation, but since my abrupt move, I still have most of it packed and will be including sworn statements with regards to my complaints. I am asking for an extension to gather such information. I reject the response from [redacted] stating that if I wish to pursue to take this to small claims court as your agency cannot do anything.
