Riverdale Laundry picked up *** *** laundry on 4/*/The only instruction given to us at the time of pick up was LOW DRY(we have the physical receipt for proof) We washed, dried (low heat) and
folded her clothes and returned her clothing on 4/*/There was no complaint from 4/*/to 4/**/Then on 4/**/we received a call from *** *** in which she claimed her clothing is shrunk and missingWe explained to her that we followed her directions and dried her clothes with low heat as instructedAs for her lost clothes we asked if she can please come in to the store to see if she can locate anything hereShe replied she didn't have time*** *** lives blocks away from Riverdale LaundryIf what she claims is true I would assume she would at least try to find the clothes she claims are lostInstead we received a complaint by mail on 4/**/14, not even after she called our store the first time to complain giving us no time to correct any mishapsWe weight laundry when they are first brought to the store and weighed again when it leaves to make sure their is no discrepancy*** ***s laundry was no differentIf clothes were missing there would be a weight difference which there was none for *** *** laundryWe tried to resolve this issue with *** *** directly however she has not given us a chance nor is she willing to let us

Riverdale Laundry has tried to work with [redacted] in her concern for her lost and shrunk clothing. When she called the store to complain that her clothing was shrunk and lost we asked which items were missing and shrunk in which she never addressed. We asked for her to come into the store to look for any loose items that maybe hers which she refused. When [redacted] gave us the laundry she notified us to use low heat for drying which we followed. We also weighed her laundry when it came in and when it left for delivery. The weight did not have any discrepancies. If there was we would have immediately know there were clothing missing. We have also contacted [redacted] after words and she had agreed to meet with us to solve the issue. She said she would call us when she was ready to meet. However we still have not heard from her yet. If a customer has a concern with their laundry we always try to help solve the matter I n a respectful tone and manner. We would also like to point out we did not yell, raise our voice, nor deflect any blame or responsibility to [redacted] at any point in our meetings or phone calls.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[When I spoke to the business owner I told her she shrunk and lost my clothing, but she would not in ANY way whatsoever address my actual complaints. Instead, she would only emphasize the amount of days between when they did my laundry (4/*) and when I complained (4/**). The amount of time that passed was the one and only thing she was willing to talk about. When I tried very hard to get her to address the fact that my clothing was returned shrunken beyond use and important pieces were missing, she became belligerent, raising her voice and insisting nothing was wrong. It was impossible to get her to address my complaint for even a single moment, she could only shout dates at me. Honestly it seemed like she was hoping that because I took a couple of weeks to complain that the timing would deflect her responsibility. Well I travel for work for a living to support my two small children and my husband, and I was out of town for much of the time between 4/*--4/**. It took me until 4/** to completely empty out the bag, and to discover the missing and damaged items. I don't think that should mean that she is not responsible as a business owner for damage done by her business.
In regards to her offer for me to come talk to her in person, she only "offered" that after a very long process of fighting her to please just address my concern for even one moment. She would not in any way take any responsibility and it was obvious that having the same conversation with her in person would not be productive. In addition, I am not only working but am also a full-time graduate student with two very small children. As simple as it may seem to walk on over to her business to talk with her, I am currently in the middle of final exams and on a rigid schedule for the next few weeks. My time is limited and more than that, if I felt that she was willing to address my complaint AT ALL, I would have been happy to go there and speak with her. Instead, once again, she just kept shouting and repeating that she did nothing wrong, everything was fine. Frankly, she was nasty to me. If you go to her [redacted] reviews and you'll see others have complained about the exact same thing, word for word. I'm not making it up. You can't just lose someone's clothing and shrink it and not be held accountable. You don't just answer a customer's call and shout at them deflecting responsibility. This woman was in no way reasonable or even talking to me. I had to fight to get even a word in over her aggressive shouting "We return everything! You get everything! We don't shrink it ok!!" If this is her response to a legitimate complaint, how else am I supposed to proceed with out a mediator like the Revdex.com. You can't just ruin people's clothing and lose it. I work hard to support my family and it's not okay.

Review: Over a several week time frame, the laundromat lost 11 articles of clothing valued at $200. When I tried to talk to them about it, they did not want to hear about it and said they didn't lose anything. My wife did a clothing inventory and noticed all of the missing articles of clothing, most of them were for my 2 year old son.Desired Settlement: I would like the cost of the items refunded to me. I spent about $125/week between laundry and dry cleaning for several months, so I don't think what I am asking for is unreasonable.
