Review: I gave a $100.00 dollar deposit on a car was told I would have it in three days, after ten days still no car or clue when it would arrive. So on a Wednesday I called and told [redacted] the car dealer I would be in on Sat. to pick up my cash deposit after my one hour ride one way he told me it was sent in the mail. After waiting a week still no check I called to speak to a manager to find out check was not sent.Desired Settlement: get my full deposit back

Review: Our family wasshopping around for a new toyota we stopped in to riverhead toyota spoke with a salesman about a new truck. Salesman told us they needed a refundable deposit in order to start search for vehicle we wanted. upon finding out we could get a better deal from another local dealer we immediately informed Riverhead Toyota that we would not be proceeding with the transaction. We were told we would be refunded it has now been over a week with no refund and two weeks since we opted out of wehicle. Riverheads [redacted] was extremely unprofessional and hung up on us when we asked to speak with him about where our refund was. He stated it was refunded on Friday, we are now at Tuesday and we still do not have the money back on our debit card. I contacted the bank and they informed us that no refund has been initiated. They are now in the process of a dispute in order to get us our money back.Desired Settlement: All I would like is for Riverhead to refund us back our deposit as well as admit that they are in the wrong. We gave it to them the same day there is no reason we should be forced to wait over two weeks to be refunded especially when we did not purchase anything from them and they instead reciprocated with utter rudeness.

Review: In early May 2015, I leased a vehicle from Riverhead Toyota. The salesman was Charles M[redacted]. Upon delivery, I did not notice that the tonneau cover was missing (it appears on the list of options on the window sticker). I noticed it when I went to return to Florida on 05/**/2015. I called the salesman and advised. He said he would order and have it shipped directly to me. I have made numerous follow-up calls to dealership. I have spoken to Charles and Patrick in parts. Everyone says they will check the status and call me back. I have also left many voicemail messages for Charles and the Manager. No one calls me back. I call there at least one per week. I will submit call log if needed. In the past 2 days, I have even left messages for the manager and he has not returned my call either. This has been going on for over 4 months. I have purchased vehicles from this dealership before, however this will be the last one that I ever get from Riverhead Toyota. I will never recommend to this dealership to any of my friends.Desired Settlement: I would like the tonneau cover that was supposed to be part of my vehicle. At this point, I would like it overnighted to me. If this is not possible, I would like a refund for the value of the tonneau cover to purchase it at a local dealership. plus $250 to cover my time and aggravation trying to get this resolved.

We have tried to contact the cust and never seem to connect. Riverhead Toyota was under the knowledge that the cust had the Tonneau cover because it's a standard item that comes with the vehicle. To resolve this problem we have ordered the Tonneau cover and are shipping the item to her home in Florida. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I finally received a return call from the dealership and they have advused that they have ordered the item and will ship to me here. I will not consider this resolved until I receive the item. As for the dealership not being aware, that is hogwash. Also, if the tried to call me and was not able to connect, the calls would have shown up in my missed call log or in my voice mail. Nothing is there. I notified the salesman after the delivery, that the item was missing. When I was able to speak with him, he kept telling me it was ordered. Also spoke to a Patrick in the parts department. Apparently the sales manager does not have all the facts. As I said previously, I will consider this resolved only upon receipt of the item.

Review: 2005 Toyota Tacoma Air bag warning light activated, paid dealer $500 to repair spiral cable. Air bag warning light subsequently reactivated. Vehicle repaired a second time with new spiral cable under Factory Recall ID # [redacted] - AIR BAGS:FRONTAL (2005 Toyota Tacoma) and repair cost was reimbursed. Air bag subsequently failed again and vehicle was returned to dealer for repair.

Dealer declined to repair vehicle under recall, offered to perform the FACTORY RECALL repair by replacing the engine wiring harness for $2,300. Dealer contacted Toyota USA, which sent field rep to inspect. Dealer subsequently offered to repair FACTORY RECALL for about half the price previously quoted.

Wording of the factory recall notice is explicit:

"DUE TO COMBINATION OF FACTORS, A PART IN THE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY IN YOUR VEHICLE CALLED THE SPIRAL CABLE MAY BECOME DAMAGED. IF DAMAGE OCCURS, THIS CAN AFFECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION TO SEVERAL SYSTEMS, INCLUDING THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG. SUCH DAMAGE WOULD CAUSE THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT TO STAY ON AFTER STARTING THE ENGINE, AND THE AIR BAG MAY NOT WORK. THIS COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY TO THE DRIVER IN A CRASH IN WHICH THE AIR BAG IS DESIGNED TO INFLATE."

Recall indicates that damage to the spiral cable "CAN AFFECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION TO SEVERAL SYSTEMS". One of these systems is the engine wiring harness. No other electrical systems show any damage or failure, the only failure remains the front air bag. The vehicle has not been in any accidents, floods or experienced any other damage or action that would cause such failure. In addition the air bag is the only system failure in the vehicle.

This has been demonstrated to Riverhead Toyota, who directed me to Toyota USA, who directed me back to Riverhead Toyota, where the [redacted] refuses to return my calls. This is a classical circle jerk, with one person pointing to another, who points back to the first.

In the meantime I am left with a vehicle that has a primary safety system that does not function, making the vehicle less safe, and thereby severely diminishing resale value.Desired Settlement: Riverhead Toyota should repair the vehicle at no cost to me, and warranty the repair for a full year.

I am the [redacted] for riverheadtoyota. I have had conversation with this customer [redacted], Riverheadtoyota has no obligation to repair said vehicle. The recall was performed as per Toyota, the spiral cable was replaced also known as the clockspring. This repair was performed 1/*/2013 at 62126 miles. Customer returned 2/**/2013, 64804 miles was told needs a wire harness not covered under warranty or any recall. Customer declined repair, estimate given 2300.00. [redacted] returned over a year later on 4/**/2014 @ 73400 miles with same concern, again we diagnosed vehicle needing a wire harness.. The same harness as last visit approx. cost of repair 2300.00.. Customer declined repairs, thinks should be under recall or warranty. There are no outstanding recalls on said vehicle. Vehicle does not have an existing warranty either.

Customer called Toyota Motor Company and was told no coverage and is not under any recall or warranty. Customer called here again and was told no coverage no warranty..

base warranty on this vehicle is 3/36000 bumper to bumper

5/60000 miles on powertrain

8/80000 miles federal warranty covering only cat convertors and or ecm, known as engine computer.

It is unfortunate that this has happened.

If Riverhead Toyota has no obligation to repair a Toyota factory recall, why were repairs attempted twice?

Riverhead Toyota claims the vehicle was fixed under recall, but the vehicle continues to exhibit the specific problem described by the recall - air bag warning light. Riverhead Toyota has attempted to fixed this item twice and each time the repair has failed. Now they claim major repairs are necessary - at my expense - to fix a recall item.

In regard to this specific factory recall (ID # [redacted]), warranty coverage and vehicle mileage are irreverent. This is a factory recall of a basic safety system.

2006 tacoma truck 4 cylynder , into rvhtoyota on 11-*-2015 , for its 3rd recall on frame, they could not get it to us till december **,2015 where we drove it home and it broke down do to a radiater coil that was not properly installed doing frame recall repair, no phone call , after havinb truck towed back to rvhtoyota, we had to call them numerous times to find out about truck .no offer of courteous car no nothing.terrible service .
