Riverland Chrysler, Dodge & Jeep, Inc. Reviews (6)

When [redacted] was doing the paperwork with his salesperson, our salesperson was informed that the payoff on [redacted]'s trade-in was $2,461.84.  Our salesperson, in fact, noted that number on our "payoff sheet", and [redacted] signed the affidavit which states the following:"I...

understand and agree that Riverland Chrysler Dodge Jeep Inc. and myself have estimated a payoff figure on my vehicle, which I intend to trade-in.  I further understand and agree that in the event that there is a discrepancy between the sum estimated and the amount actually owed to the lending institution which financed the vehicle that I am trading in, I will be obligated to pay the difference on demand."After the sale, we sent the payoff check of $2,461.84 to Hyundai Motor Finance, only to find out that the payoff amount was substantially higher.  In fact, the payoff on the day [redacted] did his initial paperwork with us was over $20,000.  We surmise that the error occurred because the payoff was approximately $20,400, not approximately $2,400.  Riverland Chrysler Dodge Jeep Inc., was able to secure financing for [redacted] which would incorporate the correct payoff amount, but the monthly payment was higher than [redacted] wanted to pay, and as a result, the dealership and [redacted] mutually agreed to rescind the original sale, and [redacted] was given his trade-in back, and he returned the Dodge Charger to us.  [redacted] was not charged for the use or mileage on the Charger. It should be noted that when speaking with [redacted] about the mistake, he informed several of our employees, including our finance manager, that he knew from day one that the payoff amount we had estimated was not correct, but he chose to sign the paperwork anyway without alerting the Finance Manager to the difference.

I have spoken to [redacted] this morning and set an appointment for her to bring her tittle and vehicle to our dealership, and I will personally make sure her problem is corrected at no cost to her.

In response to Ms Triggs complaint I have got statements from both employees ( salesperson and Finance mgr) as to what transpired on Ms Triggs deal. She was originally approved with $4000 down payment thru Chrysler Capital. When she came in she said she only wanted to put down $3000, a $1000 less...

than the approval. It was worked out for her to take delivery of the vehicle with only $3500. Ms Triggs told me that the finance mgr was hiding  and folding the papers so she couldn't see the $3500 figure but if you look at the attached Buyers order you will se her signature on the left side right below the $3500 figure. Also she told you she came in with $6000. In the course of 3 conservations I had with her she said [redacted] gave her 6000,8000 and Tuesday she told me she had $10000 from him....call him and ask him.Attached you will also find the sale contract which also shows $3500. Ms Triggs also acknowledged to he that she was in receipt of the attached paperwork.

Review: I was sold a 2007 Dodge Pick Up truck by Riverlands Dodge in 2007. I have had several people question the Vehicle Identification Number since I bought the truck. I received the attached letter in the mail from the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections dated January 28, 2016 stating that the dealership that I purchased the vehicle from mixed up the Certificate of Origins and that the VIN on my title does not match the VIN on my vehicle. They are stating that they placed a "Stop on my record"? and that I have to do a lengthy list of things and pay several fees. I do not feel that I am responsible for this as I am not the one that mixed up the Certificate of Origin. I had tried to have Riverlands Dodge correct this years ago but did not have any luck. You and they can speak to my wife regarding this as she handles these things for me. Her name is Julie Schmalz and I listed her contact number. I do not have the time or the funds to take care of someone else's mistakes.Desired Settlement: I would like Riverlands to take care of getting the Vin number corrected on the paperwork from the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and COrrections and pay the fees that need to be paid.

Review: Took my brand new 2013 Ram truck in for service for a faulty NAV system. Noticed two service technicians smoking INSIDE the service bay. Asked service advisor to not have the techs smoking in or around my truck as the smell of smoke makes me ill. 30 minutes later walk by service department window and I see a technician standing inside my trucks open drivers side door with a cigarette in his hand. I complain to an employee standing 5 feet away and I didn't get two sentences out before she said "I'll take care of it" and walked into service bay. I immediately walked out to service advisor to tell him too after I specifically asked they not do that. He said he'd talk to them too.10 minutes later I am called into the office of [redacted], the service director, and he tells me his is refusing the service on my truck, saying he was "doing me a favor" by servicing my truck and telling me he is bringing my truck around and I can go somewhere else. So to him doing work for a Chrysler customer, is doing them a favor, and complaining about service technicians smoking in and around customer's personal vehicles is grounds to refuse service and kick you out, even though by the way, this violates their contract with Chrysler corporation, and smoking inside a service bay is just terrible business practices too.Desired Settlement: I'd like to see [redacted] relived of his duties at Riverland. His unprofessional attitude and low tier customer service and the way he views customers is not good for Chrysler or this dealer. I would also like to see the dealer instill new business practices that does NOT allow their employees to smoke inside the dealer, inside the service bay, or anywhere within 25 feet of a customers car. Anything less and I will not use, or recommend anybody use, this dealer in the future.

To whom it may concern:

My name is [redacted], the new Parts and Service Director here at Riverland Chrysler. The gentleman that made that complaint performed profane verbal acts in front of Riverland Chrysler employees and other customers. Once this gentleman pointed out his complaint, it was taken care of at that moment. As he continued to rant and rave, he was asked to leave. We have no problem dealing with a customers concerns or complaints. When a customer acts in the manner as this gentleman, we reserve the right to refuse service as such. As for the gentleman making the complaint with Riverland Chrysler, we have no problem servicing his vehicle, and with saying that, we will not tolerate any type of verbal abuse.

Review: I went into the business to purchase a new vehicle. I had $6000 cash but wanted to put only $3000 down. I was told because of my credit my notes would be $700 monthly. I told the salesperson I wanted note to be $500 monthly only so they showed me a car in that range. I was told the bank would only accept $4000 deposit so this is what I gave in cash. My spouse can vouch as he was there. I asked for a receipt but was told it would be listed on the bill of sale. At the end of the day they salesperson pointed where I needed to sign and folded the paperwork then handed it to me. I trusted him and he knew I was desperate and tired. I didn't look at my contract until a month later and found he pocket $500 and wrote on paperwork I gave $3500. I feel so ashamed for trusting him. The sales lady then walked me in a males office where the money transaction happened. His name is not listed on the contract as he sold me the car. Shortly after this sale he resigned from the company. They tried calling but he failed to answer. Flakey!!!Desired Settlement: put the $500 towards my car as it was meant.
