When mister *** made us aware of his issue with the truckWe referred him to take it to a shop and to call our warranty hotline through our Napa autocare centerThey provide a warranty on all repairs that we have performed (when the vehicles are outside of our service area)Apparently
they have denied his claimThis would indicate that the repairs we performed were not the cause of this next issueWhen we repaired the leaking Turbo pedestal there was no oil leaking at that timeAs with any vehicle with 143k miles there is a chance that it had other problemsWhen you replace any leak on a high pressure system, you create added pressure after the repair is complete (back to original spec)It`s possible that the turbo then manifested a leak from a hairline fracture on the unit after the initial repairThat doesn`t suggest that we did anything wrong or incorrectIt only suggests the truck has additional problems upstream nowWe haven`t seen any documents from Ford at this timeWe can assume that they have been in contact with the warranty company

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: Mr S[redacted] apparently did not understand my complaint. Napa Auto Care Warranty only covers a failed component! My frustration is that the parts installed on my sons vehicle were not the source of his oil leak. The misdiagnosis of the vehicle is my complaint. I have obtained a professional opinion from a authorized Ford Dealer, upon inspection they found the source of the oil leak. They ( Ford Dealership ) stated that the turbo had a crack that that entered the oil passage and that this was the source of the major oil leak. Replacing the turbo pedestal and o-rings would not have been the source of the amount of oil that this vehicle was leaking. I informed the service writer at Rivers Edge that the vehicle leaked over 3 gallons of oil when my son initially brought his vehicle in for repair. The fact that the service writer stated that the vehicle did not leak any oil after they completed the work is very hard to believe. when my son left the repair shop ( Rivers Edge ) and headed home to Montana he called me and stated that he had already had to add 4 quarts of oil in less than 100 miles from the repair shop. If Rivers Edge had test driven the vehicle after the repairs they would have surely seen that the vehicle was not fixed yet. When I called back to Rivers Edge the next day, the service writer stated that my son must have cracked the turbo when he left the repair shop. The statement that the service writer made in my opinion was very unprofessional. I have been a master mechanic in the automotive trade for over 30 plus years, I find that type of response is what damages shops like mine in the automotive field. I am not looking for full reimbursement , I just feel they ( Rivers Edge ) should at least help cover the costs of the to fix the vehicle correctly.Sincerely,[redacted]
