Review: I bought a used car at riverside auto back in February of 2013.we took it for a test drive everything seemed to be ok, that night my kids dad and children got locked out of the car due to wireless key entry system failing. [redacted] had to come out and let them in the vechicle the following day vibrating was going on in my car and I called [redacted] and his other employee [redacted] who sold me the car for about eight days no return phone call was told bring it in they will look at it . [redacted] didn't have mechanic look at it he lifted the hood and guessed it was the coil so they told me if I brought it in they would change the coil I left it there for eight hours , then I was told I was being charged for the coil which I was told goes bad because a car sits in the cold weather 120 dollars I wasn't paying that . [redacted] forgot my car was done at shop and was heading home until I called him and asked about it he finally brought it to me the vibrating still continued that's why I told him I wasn't paying for damage that came with the car and the damage is still ongoing . now its months into it I have gotten attorney general involved and dmv . dmv wanted me to take it to [redacted] personally because after all this he didn't know of a problem six months later . the mechanic didn't look at it then either under any lifts or diagnostic testing just lifted the hood both [redacted] and mechanic , which I don't believe is licensed said it was rear end damage or transmission problems. [redacted] told me if I bought the transmission they would do the work for nothing . I waited for for them to order the wireless key entry only to find out they fixed the one I already had now my door comes apart .im taking it to small claims but I know im not the only one complaining about this business. why aren't we able to shut them down? I know I signed a statement saying the car was sold as is but I still have 30 days to report problems and I did that . im hoping if anything people will see this complaint and not buy a car from them to keep them in busines

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

I want money back from car because if they were going to fix it they wouldn't have put me through all this trouble to get it fixed. Now that I have involved others higher up they might not fix it right out of being upset and I cant be there to watch the work being done. a new transmission is gonna cost me the price of a new used car.

[redacted] did buy the jeep from us and took it fully aware of the drivers door lock and the button to open the door not working properly. When she bought the car she clearly knew this and we made an appointment for her at the jeep dealership to get the button on the lock working properly because the key would not work in the door. There is no reason for her to act like she didn't know.

When she bought the jeep she had her boyfriend or friend with her who was mechanically inclined drive the jeep and look the jeep over. the jeep ran and drove fine the only issue was the key for the door. She wouldn't have bought the jeep if there was an issue. That night about 7:30 she called me because they had locked themselves out of the car in the stop and shop parking lot so I went and unlocked the door for them. This was about the time we had that big snow storm with a couple feet of snow. She did not complain about anything else with the jeep. a week or so later I think it was she came in and complained about a sputtering so it was scanned and it was a coil which is very common in used cars because they are old. She didn't pay for it. no complaints about any vibration or anything just the check engine lite and sputtering when given gas. This was after the snowstorm happened. A few weeks later I believe she called or came in and complained about a slight vibration at slow speed. I drove it along with the boyfriend or friend and agreed that there was a very slight vibration at slow speed,it seemed like maybe a driveshaft u joint starting to go. he agreed and explained to her that stuff happens. The boyfriend or friend explained that that usually happenes from gunning the gas and burning out. I asked her if she had gotten stuck during the storm or was in high snow and needed to accelerate to get out from being stuck. She said no. I asked if anyone else drove the car, she also said no weird because when I first met them to open the locked door the night they bought the jeep he was driving but now all of a sudden no one but her drives it and also in 2 feet of snow where everyone gets stuck and needs to hit the gas to accelerate out from being stuck in a snow bank they don't need to. They told me they park on the street by the way so I assume they got plowed in a little and had to shovel out a bit. Anyhow I told her that in any case whatever it is we could help her get it fixed, she said she wasn't paying for anything. I explained to her that the car is 15 years old and has about 150,000 miles on it and she signed all the Ct paperwork that clearly states in 2 places that she is buying the car as-is and it is bought as is and that you have to pay no matter where you bought the car from. They are used cars and they are mechanical and they do break. Her boyfriend or friend explained the same to her but she didn't want to hear it. I told her that worse case if it gets worse to buy a used transmission and we woud put it in for free. I priced a used transmission for the 15 year old jeep and could get one for $150.00. We opened the hood to look at the wires going to the coil packs to see if one happened to come unplugged and also to check the fluids, tranny fluid and oil. The first time she came The tranny fluid was way overfull and she said she didn't know why I said to her to ask the mechanic boyfriend and told her we would drain the excess out the next time they came some of the fluid mysteriously vanished and it was where it should be.

Funny how they brought the car to a transmission shop about 5 months later and was trying to get the owner to write something up saying that they had bought the car with a transmission issue from me months earlier. I know that because it is the shop where I take cars to that have transmission problems and he told me that. Funny how this same girl complained to attorney general about brakes and some other things but when I got her on the phone at the same with someone at the attorney generals office she backtracked and switched her story up.
