I was hung up on also
First, let me say at first the service was friendly. I receive my dumpster quickly and had it picked up quickly. A few days after pick up I receive a weight overage bill. I requested an independent weight that was evidenced to be certified or calibrated. Since weight is a variable and your credit card remains open for Riverside to bill at will it seems reasonable that a weighing station would be independent of Riverside with a regulatory requirement to be certified as weight consistent. I was provided a copy of the weight. but nothing that remsembled a printed ticked that officially confirmed anything. Since weight is a financial variable it is fair that one could have concerns about inherent dishonesty. I was told I should feel lucky that I was not charged/ billed for several tires that were inadvertently added to the dumpster. I ended that conversation by asking if this is the last charge to my card. No other charges were pending. I was assured this was final. The next day I received an additional charge identified for the tires in the dumpster. I called and asserted that I was told no additional charges and my bill was final. I was informed that that claim had no relevance and that I needed to look at the contract. It is clear this business is a family business. The attitudes and how business is conducted are uniform and would only be accepted in a family business. I would never recommend this family business to anyone. It is reasonable that all future customers demand proof of weight. Find a business that uses a certified scale independent of the business that can show proof of weight calibration.

Addendum to terrible customer service
I actually need to correct my statement I did not get a chance to read the complaint from the other customer the only thing that is available to see is the reply from the company and again that is poor customer service
we should be able to hear what other people are saying.. not just what Riverside says to defend their rude and inconsiderate employees
I get the feeling that my review will also be hidden by Riverside because it directly contradicts what their defense is
I have not written a novel on exactly how the conversation went but they are argumentative with customers and if they don't agree with what you are saying they do hang up on you that is a fact it happened today to me and it happened approximately 3 weeks ago when I first tried to cancel my account and was told that it's not a temporary thing and I needed to pay $75 because of the high gas prices to have it removed so yes they do hang up on people and they do treat customers horribly on the phone

Terrible customer service
I noticed upon reading the above review and response the claim was that they never hang up on customers and I have had two women hang up on me twice when I was trying to get the dumpster removed and they were telling me they wanted to extort $75 for gas money for removal
On two occasions I was hung up on they were rude they told me I needed to pay the $75 immediately and it has been 10 days since they took my money out of my account I called them to ask them when they would remove it and again received a rude person on the other line and she hung up on me when I told them I would start billing them for storage
I also asked them not to come during the winter until I called them due to driveway melting down in mud ruts and they do not communicate with their drivers they showed up and tore the hell out of my driveway even though I asked them to wait until I called so yeah they may not be too many reviews here but the customer service is terrible the drivers were okay the people answering the phone need to learn better customer service skills

He requested that we pay the 125.00 bill from his "dish guy" but said the siding that was damaged was "very small and not a problem". We opted to remove the dumpster due to the difficult task of servicing it. We have indeed credited Mr. [redacted]'s account for partial April service and "wrote off" the remaining balance that he owes, 160.00. Mr. [redacted] was compensated more than what he was asking for. At Riverside Disposal we pride ourselves in providing excellent customer service. There is not one person on our team that would ever "hang up" on a customer. We go to great lengths to keep our customer happy. We do care about patronage, customer service and keeping our word. Please let me know if there are any further questions that need to be answered.
