Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
That was not the agreement at all. This agreement was exactly the ***e as the previous one with plumbing - final payment upon job's satisfactory completion. The range hood mentioned was the wrong hood for my house and not usable. This was communicated to *** ***. *** *** is welcome to retrieve it - in fact, I asked him to do so two months ago. *** *** abandoned the work. If he can show me sufficient receipts for the materials he purchased for my job that are beyond my estimate I am happy to reimburse him. Keep in mind, I paid $for employment which is $an hour. *** *** worked on site only hours. I need to see receipts totaling an estimated $if *** *** is expecting keep the $honestly. When I requested a $refund I estimated the possible time it might have taken to procure materials and added that to labor charge. That was generous. In addition, *** *** was unable to make the repairs as promised. No siding was purchased and I chose instead to paint the spot where the chimney had been. This was also communicated to *** ***.
Sincerely,
*** ***

I quoted Ms.[redacted] $1100.00 to do home repairs for her. I required 60% down which came to $710.00 and the remainder due once the job began. I explained we could start the project in 3 weeks, we began the work and before we could finish the job, she said she was not happy with the price of my service...

and would not be paying any remainder balance on her project. I explained I could not finish any work that she was not going to be paid for. The oven hood and materials purchased for this project is at her residence.  We would be more than happy to complete all agreed work once the remaining balance on the invoice is paid in full.

February 1,2018Contacted and spoke with [redacted].  Ms. [redacted] explained she was initially pleased with [redacted]'s work that began in May 2017 prior to her moving into the subject property.  [redacted] stated, in her opinion, they had a good working relationship. [redacted] Munday is a local contractor and did several odd and end jobs, such as, cut trees, install antenna, etc.  She appreciated his acknowledging work that he could not perform. An example was electrical work that [redacted] provided as a referral for service. Prior to July, 2017, the consumer and business discussed additional work that would be done in phases. The consumer and business did not have a written contract and their business interaction continued with a verbal agreement. In May, 2017 plumbing work began on time and was completed on time. The work was good, except for a hole in the wall where a sump pump pipe was removed.  Following the plumbing work, additional work was requested by [redacted] as previously stated (see notes).  It was [redacted]'s understanding based on past history the hourly rate and terms would be the [redacted]e as the plumbing work...hourly rate of $35.00 p/h, balance due when the work was satisfactory completed.  The work Munday completed on July 21-22 included 1) examining the roof and re-shingled.  Customer noted the roof initially leaked, however, no detectable signs of leakage since.  2)  The chimney was removed, plywood and shingle was placed where the chimney once existed. [redacted] left a metal slab in the yard to use as a sofit covering. 3) Business built steps on the deck, however, the quality of work was not as good compared to the plumbing.  4) repaired hole in the wall from previous plumbing work.Ms. [redacted] stated several calls were placed to the business, asking if he quit were to no avail. She did receive a call from [redacted]'s wife, explaining [redacted] was ill with pneumonia and he will complete the work he started. [redacted] stated she has not heard from [redacted] since July 22 until his response from the Revdex.com dated 10/3/2017.  Consumer stated the range hood delivered by Munday was not the correct fit.  The initial hood by Munday was a front hood and was exchanged for an exhaust hood with a rectangular opening. According to Munday, says [redacted], the hood cost around $49.00. The exchanged exhaust hood did not fit because her existing hood required a circular not a rectangular opening.  Consumer donated the range hood to Habitat for Humanity.  Consumer purchased a hood from Loews for approximately $79.00 and paid approximately $165.00 to install.  Additionally, another contractor was contacted and a portion of the unfinished work by Munday was completed. Specifically, repaired the hole in the wall, and removed debris left by Munday from the chimney. Work that remains to be completed is installing the sofit around the chimney.Consumer states she has paid receipts and cancelled checks to prove the balance was to be paid after the work was completed for the plumbing work which applies to the current project. In addition, she has text messages and has logged hours worked by the business.  At this time the consumer stated she does not trust Munday to do any work at her property and she is not willing to give him additional money.  If Munday is willing to show good faith and reimburse her $210.00 that will show he is sincere and she may consider restoring the working relationship.I informed consumer the next step would be to contact the business and I will contact her after we spoke.  I also informed consumer I may request copies of her receipt and provided my extension, and email address.2/15/18: Called and left message with Ms. [redacted], called to update her that I am waiting to hear back from business in response to her complaint.2/22/18: Mediator called consumer and left a VM Message explaining mediator has not received a return call from business and to return call at consumers convenience, should consumer have any questions.Business has not responded to calls from mediator, to date.
