Rivertown Rheumatology

My mother had a new patient appointment on this date with Dr*** of Rivertown Rheumatology for amLet me preface by saying that we did not receive any new patient forms that were supposed to be sent to us and filled out by the patient prior to coming into the officeFail on the office staffLet me also point out that my mother has severe and progressive rheumatoid arthritis that has made it very hard for her to get around and leaving at any time in advance seems to never be enoughIf you treat persons with these types of conditions it seems you would have sympathy, empathy, and understanding of thisSo we finally get into the office and there is a military couple standing in front of us talking to Dr*** (who was a military doctor, understandable)They were not checking in, but were in the way of us checking inNot sure how much time lapsed in this conversation until I waited politely to interject and asked if they were in lineWhen I got to the window to sign in, it was 10:am and was told rudely by the receptionist that the appointment was at am and they have a minute policy and would need to reschedule the appointmentI asked if they considered patient's mobility limitations etc., didn't even bring up the couple in the wayAnd my god, it was a minute lapse over their "policy"! Was told it is our policy plus you don't even have the new patient paperwork (who's fault is that) and here is your next appointment in another month or soSo then my mother gets up slowly from her chair and taps on the window and tells the girls, "I'm in pain, can I just wait to be seen?" The front desk girl coldly told her know, it is there policy you were late and have to be rescheduledAfter leaving the office I decided that I never wanted to go back to this office again and called the girl at the front desk and cancelled the next appointment that was set upI also told her that I would be writing a scathing review of their practice and she replied, "you were the ones that were late"I asked to speak with the office manager and was told she had stepped away and she took my name and number for her to return my callNow hours later, still no call from that office managerFuture patients beware!!!

We have already cleared this up with the patient and resolved the complaint. There is an apt scheduled for the second week in September.
