Review: I hired a taxi to take me to the Newark airport on 12/**/14. The [redacted], broke my suitcase by manhandling it as he loaded it into the car trunk. The suitcase has a retractable handle. He loaded the bag into the trunk without retracting the handle despite my son's admonition to retract the handle properly. He then proceeded to place a large suitcase weighing approximately 40 pounds right on top of the small bag thereby breaking the handle. The bag is completely non-functional and had to be replaced at a cost of $207.16.When I called [redacted], the [redacted] of Rivertowns and told him what happened he told me that he would reimburse me for the cost of the damaged bag if I would send him documentation and a receipt. I emailed him the information including photos of the broken bag.I have called Rivertowns no fewer than 10 times in the past month. I have left a message for [redacted] asking for a return call. I have sent the original email again. I have not had the courtesy of a return phone call much less received reimbursement for the bag destroyed by [redacted], the [redacted]'s, negligent handling of my property.Desired Settlement: I would like the [redacted] to keep the verbal promise he made to me on the telephone when I called on Jan. *, 2015 and reimburse me for the replacement cost of the bag his [redacted] destroyed.The cost of the bag is $207.16.
