This letter is in response to the complaint reported on January,
It is best known that *** *** brought in her Chevrolet Trailblazer to be serviced at RJAutomotive Service on November, An oil change and multipoint visual
inspection was done onthat day as part of a service routineWe than noticed an oil leak from the valve cover gasket and quotedher a price of $plus tax for repairAlso *** asked for a quote to have her transmissionrepaired/rebuilt as to the vehicle could barely be driven since the transmission was in such bad shape,she was also quoted a price of $for a full transmission rebuildShe declined repairs on that daybut assured she would be back for repairsOn December, RJ Automotive receives a check for$from Interim Community as support to the repairs for ***'s vehicleOn Saturday Januarythe vehicle is brought back to RJ Automotive by her dad to proceed with repairs
On her complaint she stated it was Friday but that was New Year's Day therefore the shop was closedThecheck as stated before was for $and the cost for the valve cover gasket was for only $350.00plus taxThe transmission on this vehicle was in very poor driving condition it wouldn't shift gears sologistically it didn't make sense to only repair an oil leak and have a transmission drive in such badcondition where the vehicle couldn't be driven for long and would even be a safety factor as to it wouldbreak down any moment and potentially cause an accidentOn Monday January *** calls inand asks about her vehicle and the status on repairsShe is explained that transmission work can take afew days because it has to be removed from the vehicle and completely torn downOver the phone*** tells us that she didn't authorize such repair and only needed her valve cover and tune-updone at the time, when the tuwas never discussed about, or quoted a price onIt is also in ourbelieve that the check for the amount of $that she was assisted was another fact that sheneeded her transmission repaired as well
Over the phone she than demanded that we perform the transmission work free of cost which was really concerning to usOverall and after days of discussingthis matter we than have an agreement and have even offered a large discount on the original price forthe transmission repair to help out with the situation, instead of the $originally quoted wewould accept payment of $plus tax for the transmission work plus the valve cover gasket job.She agrees to pay $at the time of vehicle being pickand the balance of on a timely manneLWhen *** picks up her vehicle on January she makes a payment for $and onceagain agrees to pay the remaining amount of$in payments, that we have yet to receive
