I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
This offer is unacceptable to meThis balance is higher than the amount they provided me as the total amount due before this process started. They also refuse to recognize that I had attempted to contact them multiple times about the work they were charging me that was not done. In addition, they still have not answered additional questions I have posed to them. All the above plus the refusal to admit they have mismanaged both my account and requests for information make this “settlement” offer laughable. You can let them know I am rejecting this offer, and will not be paying them anything. I am contacting my attorney today to see if I can file some type of action against them for providing misinformation and charging for work not completed. I am also filing a complaint with the attorney general in VA
The unprofessionalism and high school behavior from this company has me absolutely stunned.

When we went to the [redacted] residence on March 31st 2015 we performed the start up, as requested. That service was billed in the amount of $65.00. We performed the service, the system was started up and the [redacted]'s are responsible for payment. They called and during that conversation...

they expressed some concern over the heads of the irrigation system. When we offered to come back out to the property, they expressed that they did not want us to come back to the property to fix or look at anything, as they no longer trusted our company. We tried to resolve this, but due to them not allowing us to come back, we were unable to.

We are not satisified with their response and they are the ones who initially set up a appointment and failed to show. Per my wife and Myself are willing to pay no more than 1/2 of the total charges based on incomplete work on their part. Some of the sprinkler heads we not working properly after their visit therefor we do not feel that we should be liable for a job that was not 100% compleated. If they are willing to accept our offer we will immediatly put a check in the mail upon their response. Regards,[redacted]

Yes, we agree to resolve this by accepting half of the cost of the services provided suggested by Mr. [redacted]. Thank You

Review: R J Davis Lawn Care is treating my lawn last 3 years. They provided 9 Lawn services and areation and seeding in the Fall every year. This year they have done 4 services. My lawn looks pale yellow, thin and not growing. Funny loking grass patches have grown in several places. Despite of several phone calls to them, nothing has been done to alleviate the problem. I finally terminated their service 23 June. My lawn used to look lush green before. I have lawn sprinkler service to irrigate my lawn. It comes at 4 AM in the Morning.Desired Settlement: I am asking to rectify the problem at no cost to me.

Response:

Good Afternoon [redacted],

Please see the attached file for the explanation I spoke with you earlier about. As far as my communication with [redacted]. It was pleasant. He discussed the problem with his lawn. I spoke of several different options of coming out to help improve the lawn. One being the Technician coming out during his normal scheduled time to treat the lawn as instructed and then communicating with [redacted] what he saw was wrong and try to address it. I also spoke to him about his watering schedule and he had adjusted it from 5am to 4 like I recommended. After our phone conversation it was understood that the Tech would come out on schedule and call [redacted] like instructed and to speak about adding the Fungus package that was recommended. [redacted] was fine with this as was I. The next day [redacted] proceeded to email [redacted] and that’s what you will find in the attached file along with the results of the email. If you have any further questions please feel free to email or call the office. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Thank you,

Review: We have been using this company for a few years without any issues until recent. We had RJ.Davis come out to our home 2 weeks ago to open our irrigation system and check all individual heads to make sure everything is in working order. We later noticed that some of the sprinkler heads were not working or spraying properly nor were they able to be easily removed from the ground. This is something we pay for at time of service and any additional repairs we take care of after billing and items are fixed to our satification. The company never came back out to fix even after they indicated they would and also said they would call as well. Today Thursday April 23rd I spoke with one of the receptionist again and they applogized for not showing or calling and that I was told a Manager in the field would be in touch with me today. As it turns out, we once again were not called and the issue is still NOT resolved. We were billed $65 and have every intention of paying for the service but do not feel we should pay until they do the job they were hired to do.Desired Settlement: I would Like to see RJ.Davis take care of this on their dime being as we have had to call 3 times now to resolve and no one has bothered to try and help the situation. We no longer intend to use this company once our complaint has been satisfied and will make sure we notify our neighbors of the poor service we have received. Thank you

Review: Estimated provided by RJ Davis on 7/29/13. Services were contracted on 4/10/14, after two calls to the current office manager to confirm that several of the proposed services would not be performed on the back yard including fertilizer and spreading topsoil/compost. I had clarified with the current [redacted] on 4/8 that I would not be billed for those services. I had explained to RJ Davis that there was no reason to do that work on the backyard due to a drainage issue and the fact that we had two dogs who were in the backyard frequently. I also wanted to clarify if I signed the contract that the drainage work should not be included as we were not prepared to take on the expense of that project at this time. (Thankfully they honored their commitment and did not perform that work, nor was I billed for it)

Shortly after services were contracted my husband and I seperated and I started receiving statements sporadically. There were no contacts from RJ Davis until the month of August/September. During this time I noticed on the statements that I was being charged for weeding of our plant beds. This was confusing to me as I had been having to pull weeds on a consistent basis. In August I finally took a picture and called RJ Davis to issue a complaint and request that the charges for weeding be returned. I was told by the new office manager that the [redacted] would call me back. I did not receive a call back. I called again and spoke with [redacted]. I was told at that time that the charge was not for weeding the plant beds but for spraying.

After receiving another call stating I owed a 1800.00 balance I began to question how the bill was so high. I told [redacted] that topsoil/compost and fertilizer should have only been done on the front yard. We went back and forth a few times and ultimately she told me I would need to pay it as I had no proof otherwise regarding the discussion. On Oct 15, I spoke with [redacted] again and explained the situation and that I was currently going through a divorce and had questions regarding the total balance. At that point she advised I had 562.00 so far delinquent that they were going to issue a warrant in debt. She also said that if I was in the middle of a divorce and was attempting to sell my house the warrant in debt would prevent me from doing so. I got off the phone with her and called back later to discuss my concern, she thanked me for calling back and said that as long as I make monthly payments they would not warrant the issue in debt. I committed to at least 200.00 a month until the balance was paid off.

A few days later I started analyzing the statement and contract and sent an email on 10/17 addressing some additional concerns with the services provided. I received no response from [redacted] or RJ Davis and on 10/23 sent a follow up email. [redacted] response was not thorough and did not address the concerns that I had. I sent another follow up requesting more information and copy of the back of the contract on 10/23. In the email sent on 10/23 I also included pictures taken of my plant beds showing why I was concerned that it wasn't weeded as RJ Davis had said they were doing. Instead of honoring her original agreement with me, [redacted] then responded that I could contact [redacted] with [redacted]. In my email I requested the [redacted] contact me and that my questions be answered.

I am incredibly disappointed in the service provided and the lack of being able to answer my questions when I have a legitimate concern. I have an excellent credit score but will not be threatened with warrants in debt especially while navigating a difficult divorce. I have explained to RJ Davis many times I have no problem paying the balance owed if I can get an understanding of their miscommunications and clarifications for being charged for services not provided. I even asked for them to fix my plant beds as when they "seeded" they had seed go into the plant bed and now grass is growing in them. I was told they would not be doing that until the full balance was owed.

In addition I had requested the services be cancelled and was told "This is your last visit - and your services would stop then". Afterwards in a phone call to [redacted] she told me that no she did not have me down for cancellation but that I would need to email her through the RJ Davis website. This is strange to me as I made two telephone requests to cancel service. It's also interesting to me when I called to cancel the services, and was told "this is your last service", is right before they charged me an additional $975.00 for services that I did not request for the back yard. I see this as very shady business practices and taking advantage of someone already in a vulnerable situation. When you have explained to a company that you travel often for your job and are going through a divorce with two small children, the response should never be a threat with a warrant in debt, and the non responsiveness other than to say you are getting sent to collections. By my calculation I have paid RJ DAvis $1265.00 which was legitimately owed. The $300 they charged me for weeding the plant beds are not included in that nor is the extra $60.00 charge for chemicals that was not authorized in the contract. I would owe for topsoil/fertilizer/and seeding for the front yard only but RJ Davis refuses to provide an accurate figure for that amount.

I would like to provide a copy of the email communications between me and RJ Davis, as well as the photos provided to them this month highlighting my concern with the "plant bed maintenance" charge of 300.00. Please let me know where I can send those to.

I regret going through such an insensitive company, who is seriously lacking in communication, organization, and integrity. This is unfortunate as I had used [redacted] to select this provider and had several quotes done. RJ Davis was definitely not the cheapest but I felt they would do the best job. I was very wrong.Desired Settlement: As well as corrected services on the plant beds and an apology for the additional stress caused-
