The 'estimated' 3-days did not include re-framing the enclosure to correct for mold damage, out-of-square and out-of-plumb conditionsIt also did not include re-pouring of the concrete floor, moving the plumbing or repairing the ceiling
damaged when the homeowner removed the wall material
The tile chosen was from DAHL Tile; the manufacturer of this tile that they have made and stocked for 50+ yearsWhen I picked up the sample, they did not tell me it was on back-order until the end of AugustIf I was buying from a retail outlet; I would have checked for availabilityI had no reason to check stock on something that has historically ALWAYS been available and was not told otherwise by the salesperson who gave me the sample
I told them at the start that I would not be there before 9:30am due to medical conditionsI arrived later on most days due to picking up materials or other reasons
She keeps quoting my 'original estimate' of $and I should be deducting from thatDoes she think I am to do the additional work, not foreseen or included in the estimate, for free?
I told them of my past history of drug use; all of which occurred decades ago or more and I'm sure I made that clearMy stories were anecdotal and just conversationAll the drugs I use now are doctor prescribed
They claim my work and materials used were not up to code; I disagreeI sent them an adjusted bill that included a page copied from the Jeffco Building Dept's code book showing that the board meets code
I DID repair the wall damage and all that remains is a little texture touand paint
I would have finished the job if they had picked abother tileI brought many samples of many styles and they were not happy with any of them
*** called me and said it wasn't my fault that the tile was unavailable but then raised his voice with me, talked over my responses and would not let me say anythingFinally he said "we'll just end it and you can come pick up your tools"
I ate the cost of over $for the floor tile I could not return, also $for the LED light bulb and lens that they gave back to me without the packaging
I sent them two adjusted bills, both were returned because they have no mailbox and I did not know their PO Box number until this last weekendI sent both envelopes, unopened, to the PO Box yesterdayI included several referral letters from past customers as wellI also returned a check she sent for $400; not acceptable
My final bill was for $and I will not accept lessI will attach all letters to them and the referrals here

the walls in the shower are still not plumb or square, I can provide pictures if neededa huge amount of "angle" cuts of the tile have been required by our current contractor, there were no angle cuts needed in the old shower tilethe walls were more square in old shower than when he finished his jobthere were two 2x4's in shower with mold damage, he chose to replace more of them himself, and as I have said the walls are definitely not square after he finished the jobi can provide estimates from other contractors that say work done would have needed to be removed in order to do job properly.I did not say the board he used did not meet building code, I simply said that of the other companies that provided estimates said it was the "lowest quality" that could have been used and their companies would not use such a low quality producthe brought tile over before he began job and we chose the one we wantedhe never went to purchase tile until the friday after he began the jobtold us on saturday it was not available and didn't know when it would be.he also told us that we should go to the tile stores and pick out some tile ourselves after workwhy did he not purchase tile shortly after we chose it? he never showed us any other samples of tile,so therefore it is not possible that we were "not happy with any of them" as he did not show us any other tilei was not told of any "medical condition" that forced him to start the job latewas only told on monday that he "forgot it was his birthday and had to buy groceries." and on thursday when he showed up hours late that he "forgot he had to go to court."i included in my offer the cost of floor tile used which was $with tax at floor decorthe tile, by the way, was a discontinued item and therefore discountedyou purchased the LED light yourself, we did not ask you to buy it, so when you lost the original package, this is not my fault and I should not have to pay for it, as i'm sure you will use it on another job and charge that person, as you are trying to charge us.you told us on all days you were working that you would start between and you were on time on wednesdaymonday you came at 1600, tuesday and thurday at there was no consideration for our time and we had to be excessively flexible with our time in order to accomodate your schedulewhether or not he and my husband had a cordial conversation on saturday or not is irrelevant to the issuereferral letters from past customers is also irrelevant to meat this time as i'am only concerned with the poor workmanship done at our house.his estimate was for 4-working days, but says he ran into "unforeseen" issuesyet in the days he was here, the only work done was lumber and board up, plumbing for shower head raised and pieces of floor tile laid.he talked a great deal about his other "basement job" he was doing at that time,leading me to believe that job was more important to him than oursi'm sure it was as he was making more money on that job, but that is no reason to treat my job as unimportanthe came into our house to do a job and made matters worse for us and our homeas for his conversations with us, a professional person does not share "anecdotal conversation" with his clients about criminal history and drug use
