I spoke with a Professional Collector named [redacted] regarding an account that was not mine. He listened to my complaint and advised that he will be removing the item from my report. I spoke with his supervisor [redacted] as well. I have dealt with collection agency's in the past. These People are professional. Thank you [redacted].

I paid RJM Acquisitions for at least 2 years like $10 a month & now I'm getting a bill from [redacted] LLC telling me I basically owe the same amount that I have already paid & I basically found out that [redacted] bought them out or changed their name b/c the old phone # for RJM Acquisitions will say no longer in service & now have a # for [redacted]... Now I have to dig up payment rcpts from whatever bank card I've used to pay them to prove that I had already paid a majority of my bill.

RJM sold [redacted]'s account to a company called [redacted]. That is why RJM has ceased sending [redacted] payment coupons. She can reach [redacted] at ###-###-####.

Review: I began paying RJM in August of 2014; a $15 monthly fee to settle a debt; I paid them $50 in February after the holiday's; then I received nothing further from them. I then researched their company to find all these negative reports and that they were a scam. I then a month ago get a notification from [redacted] that a debt has hit my credit report; I look to see what and that same debt has been given to another debt collection agency I've never heard of! Them giving my debt to another company caused a ping to my already suffering credit score that I am trying to better. My credit score dropped over 50 points because of this! Now I'm in worse credit position then before!Desired Settlement: I would like my total amount of payments made refunded to my CC account used to make them and I will deal with the creditor directly. I would also like this other company off my credit report so my score can be restored.

Review: This company has filed a judgement under my name, for a product or service of another company that I never received. Therefore this judgement should not be mine.Desired Settlement: Remove the entry off my credit report.

Review: They sent me a letter offering to settle my debt with [redacted]. It said instead of paying what I owed which was almost 300, I could pay $171.15. I paid it. Now 4 years later when I try to get [redacted] they tell me I still have an outstanding balance. Myself and [redacted] have done our research and have found nothing useful. [redacted] claims to never have used this company and I found the company is out of business and was bought by 2 separate companies who only have info. on current files not old ones. BHDesired Settlement: I would like to be refunded so I can give it to the correct owner - [redacted].

Review: On July **,2013 I pulled my credit report. much to my surprise there was a collection account from RJM Acquisition. I have never received anything from this company even mentioning I had a debt with them and in fact had never even seen the name until it reported on my credit report. I am asking this company to validate this debt by providing me THROUGH EMAIL an itemized, detailed bill/ and a contract from whomever the original creditor is. Please validate this debt. It is illegal to report to a credit agency without sending the consumer a dunning letter before hand.Desired Settlement: Please provide me proof/validation that this said debt is in fact mine. If you can not provide me with proof, please remove this trade line from any reporting credit agencies and please do not resell this said debt again.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Review: RJM Aqcuisitions sent an invoice via mail to: [redacted] June **, 2013. The letter stated I owed a debt totaling $230.93 for a Scholastic account for purchasing childrens books back in 2004. The previous address listed on the letter is not mine either, [redacted]. Three options to pay the debt were listed and a response date was August, 2013. My husband and I each called them without success. These purchases accused of making are not valid. Not to mention, the previous address of residency listed and name the notice is addressed to are not mine. It baffles my husband and I how these people even have our address. Basically there is nothing accurate about the letter except our place of current residence. This is a sad, shameful act of fraud. Knowing there are nieve, innocent people who assume the debt is real, paying the cash without question, is disgusting.Desired Settlement: My husband and I want RJM Acquisitions to be held accountable for all fraudulent transactions made. A thorough investigation and hefty fine along with a genuine apology is fair to all victims involved. This will not stop until something is done about it.

Please be advised that RJM Acquisitions LLC makes no phone calls to our customers. We rely exclusively on a series of letters to communicate with our customers and we make every effort to resolve their concerns compassionately and amicably.

When mail for a customer is returned by the post office, RJM Acquisitions LLC makes every effort to locate the right person. However, RJM Acquisitions LLC understands that there may be more than one person with the same name. In order to ensure that the recipient of our letter is the accountholder, RJM Acquisitions LLC's letters include some identifying information.

Please also understand that search engines at times merge addresses of individuals who share the same or similar names and live or have lived in the same locale.

Previously, mail sent to our customer, [redacted], was returned by the post office. Recently, a possible good address was received for our customer and on June [redacted] 2013, RJM Acquisitions LLC sent a letter to [redacted] (our customer) at [redacted]. For identification purposes the letter included the address of record (the previous address) for the account. A postage paid envelope and a toll free phone number were provided in the event any information was not accurate.

However, contrary to [redacted]'s claims, other than the complaint received from your office, RJM Acquisitions LLC was never contacted about this matter.

Regardless, since the individual who received our letter is not the [redacted] for whom the mail was intended, RJM Acquisitions LLC has closed the abovementioned address and will send no more mail concerning this matter to [redacted] at said address.

Review: I've been receivein mail from this Bill collection agency to settle an old account. I setup an arrangement and was told no other charges would be added to my account . I started making payments on my account and receivein paper bills with a receipt of my balance showing whats owned the first few months but stopped receivein them 2 months ago. when I called to check the status of my account the first person had no knowledge of my balance and couldn't provide me with the accurate account information after I had given my account number and name, when I asked for information under my account number they have me listed under ([redacted]). Then my call was transferred over to another person with out my knowledge or being asked to hold to another person with whom had no knowledge of my account balance and also gave me an inaccurate address and couldn't hear me on the phone she wouldn't provide me with a customer service representative name and caused me to repeat my name and account information multiple timesDesired Settlement: To have my money orders returned due to bad business agreement and services I received.

Review: I have identity guard. I was notified of a change in my credit rating. I carry an excellent rating. This collection co filed a collection report against my credit on a supposed purchase I DID NOT MAKE. I called the company a month ago, they told me they would have it removed. I just checked & it is still on 2 out of 3 of the credit bureaus. It has dropped my credit rating 200 points ! This is illegal & is causing a lot of damage to my finances! I want this removed & this company needs to be investigated thoroughly !Desired Settlement: Remove the collection report from all of the credit bureaus! They need to make sure it is removed properly so that my credit is restored to its original standing before they negligently ruined it!!! Thank you.

In response to your e-mail, please be guided by the following: A Scholastic account was opened November **,2006 in the name of [redacted]. The address on the account was/is [redacted]. A total of $250.37 in payments was received by the book club. The last payment was received March *, 2008. Due to delinquency, the account charged off / defaulted May **, 2009 with a balance due of $59.82. A list of the items that total $59.82 is attached.

In January 2013, RJM Acquisitions LLC purchased this account from Scholastic / Sandvik Publishing. Their address is [redacted].

Please be advised that RJM Acquisitions LLC makes no phone calls to our customers. We rely exclusively on a series of letters to communicate directly with our customers and we make every effort to resolve their concerns compassionately and amicably.

On February*, 2013 RJM Acquisitions LLC sent Ms. [redacted] a letter. The letter advised her that RJM Acquisitions LLC had purchased this account and provided the abovementioned account information along with the list of items purchased. (A second letter was sent to Ms. [redacted] on May *, 2013.) Several options were offered to satisfy the account; and a postage paid envelope and a toll free phone number were included in the event any information concerning the account was not accurate.

A review of the account on March **, 2013 revealed no record of a dispute (nor had the mail been returned) and RJM Acquisitions LLC subsequently reported the account to the credit bureaus (Trans Union and Experian).

On May **,2013, RJM Acquisitions LLC received a phone call from Ms. [redacted] who stated that she never had the account. Please understand that this was the first time RJM Acquisitions LLC was contacted about this matter.

Regardless, RJM Acquisitions LLC promptly closed the account (on May **, 2013).

In addition, RJM Acquisitions LLC requested that the credit bureaus (Trans Union and Experian) delete the RJM Acquisitions LLC trade line pertaining to this account. In accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, a credit reporting agency has up to forty-five (45) days to update any changes.

We trust this covers your concerns. Should you have any questions or if I can be of further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me at ###-###-####.

Very truly yours,

Review: I have attempted to VALIDATE this account requesting documentation from this company on what they are charging me for and they have failed to send me any type of documents showing I owe any money to them. My father and I have the same name and we reside in the same address which leads me to believe the account is not my account yet I can not verify this since RJM refuses to send me proper documents proving to me the account they are charging on is my account. I will not nor do I ever pay any money if I am not confident the debt is mine. I have been sending RJM numerous letters and not once have they replied, acknowledge nor have they sent me any information and I am tiered of dealing with a company that will not comply and I know that as a consumer I have legal rights to ask such questions.Desired Settlement: I want proof of this account being my account and if they don't have such paperwork, then I want a letter dismissing the debt amount, and the account deleted from my credit report.

At this time, I have not been contacted by RJM Acquisitions, LLC regarding complaint ID [redacted].Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: I would like to first say thank you for taking out the time to read this complaint. My compliant is against a collection agency with RJM Acquisition located at [redacted]. I have expressed to this company numerous of times that I have no idea what they are to collect for and who they are trying to collect on behalf of. I requested that they validate the alleged debt and I never received a response. In addition to that, when I disputed the account with the credit bureaus, each of credit reporting agencies responded that RJM Acquisitions stated the debt was accurate and that it was mines.

I know my rights and I know by law that a collection agency must validate a debt before trying to collect on it. It is a shame that RJM Acquistions can just defame my character and credit by throwing negative unvalidated debts on my credit report; cause me to be embarrassed by being denied credit and a job.

I am begging that you please investigate this company. They are known for their unethical and illegal collection practices. So many other consumers have been scammed by them but they have no idea where to file complaints or get help. I am more than willing to help by any means necessary.

I will wait patiently for a response.Desired Settlement: I would like a letter from this company stating that the account will be closed in their office and that they remove this account from my credit report.
