J&L did a beautiful job on my driveway

I am rejecting this response
because:
When the original project was discussed during a phone call and during the
estimate, we had specifically asked that the pitch of the driveway be changed
so that water would run directly to the streetAfter the work was done and it
had rained, the water began to pool
I emailed J&L on 10/14/with
the following:
Hello,
I would like this passed on to JI
am very happy with the driveway except for the pooling of water at the top of
the drivewayThis was something I specifically addressed with both the person
that came out to give me an estimate and JThe kid that gave me the estimate said
they could cut out part of the middle to lower it but you guys never did
I am not sure how this can be
resolved, but I would like some kind of resolution to this
As well, I still have J's sweatshirt
that he left at my house

I never heard from the
companyThe pooling was not the worst problem I could have, so I let it go
until my neighbor complained about her basement flooding within this last
month
The water never pooled on my
neighbor’s side in the years we have lived at the propertyThis only
occurred AFTER J&L paving did the workThe only resolution to this is that
they come back and fix their work so that the water does not get into my
neighbors basement as I was promised this would not happen
I have pictures if necessary
They were sent to J&L PavingI still have not been contacted by Jay
directly since they cashed my check

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the listed complaint.  My company acknowledges receiving phone calls and an email from the customer in question starting on July10th.  We also acknowledge that due to being a small company in the middle of our busiest season we did not respond...

immediately.  We apologize for the delay in communication with the customer.  The scope of work that was discussed, agreed upon and carried out is as follows.  At the time of work the existing driveway was left to be resurfaced and a section of grass area was dug out to be stoned and paved.  We prepped the existing driveway as usual and removed any deteriorated topcoat and installed an extension to match the existing driveway.  This is what the customer wanted and agreed upon.  The pitch of the existing driveway that was to remain was not changed by J&L Paving.  J&L Paving installed in the section that was to be an extension a completely new subbase to match the existing section that the customer wanted to keep.  In this section the subbase remains intact and the surface/work unchanged.  The section in question is the original driveway that was only resurfaced.  While J&L Paving stands by its work we are not responsible if the existing, original subbase, which we did not put in, has failed due to natural and/or outside causes which cannot be controlled by J&L Paving.  We will contact the customer and discuss this matter.
