PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENT FOR ORIGINAL Please accept my sincere apologies for failing to respond to your attempts to reach meThis past Summer has been very hectic for me personally and professionallyThe Weather this past spring put us behind in our commitments for several weeks into Summer, and filling manpower needs each year is extremely challengingIn addition, my mother passed away very unexpectedly, and as her only child, I've had to shoulder everything involved in settling her affairsWhile none of this is intended as acceptable excuses for not responding to your contacts with my office, ask for your patience and your consideration.it is my intention to call you next week by mid-week to arrange a meeting with you to review your needs and get the work scheduled, I hope this meets with your approval and that we can work this out to your satisfactionThank you.Sincerely,RL HARRISON, LLC [redacted] , Owner -

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved

see attachment for response. We are in receipt of the above-referenced complaintAs you know, we take such complaints seriously and make every effort to resolve any issue to our customers' satisfaction. In this case, we contacted Mr*** directly by phone last weekend and have made
arrangements to resolve his issues this week weather permittingOnce that takes place, we will advise you so that you will be comfortable in closing your records on this matter. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me directly at my cell number *** * ***|Owner

I spoke with Mr*** a few days ago to notify him that I had sent him a certified letter which I feel will satisfy both parties in this situation I have uploaded a copy of that letter to the site here In speaking with ***, he told me the letter had been delayed for unknown
reasons pertaining to his mail delivery Once he received the letter and read its content, I feel like he would agree with what we were offering to do to make his driveway right Please let us know if we can do anything further from our end

IN response to your questionI only have the paper he gave me with the price quote

This letter will confirm that I met with you and discussed this matter with you on Tuesday, November 3rd. You have expressed your dissatisfaction with our chip & seal product. To remedy this, I have proposed to install 1” of compacted surface asphalt over the chip & seal product. For this service, I will waive my labor and hauling costs and split the cost of the materials laid. Your share will be approximately $- $3000. This will be accomplished by next spring, weather permitting, no later than May **, 2016. Please let me hear from you soon so that I can reply to the case at the Revdex.com

R L Harrison responded to the complainant via email on March 13, upon receiving notice from the Revdex.com We did not receive a reply so the Supervisor who was on the job went down to see them on March 15, He attempted to contact via telephone and knocking on their door and no one
responded He proceeded to take a series of photos of the driveway and remained onsite for approximately minutesWe have those photos attached to this response It is our position that work done was completed to industry standards We would be happy to talk with the complainant to answer any questions she may have

I have tried reaching Mr*** direct by phone this morning and left a message with my cell phone asking for direct contact. We do not have a form letter and respond directly and individually to each and every complaint and we would certainly not use my mother's death as an excuse were it not a documented fact. The obituary was published in August and a Death Certificate is on file. We would like to see the "form" letter his friend showed him. For him to claim otherwise is in poor taste. We will wait for his phone call.*** * ***

Our field supervisor, *** ***, was dispatched to the home of* *** on 6/2/Mr*** reports he did see some imperfections in the pavement that was caused solely from the customer or someone at the customers home setting an outdoor trash can on top of new asphalt that has not curedThe curing process takes several days and is not fully cured for monthsMr*** moved the trash can on top of the place in question and it was a perfect matchMr*** also noted a spot/divot on the other side of drivewayHe stated it looked like a foot printWe cannot rule out the possibility of it being caused by one of our laborers the date of serviceThat being said, we cannot rule out the possibility that it was created by the customer or visitors, as wellThe customer has complained about an area where "handwork" was doneThe term "handwork" is used to describe work done by hand in areas where machinery cannot be usedThe texture of handwork will always visually appear different VS areas that are paved by machinesIts simply impossible for it to look as smooth as when it is done with machines. *** *** is on our schedule to have the new pavement sealed on July 11,

The driveway in question was in very poor condition with cracking and crumbling asphalt.  We recommended to the homeowner that he do a resurface.  He stated they were trying to sell the house and all they wanted to do was sealcoat it.  We performed the work to his satisfaction at the...

time.   When we started the job, conditions were favorable with the weather.  We have no way nor should we be expected to have any control over the weather.  We quoted the paving of the driveway at $2500.  We will be happy to credit Mr. [redacted] with $450 towards doing that work if he chooses to have that done.  While what happened to Mr [redacted] was unfortunate, we don't fell that we were negligent in any way.

[redacted]Dear Better Business Burea. Mr [redacted] has not yet contacted me. A neighbor also has a complaint issue w/him last year,,, and this is a form letter he sends out... Her letter is the exact same as mine. I guess this guy must had 2 mothers that died? IS there anything else you can do to assist w/this?

I was most concerned to receive your letter dated 05/11/2015 regarding issues with the asphalt work that was completed 03/20/2015. Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention. R.L. [redacted] Paving aims to consistently deliver a professional service to our customers and I would like to state...

that on this occasion the level of service you received was unacceptable. I apologize for the annoyance that this may have caused to you.
R.L. [redacted] is actively working to improve service levels and your feedback has proved to be invaluable. Due to the weather couple with the peak season for paving we have had to rearrange our schedule numerous times. I personally assure you that I will oversee you job completion to your satisfaction as soon as possible. I will add you into our schedule for the  next available date within the next 14 days.
Sincerely,

[ I spoke with R L Harris this morning He said he called the house however we have caller ID & no one called Funny he called this am & he left a message & I did call him back. He indicated that my caller ID did not work I asked him what day he was here he could not tell me I noticed it was on March 15 & I was here.  I work from home if he had called & left a message I would have returned it It is obvious that cars were in the drive. Both front & side doorbells work,&  I have a big dog that goes ballistic when someone is around we would have heard the dog barking if whoever took the pictures had rung the door bell. ** Harris is suppose to meet me this Saturday @ 10 am He was screaming @ me over the phone this am & I told him I was NOT GOING TO TOLERATE HIM TALKING TO ME IN SUCH A WAY said goodbye & hung up.We will see if he shows up Saturday. Regarding the first picture 20170315-104354 this is a picture of the gate that will not fully open. It won't open due to too much asphalt under the gate area I think it is funny they pictured the gate closed not opened into the yard or fully opened onto the driveway. There was not a problem until the drive was resurfaced,  by the way this is an area that was completely removed. He informed me this was fixed when I spoke with him this am.... It has not been fixed. The gate cannot open from the yard to the driveway because the asphalt stops now if I want to scratch the surface or destroy the bottom of the gate it will open but when your arms are full  you cannot open the gate. Other areas of the drive by  the garage door holds water where they did not put enough asphalt  so the water accumulates. The second picture when expanded shows how  the large gravel pieces are. This is all over the driveway where the large gravel was not crushed. It is a stumbling hazard to children & older adults it is not smooth. No pictures of the cracks already in the drive the cracks are not on the area that cars run over. The driveway is not even a yr old & already cracking in several places. He told me this morning  this is just the way it is. That is not a suitable answer, This is a private drive not a road project We paid him a lot of money ($5,900) to deliver a quality drive way.  He was not here the day the driveway was done & the pictures taken do not due justice to this poor asphalt job.I will be in contact after Saturday. RL Harrison completed asphalt paving of our 200 ft driveway on 6/14/2015. for $5000.00 In this price they also inserted a drainage pipe across our drive way.   We paid $625 on 11/3 for pavement sealing.  There is a long crack/opening on top of the drainage pipe where the asphalt is...

separating. In addition there is a 3ft by 3ft area where there is a hole that has appeared in the asphalt drive.  Since July 2016  we have left 10 messages both with the secretary and an answering system.   They are not responding to us even though the secretary states "oh he will call you".  We would like these areas repaired..  We had another company look at it and was told due to poor workmanship, they did not apply enough asphalt to those areas.  Thank you!
