We are in receipt of the written complaint regarding account [redacted] and have carefully reviewed all notations, documentation as well as the contract associated to this SAFE Security account We are following the terms of the existing contract dated January 03, that states the initial terms were for yearsWritten in the agreement is an automatic renewal clause that states – this agreement shall be automatically renewed for periods of one (1) year each unless either party shall notify the other in writing, not less than thirty (30) days prior to the expiration of the original Agreement or the expiration of any renewal periods, of the desire to terminate this Agreement This contract will not expire until January In order to fulfill the terms of the agreement, please submit the final payment of $ A copy of the agreement has been sent to the customer

On October 14, 2010, *** *** signed a year contract with an initial year term and an automatic annual renewal clause. This agreement will not expire until October
We spoke with Mr*** on April 22, when he called and stated he removed his home phone and he needed to
upgrade his equipment. We quoted the cost for the upgrade and the customer stated he would just go with another company. We advised Mr*** we would be willing to work with him and he stated he did not want to pay for the upgrade nor did he want his bill to increase. We advised the salesperson in Mr***’s area of what the customer was requesting and the salesperson reached out to him as well as sent him a copy of the contract that stated the agreement terms
In order to fulfill the terms of the agreement, we informed the customer when he called SAFE Security to request to cancel on 06/16/17, the amount of $would need to be paid. The customer declined to pay this amount and we then offered a 40% discount off the final balance and this amount was also refused. We stand by our decision and in order to cancel this account, we will need to receive the final payment of $

Most of their response is not true. I did sign a 3 year contract (in October of 10/2010) where the auto renewal terms were hidden (see attachment) and did NOT require me to initial near them. The sales person LIED and said it was a month to month after the initial 3 year period. I would not have signed the contract with these auto renewal terms, however I did not pay close attention to the fine print because the sales person stated otherwise and this is the first contract that I’ve seen with these terms. 
Last summer, I agreed to a new contract with a higher monthly fee to upgrade my equipment to an internet based monitoring solution. However they never performed the upgrade and were impossible to get a hold off. I sent emails that were never replied too (see attachment) and only got a hold of [redacted] (sales person) after calling many times (can also provide phone records if AT&T/Comcast go back that far). 
I already paid the $38.50 so they don’t send my account to collections, however I want the money back, including the $360 I paid last year for service that was not provided.

SAFE Security stands by our decision to hold the customer to the terms of the agreement.  The customer has received a copy of the agreement as requested and in order to fulfill the terms of the contract, a final payment of $384.54 needs to be submitted to SAFE Security - [redacted].
