On October 31,2012 I purchased an *** 5yr / 100,000km extended warranty on my 2012 Dodge Ram truck. This program offered a full warranty price refund, including taxes if the extended warranty was never used. The warranty stated that the request for warranty refund must be submitted within 60 days after the plans expiry date.
In late November 2017, I submitted documents which were required on my signed contract which are as follows;
a - copy of this application
b- copy of the underlying Warranty contract
C- copy of current vehicle registration
d- copy of proof of insurance card
e- letter from underlying warranty company or Dealership stating that the warranty contract has run full term and no claims for coverage have been paid during the full term of the warranty contract.
On Dec.4,2017 I received a letter from the current *** underwritters indicating that they require a copy of all maintenance records. This information was not required on my original request for info contract and just the beginning of my irritation from this company. Due to severe flooding in our area on August 29, 2017, all paperwork in our downstairs filing cabinet was destroyed in the flooding and anything that wasn't distroyed was placed in storage in unmarked boxes. Their unnecessary request required me going to all the oil change places that I could remember attending and asking for copies of service.
Shortly after sending them copies of maintenance that I had obtained, they sent me a denial notice dated Dec.13, 2017 stating Denied Expired by Mileage. This company is so crooked it's not even funny. A prime example of why people don't trust insurance companies!!
The letter states my refund was denied by mileage. My contract clearly states that the warranty expires by time only.
After much research, I discovered that RMA was not the original underwriters of my contract and a new policy was developed. I was never given notice regarding a new policy, and the contract that I signed in 2012 is valid .
The following is a Q&A from the *** Website
Q - What if a customers warranty is 60 months /100,000km and the customer purchases the ***, but exceeds their 100,000Km in the 4th year. When is the customer eligible to request a warranty refund ?
A - After the 60 months has expired. The refund request must be submitted to and received by the administrator within sixty (60) days subsequent to the warranty contract expiration by time (full term). "Full Term" means the effective date and concluding no earlier than 60 months from the effective date.

This clearly states that Full Term means expiration by time,,not mileage. This company is ripping customers off and it's been made clear to me that more people need to be aware of their right to full refund.
On Dec. 19th, 2017 I did receive an insulting settlement letter from this company for less than 50% of what I am owed. I guess they figure I'd be happy to get some sort of offer. Their *** has only driven me more to go public so other customers don't get ***.

Desired Outcome

What full refund of my warranty plus taxes as I titled to in my original signed contract. Total being $2,936.87.

To correct Mr. statement a new policy was not developed. The *** program has terminated and as a result *** has appointed another administrator to adjudicate claims. All inquiries and material should be directed to:

*** Claims Administration
***
London, Ontario, N5X 3H9
Phone: *** Fax: ***

Mr. has directed his complaint to the wrong business (RMA) as we no longer handle any administration and/or claims for this. Mr. is encouraged to follow up with *** and/or the new administrator regarding his file.

Thank-you.
