Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I missed the day respond time due to the fact that my husband was under doctors care for a heart condition and I didn't want to upset him with this problemI have tried to contact Roadrunner Landscaping and Mr Santiago will not respond to my query as to how he wants to pay for the work required.Do I now have the work done then hire a lawyer and take him to claim court? If so then I may as well have him pay for the whole job since I have paid him once for a yard full of weeds and dead grass. Please advise as to what my next action should be Regards, [redacted] [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, the consumer must give a reason why they are rejecting the responseIf the consumer does not provide a reason the complaint will be closed Answered]

MrSantiago’s response is partially correct We did have work done other than sod, though this complaint is specific to the sod In an effort to determine what the problem was, we had an agronomist from NMSU look at the lawn He is certain that the grass is infested with annual bluegrass, which is a weed MrSantiago states that he is not responsible due to lack of care or water I have pictures that show my 18-year-old lawn that was taken out and replaced with this sod These photos indicate that I do in fact care for my lawn I have also attached copies of my water bill which show the usage rates of water from April through April The graph of water usage indicates that the watering season began in April 2015, with the new sod and did not end until December The Cycle peaked again in April, indicating March usage to begin the new season. My request is that one of things will happen First option is that MrSantiago replace the sod Second option is that he repairs the sod, if he is, in fact, licensed to use the required chemicals to get rid of the annual bluegrass The third option would be that he reimburses me the cost of the sod so I can hire someone else to replace the sod, or do the chemical treatment In essence I just do not want to pay twice, for a job that should have been completed a year ago In terms of the 3-month warranty, this issue did appear and was chemically treated by MrSantiago prior to August 2015, however, the issue was not resolved, and when the grass became dormant for the winter there was no way to know that the problem would continue in the spring Clearly this has been an on-going issue during and after the warranty period and MrSantiago’s efforts to resolve it before August were not successfulSincerely, [redacted] T [redacted]

Liked I said he is the first customer to complaint about the Sod we install. We have install sod thru out Las Cruces and haven't had any complaints. I can't be held responsible for the grass dying due to the lack of attention. I know we did everything correct and even after the 3 months the grass was already rooted in and it was nice and green. I know that the grass had a few weeds here and there but to be normal but we treated it accordingly.  I know we are a Business and willing to offer to pay Half of the cost either to replace it and or treat it. Other than that that's I can do knowing that we did everything right when we installed the sod. Thank you Santiago with Roadrunner

Mr. Santiago’s response is partially correct.  We did have work done other than sod, though this complaint is specific to the sod.  In an effort to determine what the problem was, we had an agronomist from NMSU look at the lawn.  He is certain that the grass is infested with annual bluegrass, which is a weed.  Mr. Santiago states that he is not responsible due to lack of care or water.  I have pictures that show my 18-year-old lawn that was taken out and replaced with this sod.  These photos indicate that I do in fact care for my lawn.  I have also attached copies of my water bill which show the usage rates of water from April 2015 through April 2016.  The graph of water usage indicates that the watering season began in April 2015, with the new sod and did not end until December.  The Cycle peaked again in April, 2016 indicating March usage to begin the new season. My request is that one of 3 things will happen.  First option is that Mr. Santiago replace the sod.  Second option is that he repairs the sod, if he is, in fact, licensed to use the required chemicals to get rid of the annual bluegrass.  The third option would be that he reimburses me the cost of the sod so I can hire someone else to replace the sod, or do the chemical treatment.  In essence I just do not want to pay twice, for a job that should have been completed a year ago.  In terms of the 3-month warranty, this issue did appear and was chemically treated by Mr. Santiago prior to August 2015, however, the issue was not resolved, and when the grass became dormant for the winter there was no way to know that the problem would continue in the spring.  Clearly this has been an on-going issue during and after the warranty period and Mr. Santiago’s efforts to resolve it before August were not successful. Sincerely, [redacted] T [redacted]
