Review: I have been having a issue with this company every since I brought this car. [redacted] has tried to work with me on some issues but I still have a issue with this vehicle not working correctly. I wanted to trade it in for a another car but they wanted me to pay more and I felt like I should not. But my real complaint is with the way I get treated by his salesperson [redacted]. He has hung up on me told me does not have time to go over my account with me. The total that I have and he is always different and he is a very rude person to me. I do not like the way I am treated by [redacted].Desired Settlement: I want a another jeep without having to put 2000 down on the car and a written apology from [redacted]

Ms. [redacted] stating she has a problem with roanokes car shop is due to her vehicle had a problem with her vehicle after the warranty expired, we still paid a Trans shop to diagnose and the Trans has a solenoid going bad. Total cost is around $300, she stated she didn't have the money to do repair at that time. She drove vehicle for several more months and made same complaint, we again diagnosed to still have bad solenoid, she again stated she didn't have money to fix. And has drove the vehicle several more months and made complaint again at which time we told her she needs to fix solenoid but our concern is how long she's drove vehicle with this bad part and if further damage has been caused. She and [redacted] have had problems in past so her account has been moved to our home location to resolve the issue and she will not have to deal with [redacted]. I am sorry for [redacted] getting frustrated in this matter. As far as swapping her out of her station wagon and putting her in a jeep for free, my answer is no. This makes no sense to request this. We are a easy company to work with but our concerns are justified in nature. A basic maintenance item went bad at relatively low cost and her approach has been to continue to drive on it for many months. We'd like to see her perform the repair and then we will give her what the used vehicle guide states her trade in value is and apply it towards her account and the left over can be utilized as a down payment on another vehicle. Thank you for your time in resolving this matter

THIS IS NOT A TRUE STATEMENT. WHEN I GOT THE VEHICLE IT WAS A WEEK LATER THAT I CALLED BACK AND SAID I HAD TROUBLE THINKING IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION I HAD A WARRANTY IT WENT TO THE SHOP AND THEY KEPT SAYING IT WAS NOT THAT IT WENT ON LIKE THIS UNTIL MY WARRANTY RAN OUT AND WHEN I FOUND OUT IT WAS THAT AND CALLED IT WAS TOO LATE. I THEN ASKED IF I COULD TRADE IT IN FOR JEEP AND TOM TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO TURN IN MY CAR AND PUT DOWN 1,500 TOWARDS NEW CAR AND TO ME THAT IS CRAZY THAT IS LIKE GIVING MY CAR AWAY FOR FREE. IF HE IS WILLING TO TAKE THE CAR LIKE IT IS AND USE THAT AS MY DOWN PAYMENT FOR A NEW CAR SURE I AM THE ONE LOSING OUT BEING THAT I STARTED OFF OWING 11,000 AND I PUT DOWN 2,000 AND NOW OVER UNDER 5,000.

We started at the north end of Roanoke and I was determined to find a car that day in April 2014. I arrived at Roanoke Car Shop after several hours of disappointment at other dealers. I saw my little Jeep on the front line and instantly fell in love. I am disabled and this Jeep is wonderful for me to get in and out of and mechanically sound. I am a mechanics daughter so I was climbing all over checking it out. Tom is great to work with. I told him what my budget was with the payment and the full coverage insurance and he couldn't have been better matching that with my payment. I have had to replace a few minor things but overall, it is a used vehicle and things break even on a new car. Only difference there is a new car is covered under the manufacturer warranty. Any and all policy is given to you at purchase and it only takes some reading to see what they will do for you and what they wont. I noticed the valve cover leaked and Tom set up for me to bring it back on the following Monday and had it fixed at their shop at no charge to me. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I am now helping a friend find a newer vehicle and have referred her to Tom. Roanoke car shop is the one I would go to for another vehicle in the future. Just remember, in this day and age people are not trading their vehicles as soon and will have higher mileage then what used to be.

[redacted] is a great guy to deal with, my wife and I bought a Pathfinder from him several years ago, it was in the condition that he stated, he was upfront with the few minor issues it had, easy to deal with on down payment/ payment arrangements. Easy to deal with if you need a few extra days even a week or two if you stay in touch.....to the guy who left the Negative review, we all know cars don't get repossessed after only a week, your statements are inaccurate. They don't use pushy sales tactics and have a car for every budget. Im a mechanic by trade, and Ive recently looked at getting myself another vehicle and looked at his recent inventory, everything he has is mechanically sound, maybe minor issues, a small dent ding or scratch but its a USED car lot and BUY here PAY here lot with reasonable prices and fees, you cant expect a showroom fresh Cadillac. We rate tom an 8 out of 10, only because his selection is somewhat small. Hes much MUCH better than [redacted], and Especially [redacted]. Go with the small guys, you'll make out better in the end. Thanks [redacted] and others with Roanokes Car Shop + the other lots for a good experience, reliable, good condition vehicle. [redacted]

Review: Roanoke Car Shop sold me a 2005 Toyota solora. what drew my attention to this vehicle was that it had very nice tinted windows. I purchased the vehicle and was not informed by the dealer that the window tint was illegal. I was also not aware that the tint was illegal either. on 27 NOVEMBER 2013 I was pulled over in the Bedford County General District area in Virginia for ILLEGAL TINTS. I was summoned $94.64 for this infraction. I contacted the dealership and spoke to a MR. [redacted] and told him of the issue he keeps giving me the run around that he will remove the tints but does not give me a date nor calls me with a date that he can do that. on 16Dec2013 I called to inquire about this resolution and still have not received a call back. this is unacceptable way to run a business.Desired Settlement: I believe if I bought a vehicle for a specific reason and it turns out that the reason is illegal it should be fixed. I would like the tim=nts replaced with legal ones. I would also like for Roanoke Car Shop to cover the cost of my fine since it was their fault I was pulled over with illegal tints.

Response:

This is in reply to your letter concerning I.D. # [redacted], dated 12/20/13. Roanoke's Car Shop has always operated and will continue to operate a reputable business and adheres strictly to all laws, both State and Local.

With that being said, I feel like there is nothing that needs to be resolved in this matter and we will not cover any expenses incurred by this customer concerning the window tint, give the fact that we did try and apease her by removing the tint, strictly by an act of Goodwill and not responsibility on our behalf.

Unfortunately, we cannot operate our business on her or anyone else's schedule and cannot be responsible for her or anyone else's inability to set an appointment within our hours of operation.

I do appreciate your concern in this matter and in the future, if you have a serious matter that needs attention, or if you need help understanding the guidelines of the Automobile Business, please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help.

Sincerely,

Manager

Review: well for starters I have been sold a bad car, and failed to honor my repairs and warranty. the car has been sold to me with four bad tires, one of the hoses in the engine is missing, there's a noise/dragging sound underneath my car. the engine light keeps coming on, the steering wheel is out of alignment. and the I just found out the other day that my timing belt is cracked. when I asked the person that sold me the car that if he or anybody else has checked the car over hes reply to me was I don't know. also when I requested for these problems be fixed he sent me to this mechanic whom which tired to charge me just to take a look at the problems I was having with my car and I really didnt appreiate that at all. I remember him saying before I purchased the car that if there was anything wrong with the car that he would have no problem fixing it for me, I fell that I shouldn't be charged to get my car fixed when this guy sold it to me with all of these problems. also my grandmother and aunt had asked him a few questions about the car as well like if he knew the tires where bad and if I could get a refund and if I could exchange the vehicle and he did not give them a straight answer he just kept saying I don't know or he didn't saying anything at allDesired Settlement: my down payment on the car which was 1,250.00 plus the $323 dollors I paid him for my title and my license plates which he failed to called me to tell me that he had them

Response:

See buyers guide. Told him no exchange or refund. Did not say that if anything was wrong with the car that would fix it.

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

everything he said is a lie for one he never told me that he would not give me a refund or exchange for another car he just never answered me when I asked him and two yes he did tell me that if anything was wrong with the car that he would be happy to fix it I had someone there with me when he said it. but I dont have time to argue with this dude or anyone else for that matter so it is what is it

Regards,

Review: this dealership is not good dealership to purchase a car from they do not keep promises made by company employees to customers or stand by their cars should something happen to your vehicle during the first 90 days of purchase. I purchased a 2005 kia sedonna van from this company. I was half way paying for my vehicle and had never been late on my vehicle no more than week ,in November 2013 I gave the owner 200 dollars of a249 dollar payment on time he promised to wait the following Thursday for the remaining 49 dollars that did not happen on Wednesday he repoed my car before the Thursday in which he promised towait for my money he then made it hard forme to obtain my vehicleback by adding extra fees besides the repo fees onto my account.my sister agreed to pay his fees but he told her he did not want to deal with me any more. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I had aproblem with my drivers door on this vehicle it was never fixed because the owner said he could not fix it even though he tricked me into buying a extended warrenty plan that I paid extra for this company is a crock I would never purchase a vehicle nor recommend this company to anyone. the car was half paid for but he put on my credit report that I owed him the full purchase priceDesired Settlement: take off the fact that I owe you full purchase price on my credit report when he has repoed my car and resold it it should only be a defiency aMOUNT for the amount owed versus what he sold itfor

Business

Response:

Warranty was available to customer. Untrue comment about never being late more than a week on vehicle payment. Problem with driver's door is not covered under the extended warranty plan. We do not report to credit Bureau Beginning balance $5983.20 We asked for $3386.72. This was balance inc. repo fee.
