improperly preparing tax return and not correcting it.NO RESPONSE from ROB-AIRE to the following letter sent in certified mail:Mr. [redacted], CPARob-Aire199 Summitt St.Memphis, TN XXXXXFebruary 28, 2014Mr. [redacted]: Your firm-specifically your daughter, [redacted]-Cate-has been preparing my annual tax return since 2011. Over the past year, a serious issue has come to light that has me quite concerned about how my tax account has been handled. This issue has cost me money, not to mention considerable stress, and I am asking you for remuneration.  To recap what has taken place: - In March of 2013, I received a notice from the IRS stating that I had unpaid taxes for the year 2011. I immediately took the letter to [redacted]. She said not to worry, she would fix it, and let me know the response.- I received three subsequent letters from the IRS during 2013 about this, stating that I owed almost $10,000 in unpaid taxes. Nothing like this had ever happened to me. I was frightened and upset that [redacted] had NOT corrected this issue with the IRS. Each time I took a new letter to [redacted], she said she would take care of it and send me the documentation. In fact, she said the IRS would owe me money when she finished with it.- Finally, on February 10, 2014, I received a certified letter from the IRS, a CP504, stating "intent to levy/seize my property." I was in shock. So instead of first talking to [redacted], I called the IRS myself and was able to talk to a live person within five minutes. ([redacted] had told me I would only get an automated responder if I called the IRS.)- When I asked the IRS agent if he had received any amended forms or correspondence from [redacted], he said no-no activity on the account.- I took the IRS CP504 letter to [redacted] and told her about my call with the IRS. She said the IRS was lying, and that she would fix the problem right away and provide me the documentation to show that that had been done. - I received nothing from [redacted], so I decided I would seek the services of a tax attorney to work with the IRS to resolve this problem. I told [redacted] this and requested to receive all her paperwork on the issue. I picked up the paperwork and when I reviewed it, realized that there was no documentation showing she had ever tried to communicate with the IRS to correct this issue on my behalf. This is where the matter stands now: My expenses with the tax attorney to correct the problem that [redacted] and Rob-Aire caused total $600, for the steps needed to complete the paperwork to attempt to get the levy on my property removed. The attorney tells me this could take another four months and possibly cost me even more, if additional information is required by the IRS. I am requesting that you, as the principal of Rob-Aire, reimburse me for my attorney's fees of $600. I believe this is the least you can do for me as your client, since negligence on the part of your employee, [redacted], created the issue in the first place and has not only cost me money, but caused me considerable distress. I would like to hear from you by phone or in writing as soon as possible, but certainly no later than Friday, March 7. If I do not receive a response by that date, I will be forced to take further action. Aside from the business implications of this matter, the entire turn of events has been a tremendous personal disappointment to me, as you and your firm were recommended to me by friends who trust you and encouraged me to put my trust in you. You have betrayed that trust. Sincerely,[redacted] Ave.Memphis, TN XXXXXXXX-XXX-XXXX[redacted]@gmail.comDesired Settlement$600 to cover tax lawyer I had to hire.

Refusal to return phone calls after telling my wife and I that she would ammend a return from the previous year. We paid for the service, left papers. On 2/19/2014 my wife and I went into the tax office of [redacted] She completed our return and said that she would send it to the I.R.S. for us. We asked [redacted] to ammend my wife's previous return and she said she would. She explained that she was running late for her next appointment and asked if it was alright for her to complete it that weekend. My wife and I agreed. I paid $100, by check, that day which is all that was asked and charged. The next week rolled around and we did not hear from her office. I called the office and was told she was not feeling well and needed a bit longer to work on it. A few days later, my wife got ahold of the secretary and was told she was with her sister and would have to call her back. Ever since that phone call, we have not been able to reach anyone at her office. My wife and I have left more messages than I can count with no response. I would guess that we have called her office about 100 times. Naturally, we became very frustrated. On May 23rd, I pulled into the parking lot and called the office again. The storm door was closed but inside door was opened. There was no answer but there were clearly people inside. I knocked on the door and a gentleman that identifed himself as the owner, [redacted], greeted me and asked if I could be helped. Calmly I explained the situation to him and he seemed sympathetic. I left my name and number with him saying that we either wanted the service promised OR our paperwork back. We never received a response. Today, 6/10/2014, the day filing this complaint, at 1129 we called yet again and an older lady answered the phone. She said [redacted] was on the other line and wanted to know if we needed help. I explained the situation yet again and reinforcing we either wanted the service or our paperwork back, she said [redacted] would call us back. At 1536, we still have not heard anything from the office. We hate to go this route, however, [redacted] has my wife's W2's and bank account information which I think we can all agree is information we all find sensitive and do not want floating everywhere.Desired SettlementWe would rather have the addendment completed as promised by [redacted] as we will be delivering our child in the next 13 days. If this cannot be done, we simplely would like our paperwork returned to us.

Tax Return PreparationThis individual has prepared my taxes for the past 4 years. I have been unable to reach him and his phone has been disconnected. I have not received a copy of my 2014 tax returns and do not know if he even filed them. I have noticed several complaints on his websiteDesired SettlementI need to know if he filed and I need a copy of my return.Business Response Ms [redacted], I have attempted to respond to this complaint on line. Each time I was told that my inquiry "no return result". Due to personal health issues and Mr. [redacted] being out of town our office was Closed from June 16, 2015 to July 20, 2015. Mr. [redacted] decided on April 16, 2015 that Tax Season 2015 (tax year 2014) was his last year to prepare tax returns and all paperwork dealing with the Accounting portion of the business. On July 20, 2015 I spoke with Mr. [redacted] and made an appointment for him to come into our office to have his 2014 tax return prepared. An Extension was filed on April 15, 2015 that extended the filing of Mr. [redacted] tax return till October 15, 2015. Mr. [redacted] appointment was scheduled for Thursday July 23, 2015. Mr. [redacted] came into the office and we prepared his tax return. I asked for Mr. [redacted] to get other figures together for his Schedule A and to call our office back with this figures. Mr. [redacted] called me back that afternoon and I completed his return and E-Filed his Federal and Mississippi State Returns at that time. Mr. [redacted] Federal and State returns were Accepted. Mr. [redacted] scheduled an other appointment for Tuesday July 28, 2015 to pick up his copies of his 2015 Federal and State Returns. Mr. [redacted] paid for the Services provided to him. I did not received the first letter from the Revdex.com till the afternoon of Friday July 23, 2015. I did ask Mr. [redacted] about the letter during the appointment of Tuesday July 28, 2015. Mr. [redacted] assured me that he would call the Revdex.com in reference to the letter. We received the second letter on Saturday August 8, 2015. We felt it was in our best interest to address the letters and let the Revdex.com know that this issue was already in the process of being resolved before we even knew that a Complaint had been filed. If we can be of further assistance please call our office at XXX-XXX-XXXX or you may email our office at [redacted] . Thank you for your time and help in this matter.
