I have requested that Lending Club remove me from their mailing list. The phone tree requires a ssn which I am uncomfortable giving.I have attempted to be removed from the mailing list due to continuous mailings. When calling the customer service line you are required to give your social security number by punching it in. I am uncomfortable giving this information to a company I never requested anything from and you are unable to speak to anyone unless you do so. I have mailed them their information back requesting that I am removed from the list and they continue to send the statements and preapproval forms to my home. I would like to be removed from the list.Desired SettlementI just want them to stop sending me preapproval and be removed from their mailing list.Business Response Thank you for giving Lending Club the opportunity to respond to [redacted] 's Revdex.com (Revdex.com) complaint. The toll-free number included in the Lending Club solicitation that Ms. [redacted] received is the Consumer Credit Reporting Industry Opt-In and Opt-Out toll-free telephone number. This number is provided for consumers who receive Lending Club solicitations and would like to be removed from receiving "pre-screened" offers from Lending Club and other companies. These credit offers originate from the Consumer Credit Reporting Industry, not Lending Club. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), consumer credit reporting companies such as Transunion and Experian are permitted to include your name on lists used by creditors or insurers to make firm offers of credit or insurance not initiated by you ("Firm Offers"). The FCRA also provides you the right to "Opt-Out", which prevents consumer credit reporting companies from providing your credit file information for Firm Offers. To comply with Ms. [redacted]'s request, we have removed her name and mailing address from our marketing database to ensure that she will no longer receive mail solicitations from Lending Club.We thank you again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint brought to our attention by Ms. [redacted]. If Ms. [redacted] as any further questions or concerns, please have her contact Lending Club directly by email at [redacted]@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat. 6am-5pm PST.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)I am satisfied with the result of being removed from the listing. Thank you very much for your help.

We constantly receive advertisements in the mail from this company saying we have been pre-approved. I have tried multiple times to get approved and we have average credit and constantly DENIED CREDIT. I wish they would stop the advertisements if they will not honor the pre-approvals. Impossible to get approved!

In filing for a loan with LendingClub they do not disclose full requirements, nor did they provide feedback as required with a credit check.I filled for a loan with LendingClub for debt consolidation. They approved my loan and said further documentation was required. I submitted this documentation, however when they returned they stated that I was not eligible for a loan, and did not disclose why. When I called they gave me several different answers with each person I talked to, and one did not match the other. Ultimately they stated that income verified did not match stated income. The income verification process requested W2 statements, and other tax statements. I stated that I had been with my current employer less than one year, and that this income would not be verifiable via W2 statements. They said that they would consider current income, however denied the loan stating that they verified previous income, not current. When further review was requested, they denied and refused to take further action. Desired SettlementI would like further review of my loan via my current income statements. Business Response Thank you for giving Lending Club the opportunity to respond to Mr. [redacted]'s Revdex.com (Revdex.com) complaint. We understand that Mr. [redacted] is disappointed, and we would like to clarify the application process. As part of the application process, Lending Club may perform income verification to validate the personal annual income stated on the loan application. Lending Club requested documents from Mr. [redacted] to verify his stated personal annual income. After reviewing the documents he provided, Lending Club determined that the documents did not support and verify the personal annual income Mr. [redacted] stated on his application. Loans originated through the Lending Club platform are underwritten and made by WebBank, Salt Lake City, UT, member FDIC. Lending Club provided an adverse action notification to Mr. [redacted] describing the credit decision on behalf of WebBank. Mr. [redacted] can view the adverse action letter by logging into his Lending Club account.Unfortunately, we are unable to reconsider an application once it has been declined; however, Mr. [redacted] is eligible to apply again for a loan through Lending Club in the future. Please note that the loan application process does not affect an applicant's credit score, because it is not reported to credit bureaus as a hard credit inquiry. If there are further questions regarding this matter, please have Mr. [redacted] contact Lending Club directly by email at [redacted]@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat 6am-5pm PST.

beware. they always charge 5% up front for your loan. So if you borrow $20k
you actually get 19K. they do not disclose this in an obvious way.
I would not borrow from them unless you really are desperate.

Don't tell me preapproved then deny. It puts my credit rating down another notch. Don't send me any further mail. I will sue you.On X-XX-XX I received a special mailing informing me I was pre approved for 35,000.00 at 6.68. That was the 2nd mailing. So I figured it was a decent offer so I responded, then informed denied. Now they 1. Lied. 2. Put a credit request on my credit report.. 3. Got personal info from me.Desired SettlementStop sending fraudulent mailBusiness Response Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to [redacted]'s Revdex.com complaint. We understand Ms. [redacted] is disappointed, and we would like to clarify the pre-approval process. Lending Club uses information provided by credit bureaus, including credit score, outstanding debt, payment history, and recent credit activity, to identify potential borrowers and send pre-approved loan offers. At the time of loan application, Lending Club asks the applicant for other important information, such as the applicant's personal annual income and employment status. Because several weeks can pass [redacted] the pre-screening process and the actual application, we also request updated information from the credit bureaus. Both sets of information are used to determine if an applicant qualifies for a loan offer at that time. Common reasons for being declined for a loan after receiving a pre-approved offer are that an applicant's current outstanding debt is too high relative to the applicant's personal annual income or that changes have occurred in the applicant's credit report since pre-screening. The specific reasons why Ms. [redacted]'s loan application was declined are provided in an adverse action notice, which can be viewed by logging into her Lending Club account summary.Loans originated through the Lending Club platform are underwritten and made by WebBank, Salt Lake City, UT, member FDIC. Lending Club delivered the adverse action letter to Ms. [redacted] on behalf of WebBank. Please note that the pre-screening process and loan application do not affect an applicant's credit score, because neither action is reported to credit bureaus as a hard credit inquiry. Ms. [redacted] is eligible to apply again for a loan via Lending Club in the future. To ensure Ms. [redacted] does not receive any future unwanted contact from Lending Club, we removed her contact information from our email and direct mail marketing lists. If there are further questions regarding this matter, please have Ms. [redacted] contact Lending Club directly by email at [redacted]@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat 6am-5pm PST.

I applied for a loan from the comfort of my home, submitted the required docs and had funding within days. I was able to repay early and the reps made the whole process so easy. Would def do business with this company again.

I received an email stating that they could not grant me a loan! I never applied for a loan with the lending club.I did not apply period! Don't know if I was hacked or not but I did not apply for this loan I can assure you!I do not want this on my credit report as I did not apply for it! I have been trying to rebuild my credit so I know I would not be approved for a loan at this time! As long as this does not show up as an inquiry on any of my reports were good!Desired SettlementJust do not hit me with inquiries on any of my reports and we'll be fine and put a big red flag by my name as I don't want your services period! Business Response Thank you for giving Lending Club the opportunity to respond to [redacted]'s Revdex.com (Revdex.com) complaint.Lending Club records reflect that an application was received from Mr. [redacted] through one of our affiliated partner websites. Our partner websites include, but are not limited to, Credit Karma, Mint and Lending Tree. The email Mr. [redacted] received was in reference to an Adverse Action notice stating the specific reasons why a loan application was declined on 12/24/2014 and on 2/2/2015. It is Lending Club policy to email the Adverse Action notice 15 days after an application is declined. All applications with Lending Club are considered a "soft" credit inquiry, which does not negatively impact a consumer's credit score. If Mr. [redacted] believes he is a victim of identity theft and someone fraudulently applied for a Lending Club loan in his name, we advise him to contact the three credit bureaus - TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian. Additionally, we have removed Mr. [redacted] from our email marketing system. We thank you again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint brought to your attention byMr. [redacted]. To the extent Mr. [redacted] has any further questions or concerns, please have him contact Lending Club directly by email at [redacted]@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat. 6am-5pm PST.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)I know I didn't apply with Lending club I'm wondering if it's possible to get a copy of the application? So I can see the info given on the app?

I had a Fantastic experience with Lending Club ( as well as my partner ) They did exactly what they said they would do, start to finish was maybe 4 days. No hidden fees, no funny business. Straight forward and EASY! I recommend them 100% I saved a ton of money every month going through Lending Club
Thank you,

lending club said I was approved for a loan. They said they needed a processing fee of 163 dollars so I sent it to them. I never got the money .I called lending club December 2nd 2014. I was suppose to get 10,000 loan. But they said it couldn't be finalized because I had a red flag on something or other. Therefore I asked them to cancel the loan and give my money back. They. Did not do that. And they also didn't give me the loan. The representative called from a [redacted] number but I do not remember his name. His telephone number is XXX-XXX-XXXX.Desired SettlementI just want my 163 dollars back or the loan given to me as promised.Business Response Lending Club is in receipt of Revdex.com (Revdex.com) complaint case number XXXXXXXX. Lending Club is aware of the situation referenced in the complaint to the Revdex.com. The circumstances of the event to which Mr. [redacted] has fallen victim are not the result of any actions by Lending Club or its affiliates. We are sorry to report that Mr. [redacted] was defrauded by an ongoing scheme where the Lending Club name or a variation of Lending Club is used to entice victims to pay up-front fees for non-existent loans. It appears that after a victim has applied for a loan online through an unaffiliated website, the victim's loan request information is somehow obtained by the fraudsters. The fraudster then contacts the victim using the Lending Club name or a variation of Lending Club. They promise the victim that they can obtain a loan through Lending Club by paying an application fee. In some instances, the fraudsters return to the same victim multiple times requesting additional funds in exchange for securing a loan. Funds are usually transferred to the fraudsters through the use of a Green Dot or Vanilla Visa card (or similar device), companies with whom Lending Club has no relationship. All loans obtained through the Lending Club platform are made without any application fee and are funded by WebBank, a Utah Industrial Bank. Information regarding the relationship between Lending Club and WebBank may be found on our website at lendingclub.com.Regrettably, Mr. [redacted] is another victim of this fraud scheme. He is not a consumer who has engaged in any financial transactions with Lending Club. The people he spoke with were part of the fraud scheme. The application fees delivered by Mr. [redacted] were not sent to Lending Club; they were likely sent directly to the fraudsters. The Lending Club Fraud Department has reached out to Mr. [redacted] to contact us. Upon contacting us, we will advise him that he is a victim of this fraud scheme and will recommend that he add a fraud alert to his Credit bureau report as well as file a complaint with the FTC. To our knowledge, these fraudsters have not been found to date and continue to prey upon their victims. Lending Club continues to work with consumers and any and all appropriate and willing law enforcement agencies to find and prosecute these fraudsters (FBI Complaint Id: IXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, FTC Complaint Id: XXXXXXXX). The United States Secret Service (San Francisco chapter) met with Lending Club on 11/13/13 to discuss this issue and has since launched their investigation.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

poor [redacted] and someone at lending club made a mistake on my loan and jumped to incorrect conculsionsI applied for this loan a month ago and jumped through every hoop they threw at me however when they asked for my 2013 federal tax returns it didn't actually add up with what I am currently making so someone made a mistake on the loan and disqualified it. I spent a month through this process and constantly called to make sure I had given them everything they needed. Process was only supposed to take a month and someone disqualified my loan because they couldn't prove my current income even though they didn't follow the correct steps to do so. On top of this when I called in to address this issue the [redacted] representative [redacted] hung up on me and was very rude. Resolution I was looking for was the chance to reopen the application and send to lending club what they actually needed to process the loan but once a loan is closed there is no way to open it back up even if it was due to a clerical error. I feel based off this experience that this company is actually a scam just trying to mine people for their personal information.Desired SettlementI am seeking to get my loan reopened and give me the opportunity to actually submit the correct paperwork they would need to process the loan correctly. Business Response Thank you for giving Lending Club the opportunity to respond to [redacted]'s Revdex.com (Revdex.com) complaint. We understand that Mr. [redacted] is disappointed, and we would like to clarify our application process. We consider a number of factors when evaluating loan applications. Unfortunately, Mr. [redacted]'s application was not a match with the stringent credit criteria that we use to determine eligibility. As part of the application review, Lending Club follows an income verification process to validate the annual income a potential borrower states on the loan application. Lending Club requested documents from Mr. [redacted] to verify his stated income. After reviewing the documents he provided, Lending Club denied his loan application because the documents did not support and verify the income he stated on his application. Please note that the pre-screening process and loan application do not affect his credit score, because neither action is reported to credit bureaus as a hard credit inquiry. Mr. [redacted] can access his Account to read more about the factors that led to this decision on the adverse action notice sent to him. Though we are unable to reinstate his loan application, we do understand that financial situations can change so Mr. [redacted] is welcome to reapply for a loan through Lending Club in the future. To the extent that Mr. [redacted] has further questions, please have him contact Lending Club directly by email at [redacted]@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat 6am-5pm PST.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I understand the stringent criteria that you use for your loans. However if you refer to the phone call that you have recorded in which I spoke with ** and a manager. She herself on the phone said they didn't follow the correct procedures. While my income didn't match it is because you asked for my most recent tax forms. I had not yet filed for 2014 so I sent 2013. In 2013 I was making a significant amount more money than I am making now. You guys also kept asking for my annuity and pension income in which case I mentioned multiple times that I don't have that kind of income. As I spoke with this manager they themselves mentioned that Lending club couldn't verify my income and employment. However, she also mentioned after looking closer that my employment was in fact verified along the way. I just started this job in January and the manager mentioned the person working on my account must have made a mistake because they could have asked me for my last 2 pay stubs to verify income. Instead of taking all the correct actions my loan reviewer cut corners and simply denied the application. I would have been more than happy to submit my 2014 tax return once I had filed it if that would have been preferred. Perhaps, as I mentioned on the phone to the manager, lending club finds it best practice to not approve any loans for anyone that has been at a job for less than a year. If that is the case then they need to mention that information so that people in my position don't spend a month and a lot of time on something like this.Final Business Response Thank you for giving Lending Club the opportunity to respond to [redacted]'s Revdex.com (Revdex.com) complaint. Our records indicate Mr. [redacted] submitted an application with Lending Club on 3/12/2015. During one of the conversations Mr. [redacted] had with one of our representatives, he disclosed information regarding his employment status to Lending Club. Based on his explanation, Lending Club requested the appropriate documents that would verify the income he stated on his application. After reviewing the documents, Lending Club determined it did not support the income Mr. [redacted] stated on his application and his loan application was denied. Since Lending Club is unable to reinstate an application once it has been declined, we invited Mr. [redacted] to reapply. Mr. [redacted] has recently submitted a second application with Lending Club. Mr. [redacted] was able to provide further documentation to support the income stated on his application. Due to this new information, Lending Club was able to approve this application. We hope this satisfies Mr. [redacted]'s request for a loan through Lending Club. We thank you again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint brought to your attention by Mr. [redacted]. Please let us know if there are any further questions on this matter. Additional questions may be directed to Lending Club Member Support directly via email [redacted]@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat. 6am-5pm PST.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)Lending club allowed me to re-apply for a loan and gave me the opportunity to prove my current income this time through requesting a copy of my last two pay stubs. Thank you lending club for being fair in the process and for allowing me to re-apply.

on june 5th 2015,I received an email from the LENDING CLUB,for a personal loan,I was approved for $3000,00 with a pay back of $195,00 mo.after going online and looking them up thru the Revdex.com,which gave them a good rateing esp with complaints,so when they asked for an initial payment of $195,00,I sent this amount since the report from the Revdex.com was encourageing, then I was contacted by a mr james cooper telling me that the funds were on hold because I didnt use my middle intial and that I needed to send them another $195,00,I refused and requested my money be refunded,he hept trying to talk me into sending himthe other $195,00 .@ this time I informed mr cooper that I woulb be filing a complaint with the Revdex.com,CONSUMERS AFFAIRS & the ATTORNEY GEN.of CA.then I hung upDesired Settlement I would like a refund of $195,00 and have no further contact with this co.Business Response Lending Club received a Revdex.com (Revdex.com) complaint, case number XXXXXXXX. Lending Club records indicate Ms. [redacted] applied for a loan through Lending Club on 5/14/2015. I was sent an offer from Lending Club with the words "...you've already been pre-approved for a fixed rate, no collateral loan up to $35,000." When I entered the code given to me online, I was told I already had an account, and a loan and couldn't go further. I don't have a loan with Lending Club. Month's ago I checked a rate - didn't like it and that was that - end of story. When I called the 800# I was told it wasn't a pre-approval of a loan, but rather a pre-approval to apply for a loan. I wasted about 45 minutes trying to escalate it to a manager or supervisor. The rep said no management was there or could be contacted at this time. He said unless I had a second email address, I could not go further (I do not have a second personal email address). I want something done about companies like this who make seemingly valid offers to people like me, who would like to improve their financial situation by consolidating their debt. I am tired of getting scammed into responding to offers that are fake. I don't want to remove my name from lists, because I keep hoping I will get a real and valid offer. I don't want a company like the lending club to get away with false advertising.Desired SettlementI want what they offered - I want a loan at a fair rate. I want to be able to consolidate my credit card debt - I pay my bills on time and I have a credit score of over 650. And I want an apology. I don't want them to come back with an offer that is so ridiculous that nobody in their right mind would accept it. I want a loan of an amount that is fair and a rate that is fair. I don't want them to come back and offer me a loan at 33% or something. OR I want them to be sued for their false advertising, or fined, or censured, or whatever should happen that is appropriate. Thank you.Business Response Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to [redacted]'s Revdex.com complaint. I had such a quick and easy loan experience that it seemed unbelievable. I did not believe it until I saw it. I was able to consolidate my credit cards and know that I would be debt free in 3 years. Very very positive experience.

The Lending Club was the worse experience of my life; an utter nightmare.
First of all, THEY sent me an unsolicited pre-approved offer of a loan, which they obviously did predicated on my good credit rating.
At first they requested 3 simple documents, but as time passed, their requests repeatedly changed and increased. Everytime I completed a task on their "TO DO LIST" they would request additional data. Many employees were rude, abrupt, and not once did I speak to the same employee. The right hand never knew what the left was doing.
Each conversation was maddening because different employees had different information. The worse & most disrespectful aspect was their lying. Every time I completed a task, they would respond with.."You loan is now 30% funded".. then 60%..then 90%..then.." You are just steps away from receiving your loan. In the end I was denied based on reasons which were both bogus and information known to them from the beginning!! Lending Club is a futile joke.

They advertise when checking the rate for a loan it would not affect your credit scoreTheir website says checking for a rate on a personal loan would not effect ones credit score. Well I was declined which means they did have to check my credit score. When I went to see the reason for the decline it showed my credit score with Transunion which is indicative of a hit whether it be soft or hard inquiry. I did not AUTHORIZE the pull but merely wanted my rate. There was nothing on their web page to say they would even do any sort of inquiry. What a misleading bit of advertising. I plan on complaining to the all government authorities. In the mean time I want that soft inquiry removedfrom my credit profile.Desired Settlementthe soft inquiry removed from my profile from this company and a letter from them telling me they will not do this type of misleading advertisingBusiness Response Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to [redacted]'s Revdex.com complaint. We understand Mr. [redacted] is disappointed, and we would like to address his concerns regarding the loan application process and how it affects his credit. Checking rates for a loan through the Lending Club marketplace does not impact a consumer's credit score because it results in a "soft" credit inquiry. Unlike a "hard" credit inquiry, which may be visible to future creditors, a soft inquiry does not negatively impact a consumer's credit score and can only be seen by the owner of the credit profile. In order to determine potential loan offers and rates, Lending Club must be able to access an applicant's credit profile. Therefore, every consumer requesting a loan through Lending Club must authorize WebBank and Lending Club to obtain consumer reports and related information from one or more consumer reporting agencies, such as TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax. Lending Club will not process a loan request without the [redacted]'s full authorization. When Mr. [redacted] submitted an online loan request through Lending Club, he agreed to Lending Club's Terms of Use (https://www.lendingclub.com/info/terms-of-use.action) and Credit Profile Authorization (https://www.lendingclub.com/info/borrower-credit-profile-authorization.action) through electronic signature. This allowed Lending Club to obtain his credit profile, which resulted in the soft credit inquiry. Again, this inquiry will not have a negative effect on his credit. Loans originated through the Lending Club platform are underwritten and made by WebBank, a Utah-chartered Industrial Bank, member FDIC.We attempted to reach out directly to Mr. [redacted] to explain the above information. To the extent that Mr. [redacted] has further questions, please have him contact Lending Club directly by email at [redacted]@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat 6am-5pm PST.
