Review: I received a bill for about $100. When I asked the billing person ([redacted]) what it was for, she said it was my annual check up. I specifically asked her if it was regarding my pregnancy because that's 100% covered, but she again said no. So I paid the bill over the phone. I then called my insurance company, and they tell me it was for a pregnancy ultrasound. I called back [redacted] and she tells me Dr. Lasting forgot to mark maternity on it so she needs to fill out the correction forms. About a month later, my insurance sends me forms showing Dr. Lasting has been reimbursed. Of course I need to call his office and asked for my reimbursement since they received it. Months go by and nothing. I call and leave messages with the receptionists and on the voicemail. I call Dr. Lasting's cell and he answers and reassures me I'll receive my money within the week. Still nothing. I call again and their computers are down and can't help me but will call me when they are up again. Of course I have still not heard from them.Desired Settlement: Refund me my money they wrongfully charged me.

Review: - I received a phone call on June 5, 2013 stating that I owed a balance of $24.18. Reluctantly, I made the payment over the phone authorizing a charge of $24.18 on my debit card.

- I then received a phone call on September 26, 2013 from a private phone number. They left a message saying that they were calling from Dr. [redacted]'s office and that I had a balance due.

- I called back that same day, they had no clue why I received a phone call. They seemed really confused. I said that the message had alluded to a balance due, the woman whom I spoke with then pulled my file and said that had a balance of $24.18. I told her that I already paid that in June and have not been back to the office since then so I shouldn't have any additional charges. She said that the person I needed to speak with was "[redacted]" and that I needed to call her back on Tuesday. Why they couldn't just handle the issue that day, I don't know. It is completely unprofessional to call people, leave messages and then send them on a goose chase to find out why they were called.

- I called back on October 4th which was a Friday. I dialed for the billing department which sent me to a voicemail saying that they were only available on Fridays. I left a voicemail and asked to be called back. I never received a phone call back to deal with the situation.

- I received a notice in the mail on October 10th that I still owed $24.18 and that it was going to collections.

It is extremely unprofessional that they aren't keeping accurate records that I already paid. Then they make phone calls of confusion which just goes to further my point that their office is extremely unorganized. Then the audacity to threaten me with collections is absurd. If $24.18 goes against my credit because of their mistake, then I will be contacting my lawyer. I am completely appalled at their behavior and lack of response. I hope they get their act together and aren't treating any other patients like this.Desired Settlement: They need to do a full examination of their records and see that they have already charged me for this. I deserve an apology and if they have sent this to collections then THEY need to have it removed. If it has affected my credit score then they owe me money because that is ridiculous that their mistake would have implications on my personal credit score. They need to get this resolved.

They clearly need to get some new staff to organize this office. There is no telling how many other people are victims of their careless billing errors. They have people's personal private information on their hands and they are doing a horrible job at organization. I hope no one else has had to go through the angst of this inappropriate behavior on their part.
