this person, however this only resulted in attempted fraud against our small business.  We delivered a pair of black-masked lovebirds, indicated clearly on the consumer's invoice.  The customer claimed one died the following day.  Despite the fact that we do not offer any types of guarantees or warranties for live animals, we offered to replace it or refund the money upon being provided with some type of proof that the animal did, in fact, perish.  The customer repeatedly refused to provide any proof of the perished animal.  She sent nearly 100 rude & insulting text messages prompting us to file harassment reports with local law enforcement officers in [redacted] County & revoke our offer to refund the money or replace the animal.   Almost a week later, we received an email with a photograph of a dead bird.  The bird in the photo was a peach-face lovebird, a different color & subspecies of the type of bird we delivered.  These types of consumer abuses are the reason that most people participating in the pet trade simply deny any types of refunds or exchanges for live animals.  The fact remains that life is fragile & determining the cause of death for a deceased animal is nearly impossible.  We hope and trust that your organization will do the right thing and dismiss these complaints.  We would like to know if this consumer did provide a copy of her invoice stating the specific species of the bird she purchased & the photo- as these will prove her claim to be completely fraudulent. Not only were we very polite and reasonable with this customer, but we never once did or said anything threatening at all, as she has claimed.  On the contrary, we can also provide upon request, the information for the local law enforcement officer that had to intervene to end the relentless verbal abuse & obscene threats that she was texting us.  Please contact us if any further information is required to dismiss this complaint before this attempted consumer fraud negatively impacts our small business.
