Today I met with Marian Y[redacted] our on site patient accounts representative at RWJ Rahway. Marian and I looked into the account. Patient had a previous phone conversation with Aergo Rep Mario O[redacted] - as a result of this conversation, Mario removed the patient account from collections/stopped collections proceedings, and put the patient account back on a monthly payment plan (according to records, this was completed on August 16th, 2016). Marian Y[redacted] and I made a joint phone call to patient today, August 18th. We spoke with patient, and let her know that her account was NO LONGER in collections, and that she was back on a monthly payment plan. Marian let patient know that we issued a new statement to be sent to the patient (for her records), and that she should receive this revised statement in a few business days. Review: RWJ Hospital has failed to provide my insurance company the proper documentation to get a claim paid. I have called them several times to try to resolve this issue to no avail.Desired Settlement: Provide my insurance company the proper documentation to get this claim paid.

Review: My brother [redacted] passed away on 10/23/13 and I have been appointed and recognized as administrator of the estate. My brother had an outstanding hospital bill from Robert Wood Johnson Hospital showing he owed $12,354.00 from a hospital stay of 3 days on 3/18/13-3/21/13. My brother informed me before his passing that this bill was not submitted properly in that it had medicare as his primary when it should have been [redacted] The initial invoice for payment was 11/24/13 of 12,354.00 for acct# [redacted] I did not want to have this go to collections so I made a good faith payment of $2,354.00 on 12/16/13 from my debit card. I then contacted RWJ and informed them that there was a problem with how the bill was submitted. They suggested calling [redacted] which I did on 1/7/14. In speaking with [redacted] she informed me there would be a need to conduct a consolidation of benefits with approximately one week to investigate. I contacted [redacted] on 1/20/14 and was informed that I was correct and that [redacted] was responsible for the payment of 12,354.00 to Robert Wood Johnson. Payment was sent and received by the hospital. I contacted RWJ and asked to speak with a supervisor regarding the $2,354 I had paid in good faith on 12/16/14. I spoke with [redacted] on 2/3/14 and he informed me my debit account would be credited no later then 2/12/14. This has not happened. In summary I made a good faith payment back in December 2013 towards a bill that was submitted incorrectly. This is a very emotional situation and the hospital has received payment in full but has yet to reimburse me. This is not right. I have made several calls and have more precise information and names of individuals I spoke with but this should be enough unless there is a need to contact me. I cited the complain against Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. It should be noted that I contacted there accounting dept a[redacted] Can you please help? Thank youDesired Settlement: Simply pay back the $2,354 that I sent from my [redacted] The Bill has been satisfied and why should I have to wait to get reimbursed. I could have simply stated the need to wait until all estate matters were final but took a proactive approach and feel I'm receiving poor response and no compensation.

Review: My daughter twister angle on April 22,2015. Went to RWJ emergency room, after check, no bone break, no treatment.

Only one regular X-Ray taken, billed huge amount of $1788.00 , our insurance company paid a portion, we got $829 bill further.

I looked around ankle X-Ray charge rate , it is only $200 to $300 NOT $1700 that much, some places even charge $50 to $100. it appeared some fraud behavior.

Also, my wife account has repeated bill collection too , some bills we paid got rebilled again.

Account number: [redacted]

My daughter Name: [redacted] My wife Name[redacted]

RWJ Phone Number is: [redacted]

This is too greedy and dishonest, I totally lost trust to this hospital.Desired Settlement: (1)if it is simply a mistake, please correct; my daughter did NOT get any treatment, and went home direct after reviewing X-ray is ok.

(2)if is the way, please do business honestly , RWJ already got huge profit, please adjust price with reasonable local area rate; X-Ray for angle is only cost $200-300, it is well known fact.

Review: In January of 2014 I began researching a facility to have a sleep study performed at. In the process I contacted a few providers to determine the price of the procedure before I scheduled it. When I spoke to representatives at RWJ I was told that they would accept my insurance and that the test would be covered as a long as I got a pre-approval, which I did. I also asked again prior to showing up for the appointment if it would be covered or not and in fact had to postpone it once in order to make sure the approval had come in. Once it did I performed the test and now 3 months later I am facing a $3,337.82 bill.

I contacted RWJ and explained what I was told. They explained that while they do get verification and approval they do not verify if the test in question would exceed the max of my insurance. I counter that this is not a proper level of verification. I confirmed from RWJ that the agreed upon rate they would have accepted from my insurance (BCBS NJ) would have been about $1,730 for this test but speaking to my insurance I was only allowed $500 for diagnostics (of which I was never told a sleep study was - I thought it was an overnight stay). In either case, this would have exceeded my benefit as is and means to me that it is NOT technically covered.

Had I known that I would have had the test performed at a local out of network facility and paid out of pocket which would have cost me more in the range of $2,000. I feel that I was mislead into agreeing to performing the test at this location.Desired Settlement: To that end, I would have expected to pay the difference of what the insurance would have paid with was $3,509.75 subtracting from what they billed 5262.00 leaving me a bill of the lesser amount of $1752.25.

I would also expect them to better their process and inform the potential patient as to the amount that would be billed to the insurance regardless of pre-approval so that the patient could better gauge and compare to other facilities.

In this case I most certainly would NOT have gone to RWJ.
