Roberto's Home Improvement Reviews (1)

Review: I had a house fire on April 3, 2013. I hired Roberto's Home Improvement to complete the work. Through out the work I had no issues with the contractor. On december 2, 2013 I moved back even though some exterior/interior work has not been completed. I was okay with that because I didn't have a problem with the work being finished while I was living in the home. So on december 4, 2014 the final payment came in. I wanted to hold it back, but he stated he needed the money to finish the work. I knew that I shouldn't of done that, but I hadn't had any problems with him throughout the work. I gave him the check and he started to build my bathroom in my basement (which was the last item to be completed in the interior home). The contractor purchased all supplies needed for the bathroom. The holiday's came and went and he did not send his worker's back. I contacted him in January 2014 and ask about the status of him completing work and he said "they were a bit busy, but he would send them back soon". I let some time lapse (about a month), contacted him on March 5, March 6, March 8, March 11, April 14th and recently May 6. No response. I also sent him a certified letter on March 19th and no response. He received the money in a timely fashion, maybe a 1 week or 2 late. As a matter a fact I was the one reminding him to get the work up to speed so we can keep getting the money in a timely fashion. Note:My bathroom downstairs was a verbal contract but we still had enough money to complete this. Plus he bought everything to build my bathroom, so that is proof enough that he excepted my verbal contract.Desired Settlement: What I want, is for them to complete all items on a list that I gave him and his partner (they call it a punch list). My bathroom downstairs, all the exterior work that is pending. I'm not looking for any money back but for them to complete the work. As a matter of fact, if he would communicate with me, I can get him more money through my insurance company because there was some work that he had to complete to bring the house up to code, that was not included in the original claim.
