Mr*** is apparently referring to another client of his as he is definitely mistaken in his response of the event that took place during the initial meetingI, *** *** was in fact present at the initial meeting with my husband, *** *** when we met with *** ***Not one time did he explain the price range that he stated he didNeither did he go into detail on the electronic signature processHe did inform us that we could upload documents into a secure portal for his firms retrievalThis to me is not explaining the e-signature process
As I stated in my initial complaint, I had to prepare and file my own taxesMr*** seems hung up on the phrase that I used to 'plug in numbers' and still not taking responsibility for the complete lack of Customer Service and rude behaviorBy the late response to the complaint it is very apparent that this is not concerning to him

During the initial interview session in relation to the [redacted]'s tax return for 2014, I only met with Mr. [redacted]. During that interview, I explained our completion process would involve sending a client copy of the return electronically via our client portal and with that return would be the...
electronic filing authorization form that requires his and his spouse's signature. He was fine with that process. Without that signed electronic filing authorization in our possession we are prohibited, by IRS rules, from filing the return on behalf of the client. The return was not filed because we had not received the signed electronic filing authorization form.In response to the complaint's assertion that "all they had to do was plug in the number from 2014" I would hope that any reputable CPA or tax preparation service do more than just plug in the numbers. We make a concerted effort for our clients to ensure that their tax returns are accurate and take full advantage of the related tax law provisions. I hope all taxpayers have confidence that their tax preparers work in their best interest and do more than "just plug in the numbers."In response to the complaint's assertion about the fee, we typically don't quote an exact fee in our interview meeting. We instead provide a range of fees, which is what I did with Mr. [redacted] in our initial interview. The $400 fee was within that range and furthermore, the fee is in line with market rates for a tax return prepared by a Louisville- area CPA firm.
