Revdex.com:At this time, my complaint, ID [redacted] regarding Robert's Fence Co., Inc. has been resolved.
Sincerely,[redacted]

We spoke with [redacted] last week and told him the owner would come out to meet him the following day.  He contacted you to make sure he could speak with us.  I received a call later that day and [redacted] told us that he wanted us to come when he was home, which was today 11/**/15. ...

Due to the weather today, we are not sending out any installation or repair jobs.  We contacted him this morning to let him know we would be there on Thursday 11/**/15.   Thank you.

Review: I had 400' of 6' #1 grade 3/4" thick spruce stockade fence installed last year(11/**/13) . In the spring my neighbor brought it to my attention that the cross beams ( facing their property) were mostly rotten, saying that this how it looked when it was installed. On 6/**/2014' [redacted] came out to the house to look over the fence. He agreed that it was an inferior product and would not replace the entire fence but agreed to send his people out ASAP to replace the 12 worse sections. His comment was that it was a "bad year" for Canadian spruce. If that's the case, why even use it??? It has now been 5 months and several unreturned phone calls since his visit and NOTHING has been done.Desired Settlement: I now would like the ENTIRE FENCE REPLACED, not just the 12 sections he said were bad.

Review: Discrepancy on contract. I made every attempt via many phone calls, emails for Robert Fence to adjust the original contract. Robert Fence never responded. By doing so, they voided the contract.Desired Settlement: We did not do business with Robert Fence.

Response:

The contract that the customer signed was for black chain link. On the day of the installation, our installers installed black poles. It takes a day for the cement to dry, so they would return the following day. [redacted] called the office saying that he wanted brown chain link. We explained that there would be an addtional cost to change everything to brown. He didn't think that the word "black" said "black" on his contract. After going back and forth regarding the color difference, the original black poles were removed from [redacted]'s property. They did not think they should pay any addtional cost for the brown chainlink. The original job would have taken 2 days. With having to go back and install brown poles, the job would now take 3 days. There is an extra expense due to having to send out a crew to do a second installation for the brown poles. [redacted] did not agree.

Review: Fence was installed with a defective lock on the gate. I am unable to open the gate and access my backyard. I have called once a week for 2 months trying to get somebody to repair the problem and Roberts Fence has not made any attempts to correct the problem.Desired Settlement: I would like the existing gate repaired or replaced.

Response:

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Roberts Fence Company, Inc. regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

The fence company showed up without an appointment on 2/**/15. No body was home as they did not call ahead of time and make an appointment, so they did not have a key to the broken gate. The fence company left a note and I called them that day 2/**/15. They asked that I leave a key to the gate outside for them and they will return that weekend (2/**/15-3/*/15) to repair the gate. I left a key taped to the gate as asked on 2/**/15 and no body came to repair the gate that weekend, the following weekend or this past weekend. No body from Roberts fence has called or made any other attempts to contact me or repair the fence since 2/**/15.

Review: I had Roberts F[redacted] install cedar fencing at my home on June **, 2015. The price was $4,495. The job included replacing the gate and posts to my driveway into the backyard. The gate that they installed looked like it had been run over by the truck, it was damaged in several spots. In addition, the f[redacted] across the front of the house and the gate were visibly uneven at the bottom of the f[redacted]. I called, and Robert Sr. himself came to the house a few days later and we talked about the issues. He acknowledged the condition of the gate and said that he would replace it, and said that he would replace the uneven sections as well. I also pointed out some areas where the f[redacted] was installed and there was a big gap between the f[redacted] and the ground, and he said that his guys would take care of that as well. He said that he would have his office contact me to set up a date to come back. We shook hands and I figured it would all be taken care of. That was more than 4 months ago, and no fewer than 10 calls to the office ago. The receptionist has assured me every time that she would give my message to Robert and that I would get a return call, but to date I have not gotten a call. At one point they claim to have send someone to the house, unannounced, to repair the f[redacted], but we know nothing of it and the f[redacted] is still not repaired. I have expressed my dissatisfaction with Roberts F[redacted] to the receptionist and made it clear that I just want the f[redacted] fixed, but still no return call.Desired Settlement: I would like the gate replaced and the uneven sections replaced.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I met with a representative (not the owner) of Roberts F[redacted] at my home on October **, 2015. We discussed our complaint and the issue with the gate and the uneven panels. He assured me that all would be taken care of and that the office would contact me to schedule a date for the repair. The office contacted me on Tuesday, November [redacted], and wanted to come the following day. I said that I preferred that someone be home, so we made an appointment for the work to be done on November **, 2015. Due to rain (understandably), I got a call from the office that morning and it was pushed back to November **, 2015. The repair crew arrived as planned, but there was a misunderstanding about the work that was to be done. The crew had only one side of the gate, and was planning to sink the posts further into the ground rather than replace the sections that were cut crooked across the bottom. My wife was home and she called me, and we decided that it was best that they not begin the work until we were all on the same page about what needed to be done. Roberts F[redacted] told us that the owner would be coming out to meet with my wife and I the next day (Friday, November **, 2015) to discuss resolution. They did not know what time, but said that we would get a call a few minutes ahead of when he was going to be there so that we could both be present. Its 2:45 on November [redacted] and we have not heard from him, we are hoping to hear from him soon.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in refer[redacted] to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I have not had any contact with Roberts F[redacted] since November [redacted], when I was told that the owner would be contact me to set up a time to come out to my home to discuss the issues with the f[redacted]. That was after my wife and I changed our schedules around that day so that we could both be available (we both work) to meet with him, because he could not set a time to meet, but we were told that he would call when he was on his way over. We never heard from him, so finally at around 5PM I called the office and was told that they didn't know where he was. The receptionist assured me that she would leave him a message and he would contact me. It's been almost 4 weeks - no call. I refuse to keep calling there only to be ignored. Its no way to run a business, and in retrospect after reading numerous complaints posted on their [redacted] page, I should have known better. My next step will have to be to hire another f[redacted] company to do the work and then pursue the matter against Roberts F[redacted] in small claims court.

Absolutely abysmal customer service.
We had a fence installed at my wife's private practice. There was an issue with the gate not latching properly, so we scheduled a time in the morning for the installer to return, making it clear that there were only certain hours that would work so as not to interfere with the practice. The installer showed up in the afternoon instead of the morning, interrupted a session with a client by knocking on the door when he couldn't see the problem with the gate, and confronted a female staff member angrily, making her quite uncomfortable.
When informed of all this the sales representative was defensive, argumentative, and dismissive, with such choice comments as "it's not our fault she chose to come outside", and "so he knocked on the door, big deal!", and questioning the staff member's honesty with "Were you there? Was I there?".
I spoke to the owner who was actually apologetic and offered to meet me at the property to resolve everything, except that he decided not to show up to our meeting and instead just sent the installer and sales representative that had caused all the problems in the first place.
The gate was not fixed; in fact the sales representative insisted throughout that there was no problem despite the fact that the latch bar had been installed too high. We did not come to any acceptable resolution. The way they treated both their customers and my wife's staff member was beyond unacceptable.

Review: I had a fence installed on July *, 2014 on one side of my house and I had 2poles replaced on a fence on the other side of my house. When the contract was written up it stated that I needed 3 poles replaced. When theinstallers came they said that only 2 of the poles were bent and that I didnot need the 3rd one. I said that that was fine. I also noticed when theyleft that on the new fence they insalled they forget to cement on pole in.I contacted the office and explained this to them. Told I would get a callback. Never received a call. So I began calling back again and starting speaking with a [redacted] about this problem. Every time I spoke with her shetold me she would pass my message along about the refund for the extra pole I paid for and the pole that was not cemented in. I spoke with her onJuly [redacted],&**. I was told everytime that they were coming to cement the pole and that I would receive a refund for the extra pole that I paid for. The last time I spoke with her she asked for my phone number and saidshe would get back to me. As of today I have not heard from her, the one pole is not cemented in and I have not received my refund for the extra pole that I paid for and did not need.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the extra pole that I paid for and did not need. And I feel that they should come and cement the pole in that they did not do.

Review: On April **, 2014, an estimate was written for PVC fence by Robert's Fence estimated in the amount of $3,200 dollars

A week later, I called to sign the contract with $200 deposit. Installation is scheduled for May [redacted], 2014, within two weeks I called [redacted], stating that I had a death in the family and that I would like to decreased some of my fence for future dates. He did changed the amount to $1,595 dollars, still scheduled to install on May [redacted],2014. They showed up, not giving a window when they would, they showed up at my residents at 7:30 am no calls what so ever. They brought half of the materials that was agreed upon. I didn't want them to install 4 sections of 9. They took it back, without a phone call from Robert's Fence. I call on June [redacted],2014 to find out when is the next installation date, one of their secretary said that [redacted] cancel the Job without reasons. I asked for my refund of my deposit , I'm still waiting for my refund and I called several occasions I get no answer I left messages, messages are not returnedDesired Settlement: I gave cash deposit and I want cash refund. [redacted] is bad for business and not a people's person.
