February 8, 2016[redacted] Revdex.com Metro Washington DC & Eastern Pennsylvania 1411 K Street, N.W. Suite 1000 Washington, DC 20005RE: Complaint #[redacted]Dear [redacted]:I received your letter regarding Robert's Home Services customer, [redacted], and her...

complaint against the company regarding the installation of a washer/dryer unit. This letter is in response to the complaint and will hopefully provide clarification.Robert's Home Services was contracted by [redacted] to remodel a bathroom and laundry closet. Although [redacted] had ordered a new washer/dryer unit for the remodeled area; installation of the unit was not included in the remodeling ofthe bathroomllaundry closet. However, I did agree to come back once [redacted] received the unit to install the unit as a favor to her. I made a good faith effort and agreed to accept a portion of the payment for services rendered and a final payment of$I,OOO when I returned to install the unit. After waiting approximately a week and not hearing from [redacted], I reached out to her by phone and was told she had received the unit a few days earlier. She was currently staying at her parent's residence so we set a future date for the installation. On the date of the installation, we went to [redacted]'s place and installed the stackable units similar to the old washer/dryer unit that had been removed. After the installation, [redacted] showed us a box that contained brackets for the installation. After inspecting the box and bracket set, [redacted] and I realized the installation required holes to be drilled into the top of the washer. [redacted] was not thrilled with the idea of having holes drilled into the washer and I was not comfortable doing the install since we did not have the experience. [redacted] was immediately advised to have the unit installed by the company she purchased them from. However, [redacted] wanted to how the dryer would perform with the current installation. We turned the dryer on and it appeared to run fme.Approximately one week later, January 6, 2016, [redacted] sent me an email indicating the dryer shook terribly when she used it. We spoke by phone the next day, January 7,2016, and set a date for the following Monday, January 11,2016 to try to help her determine next steps as the installation was not part of the original estimate and, as a current customer, I was trying to help her determine the best route. On January 9, 2016, [redacted], text me to notify me of a larger problem the water heater in the residence had leaked and caused damage to the neighbor's residence below. I told her I would look at the damage when I come by to assess the dryer on Monday. However, after some thought, I text her back to let her know I would come by sooner to ensure any damage caused to the neighbor's residence could be stopped sooner rather than later. I went to the neighbor's residence and visited [redacted] the same day. [redacted] and I discussed the dryer the agreed to purchase a square piece of rubber from Home Deport to place between the washing and dryer to eliminate the vibration and also remove the plastic pan [redacted] had placed under the washer as it was causing the unit to shift around. At the end of the visit, I gave [redacted] the estimate to repair the water damage to her neighbor's condo and was subsequently hired to perform all the repairs on the neighbor's residence which included drywall repair, painting, and repairing the water damaged carpet. I was under the impression that the neighbor's repairs were paramount and made them a priority. We began the work on the neighbor's condo January 28, 2016 I received the Revdex.com's letter of complaint the same day. In that complaint, [redacted] alleges there has been no communication between us since January 6, 2016, which is not true. I have worked with [redacted] consistently and tried to work with [redacted] to come up with a solution to ensure the washer/dryer unit is installed properly and in accord with the manufacturer's instructions. I maintain the company's right of refusal to install the unit based on our lack of experience and strongly suggest [redacted] hire the manufacturer or another qualified company for the installation.[redacted] was not charged for the installation as it was never part of the estimate and/or contract to remodel the bathroom and laundry closet. The stackable unit could not be stacked and installed as the previous unit was because of the appliance differences and manufacturer's installation instructions. While I seek to satisfy my customers, again I strongly suggest [redacted] hire the manufacturer or another qualified company for the installation.I have attached correspondence between [redacted] and myself to show there have been efforts to communicate between the period of January 6,2016 and January 28,2016. Iwelcome any questions you may have and truly hope this can be resolved expeditiously.Sincerely,Dwight R[redacted]
