Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/12/04) */ In response to the Warranty Claim being disputed by the customer in regards to paint issuesRobertson Bodyworks does stand behind any repairs and/or paint issues for as long as the customer owns the vehicleHowever, we do not warranty issues when it comes to wear and tear or in this case pertaining to rock chipsWhen we had seen the customers vehicle we had explained to her that the paint was damaged due to rocksIf the paint was fading, checking or peeling this would be a warrantable issueShe had agreed that a good deal of their driving was done on gravel roadsUnfortunately we do not cover rock chips as that is a day to day wear and not due to faulty paint or repairWe had also had our paint representative involved and he agreed that the paint was damaged from rocksWe appreciate her concerns and do not take them lightly because we due stand behind our work but can not warranty day to day wear on vehicles as faulty work Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2015/12/08) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) After having the vehicle looked at by another body shop for a second opinion, It was discovered the the chipped paint was caused by the leading and trailing edges of the doors not being aligned properlyAs this would have been part of robertsons scope of repair when the vehicle was brought in originally, we feel that the lifetime warranty should apply in this caseThe leading edges of the rear door panel, to the misalignment is protruding out past trailing edge of the front door cause the leading edge to be exposed to a much greater impact force in the event of rocks or debris being throw up against it by the tiresHad the body panels been aligned properly, the paint would have been exposed to much less impact force and fewer impacts [redacted] Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 9, 2015/12/21) */ There were no alignment problems with the repairs when the vehicle was picked up as all panels are aligned back to factory specifications prior to the vehicle being released, In order to resolve this Robertson Bodyworks would be willing to do the repairs to the paint at a cost split of 50% our shop and 50% to the consumer for the necessary repairs that are required Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (2000, 16, 2016/01/18) */ I apologize for the delay in replying to the business' response, due to the holiday and my work schedule I was unable to do so As the body shop did not respond to my complaints over the course of months and continued to not respond until I opened up a Revdex.com complaint I ended up having the poor bodywork fixed by the shop that gave me the second opinionDespite what the Robertson's Body Shop claims it was not fixed properly in the first place as nothing has happened to the truck that would cause the door to suddenly go out of alignmentWe noticed problems with the vehicle not long after we got it back from the shop [redacted] I would accept them paying for half of the body work that is now completed by another body shop to put the issue to restI can email them a copy of the invoice
