If you are considering Robertson Pools to build your dream pool...watch this video first! The crew member attempts to use duct tape to fix a PVC pipe that he broke with a shovel! https://youtu.be/qAJPdcN2ivI
This is my own personal experience; I have documentation to back up all examples belowI have never been so disheartened by a company; however, if I can help one person, then at least it was not all for nothingI had Robertson Pools build my custom pool which I designed, had sketches and actual pictures to show the sales person exactly what I was wanting in my pool project; I received 75% of what I was told I was getting and paid forThe sales person kept stating, "just trust me; you're going to love it"He kept reiterating that they were a custom pool builder and that they could build my dream pool, no problemHe also could not easily do 3D design renderings but that he lives in my subdivision so he could make sure that the project goes as planned; of course, that did not happened once the contract was signed
There was no 3D renderings to see how the outdoor living area would look from the roof line once it was attached to the new house so the construction team met at the house to discuss the roof lines and how the outdoor living area would attach to the house The construction team's decision was to have the outdoor living area moved over 2'5" due to roof lines so to create symmetry which should have resulted in a redesigning of the pool project due to this change A redesigning of the project would have shown the need for an outward shift of the entire pool project from that 2'5" structure shiftBecause of the careless design and lack of thought, I was forced to eliminate a bar seating area due to it now sitting on the pool water's edgeI was also told that there was no need to redesign that they do this all the time and the construction team was really goodThe employees were contractors not actual company-Wemployees as I found out by talking to themThey just build what they are told to build; the sales person told me that the stone guys would let me pick the stone I wanted them to use and that I would have say in the placement of the rocks
There was no site cledone at all by the workers (as shown in pictures); they barely threw field dirt down before taking off, never to be seen againThe upgraded paver decking that was showcased to us at the showroom site location is NOT the decking finished product we receivedThe stone workers used the flashlight on a cellphone as light while working at night which is easily seen in the pictures I sent to the sales person, project manager, superintendent and owner of the company
Robertson Pools has no pride in their work; when I reached out to the owner of the company, he informed me that he did not need to see the project for himself; he had heard all he needed from his employeesHe was so arrogant that he put this in an email that he sent to me! I told him, "he needs to understand who the customer is and who is paying for this pool?" All I wanted was what was outlined in the agreement done right!
Because I became the project manager and a thorn in their side, my job was pushed to the very back of their projects; my 45-day pool project turned into a month projectThere was no supervision of the crew resulting in several mistakes occurring at my expense while the project manager was never to be foundWhen I attempted to explain to the project manager that the crew used plain mortar on the repair of some coping pieces that got damaged by another crew member, she told me that it was the same mortar...I sent her pictures where one can clearly see that it is a different color and in the daylight, it is even more obviousShe told me, "it will darken and that I need to remember it is new, the old mortar has been exposed to the elements"; to this day, it is still obviously lighter than the rest of the coping mortarFurthermore, no PVC cement was used to secure the PVC pipes together as shown in the pictures sent to Robertson Pools
While my pool was under warranty and I could not get Robertson Pools out here to do the warranty repair that is covered even after multiple calls and emails
Do your research, check Revdex.com and definitely check around with other former clients of theirsThe one thing I learned from this whole experience is to have a lawyer look over the contract prior to signing it and get everything in writing! Contracts are written to protect the company against their own mistakes and employee verbal statementsCustomers need contract language to protect them as well as their investment and money
I will NEVER use them again and am sharing my experience! Not only did they lose a future customer but also one who would have used them for pool cleaning, chemical purchases, etc during the time we lived here

Dishonesty reigns at *** Pools!!! They used low quality flag stone on my pool and sold us on a salt chlorination systemThe stone on the entire pool is falling part and flaking into the poolThey have a one line statement in our contract not recommending not using salt systems with flag stoneCourt filing may be my only option to get them to live up to their promises

~A VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER~ From the interview process with Mr. W[redacted], to the Final Punch List/Turnover, we were pleased with our decision to use Robertson Pools. Having a construction background, I anticipated some hiccups along the way during the build process. I was pleasantly surprised that our issues were minimal and when a concern did arise (because they always will), the Robertson team resolved them in a timely manner and without hesitation. Our pool was delivered on time and the crew was easy to work with. We feel that Robertson Pools delivered a solid product and we are happy to recommend them to our friends and neighbors.

We had our pool built by [redacted] Pools in August of 2015 - and would absolutely recommend them. We offered our sales rep (Zac) the basic design of the pool we wanted, along with general thoughts on the area around the pool. [redacted] built the pool we asked for and also offered some great ideas for the deck area and outdoor kitchen, based on our general needs and wishes. The pool build followed the schedule as laid out prior to signing the contract. The workers were skilled, timely and easy to work with. Prior to selecting [redacted], we began our pool builder search with about a dozen builders; got that list down to 6 companies we actually met with; then finally chose between 3 finalists - obviously selecting [redacted]. I don't believe any pool project can go without issues / problems during the way - with that said, when issues did arise, [redacted] was on the fix or the change quickly and without question. We've since had a few issues (minor) that have needed additional attention from [redacted] - again, without hesitation, and with no expectation of additional compensation - all issues to date have been resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner. No pool project is ever going to be perfect and no pool builder is going to be perfect while building a pool - issues will arise.....we've been most impressed with [redacted]'s willingness to work with us in building a long term relationship, in the days and months following the completion of our pool construction. One piece of advice for those looking to build a new pool (especially first time pool builders) - have realistic expectations going into the project - if you're expecting perfection with any pool builder (similar to building a home) you're setting yourself up for frustration and disappointment; you can be flexible and open to change, without losing control or the ability to hold the pool builder accountable. Good luck with your new pool and pool builder. PS - the only reason I didn't give [redacted] a "10" on the recommendation score is that I feel strongly about people going through the vetting process themselves. This is a very big financial decision and one that you have to live with for a very long time - take your time selecting a pool builder that you and your family can be comfortable with.

It has been over a year now since we signed a new pool contract with Robertson Pools and we still have not passed the final Frisco city inspection. We have been waiting over 6 months now for a handrail and warranty work on stones that have fallen off our waterfall and slide. Poor communication from all levels and poor workmanship. It has been and continues to be a terrible experience. We DO NOT recommend.

Robertson Pools is amazing. I am in the business of customer service and this company has gone above and beyond in the process. From the start of the amazing design wherein Zac listened to our wants and understood our desire to have our pool prior to the end of summer. Labor Day weekend came and we were able to enjoy family and friends in our great backyard paradise. A special thanks to our project manager, Mark who scheduled everything perfectly to get this accomplished while I sat back and watched this project progress seamlessly. They are wonderful when it comes to customer service and quick response time. My pool was built less than 6 months ago so still under warranty and Robertson Pools immediately will send a crew for any warranty repairs that is covered. Have referred already 2 people who have contracted with them and in the process now of building a great pool. Happy client.

Let me begin by praising the the work done by the crew that digs, the crew that installed re-bar, the gunite crew, those that poured the patio and the stone work crew. We are pleased by your work! You deserve 5 stars. Moving onto the plumbing guys is slipping downhill just a bit. I would only give you a 4 because of some sloppy work that is now covered underground and the fact that you installed the wrong pump. Paid for the variable speed but you installed the single speed pump which was corrected weeks later. The construction crew that built the arbor and patio cover were just ok. They are outsourced so we worked directly with them for our punch list. They were easy to work with and corrected all our issues. I still have to give them only a 4 star as well. The electrician, who is also outsourced, worked his tail off to meet our requests. His work was great and I would give him a 5 star rating. All in all our pool, patio cover and arbor are beautiful. Our design was changed slightly and for the most part looks exactly as the design shows. We are happy with the finished product.

With that said, I could never, ever recommend Robertson Pools to anyone. The managment of this company is horrendous and I, for one, cannot understand how they manage to stay in business. Our project began construction on February 28, 2016. We closed the final punch list sometime in October. By then I was so weary I failed to complete my construction diary where I documented the entire process. Several things you need to know. We had 4, yes 4 project managers during the course of our project. Two of them were fired. One was a new hire that came out for documentation only. And the 4th manager showed up once never to be heard from again. (Although we were told she was the best they had.) During our 7 1/2 month project, I have documented that a construction manager was actually on site a total of 9 times. Four of those visits occurred the first week of construction. Four more visits occurred over 3 months. With one visit in the last 4 months. No one will communicate. Everyone told us, "Here's my card, call or email if you have any questions." Well you can call and email all you want. They do not respond. Did I tell you that no one will communicate? We finally received action the day I posted negative remarks on their Facebook page. Really? Robertson waited until I was so frustrated that I had to sink to social media to get their attention.

And just in case you think I may be overreacting and wanting to punish this company....let me reiterate that we have a beautiful pool. But be prepared to manage the entire project should you hire Robertson Pools. Fortunately my husband and I work from home. Fortunately my husband is a certified project manager in another type of business and knows what he is doing. His diligence saved Robertson Pools some very costly mistakes. Fortunately we were able to be there during the day while construction took place. If this does not describe you.....do not hire Robertson Pools.
