Robey Towing & Transportation Reviews (2)

Review: The towing company did unethically and improperly tow my friend's vehicle from in front of my townhome reserved space during the night. I have a permit to park here and am the homeowner. I did not request a tow. They also towed other cars in the neighborhood with permits. They charged 175.00 to retrieve the vehicle. My friend is a veteran who just returned from Afghanistan and came for Memorial Day weekend. This tow company was predatory in that they have not towed in the past on regular days, or even made rounds. They knew residents would have company and went on a spree to collect exhorbitant fees and sneaked about in the middle of the night. As the owner or shop window person [redacted] said,"You don't own the spot" even though I pay homeowner fees and the spot was reserved as long as I own the townhome. She would not say who towed my friend's cars and others. They have not come during Redskins games either. They damaged cars by the way they towed, and even though another resident had her tag in the car, they towed and charged the 175.00 fee. This is a racquet and has to stop. I do not want them in the neighborhood trolling anymore unless a resident calls them. Please put a stop to their predatory, discriminatory, unethical practices. Please also view other complaints consumers have had with this company. I live in [redacted] Subdivision and want them banned from cruising through and making trouble. This tow was not requested. [redacted] even said "if a car was abandoned, they would not have towed, but placed a sticker on the windshield as a warning to move it before 48-72 hours. In this case, they left no warning, and I the homeowner did not request any tow. They are sneaky and unscrupulous. Please shut them down. No one should have their peace disturbed when one pays taxes, homeowners fees and is in front of their own home and a returning veteran should not have this hassle either.Desired Settlement: I want the 175.00 fee returned. I want to know how many other cars were towed from the [redacted] Subdivision today, how much they collected in fees in all this weekend, who keeps the fees, and who the tow truck driver was.

I also want them banned from entering the [redacted] Subdivision subdivision unless a resident has called for them to come and tow a vehicle. I also want a witness when they make a tow as they have damaged vehicles in the process of towing . BY having a person call them, they can also attest to whether or not the tow was properly conducted without damaging a vehicle. I also want to know what fees they charge everyone--is it uniform or jacked up in the [redacted] neighborhoods?? Where else do they patrol, when and I want a list of all the complaints against them to take to the [redacted] Homeowners Association and residents so we can hopefully get rid of these money grubbing low-life unscrupulous devils.

Review: Robey Towing stole my vehicle and was untruthful to MD towing administration about how they obtained/released my vehicle. My vehicle was towed from [redacted] apartment complex. I was unaware of the vehicle being towed because it was inoperable at the time(broke down 2 days prior). When I discovered the vehicle was gone, I contacted the tow company. The gentle man informed me of the cost per day to house my vehicle. Due to other financial obligations, I did not have the full total I was given on the day. I called back a 2 weeks later to get my total and was told that my vehicle was no longer there. I asked to speak to a manager and one was not available. I was told to call tomorrow to speak to **. [redacted]. I called on a daily basis between the hours of 9am and 6pm and I could never reach a manager. I left my contact information. It got to the point, that the person answering the phone knew my voice and said, I have given them your information several times. Finally after a month and a half on 1/4/13, I was able to speak to Mike Robey, the owner. He told me that he junked my vehicle. It has been crushed and he does not know where my vehcile was taken too to be salvaged.

I contacted ** County towing enforcement and they informed me that the tow company told them that I picked up my vehicle. They also informed me that I was to receive notification that my vehicle was towed and where it was located. I never did. The reason I did not was because of the false information submitted by the tow company.

This tow company is very rude and does not know how to deal with customer. The owner is very rude. Poor customer service.Desired Settlement: An apology and the cost of my junked vehicle. They illegally had my vehicle salvaged.
