Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2015/08/31) */
On 4-30-15 customer came in with battery light on. We tested the battery and alternator. the alternator was going out and not charging the vehicle. We changed the alternator and the car was running good. Total bill on that date $320.00 On...

5-12-15 the customer came in stating the check engine light was on and then car was shacking. We ran a diagnostic on the vehicle and it came back with misfire codes in the cylinders and a clogged converter. We also saw the customer was leaking oil from the valve covers. So we replaced one ignition coil, spark plugs, coil boots, air filter, pcv valve, converter, valve cover gaskets, and oil change. Car left running smooth no shake no check engine light. Total bill for that day $732.00. Customer came back 5-13-15 stating there was a rattling noise in the motor. We told the customer that we would have to open the timing chain cover because the rattling was coming from the timing chain she told us ok. Once we opened it we found one of the camshaft tensioners was broken. We called the customer with a starting cost. She and her father came down to see the car and talk to the mechanic at that time we told her the other camshaft tensioner was bad and to replace the timing chain. The customer only wanted to replace the broken camshaft tensioner and refused to replace the other bad tensioner and timing chain. The car was running fine when it left our shop. the bill that day was $429.00. We have not heard from that customer since then. We fixed the problems with the car every time it came in. It always came in with a different problem that had nothing to do with the previous problem. If there is a problem with the car we would be more than happy to take a look at it to see what is going on with it. This is the first time we are hearing of this.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2015/09/09) */
On 5/12/15 all that was fixed was a coil, a convertor and a tune up was done. Nothing else that they listed so that is a lie. The car was not running smooth and the engine light was still on so that is another lie. I was specifically told to bring the car back the next day because they couldn't stop the shaking. When I brought the car back the next day I did not say anything about rattling in the motor so that is a lie as well. They took my car to the back and when the mechanic finally came out they had already opened up the motor without my permission so that is another lie. The mechanic showed me the broken pieces in the motor and I was told if he's gonna fix one side then he also has to fix the other side and I said ok. I left the car there and the next day I received a phone call with the price for only one side. I called back on my lunch break and asked why aren't they fixing both sides and the receptionist said it was gonna be more money. So they made the decision to only fix one side after the fact that I was told he was gonna fix both sides which I had agreed to, so they can't say I refused to fix both both sides because that is a lie. I was also told that I am lucky that it is not the timing belt so for them to say that it was the timing belt is a lie. The car always came in with the same shaking problem and they had no idea what was wrong with it to begin with. The car is no longer in driving condition for me to even bring it back to them.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2015/09/19) */
After we got the customers last response we contacted the customer and asked her what was going on with the vehicle, she just told us the vehicle was not running. We always try to resolve our customers issues. We explained to her every thing we have done to her vehicle and also that we have all the receipts to prove we did the work, along with video with sound for all of those dates the vehicle was here. We offered to pay for a tow truck to come and pick up the vehicle so we can see what was going on with it. It could be a number of things as to why the vehicle is not running and if it has anything to do with any of the repairs we had made we will make it right. But if the customer decided to not have the vehicle fixed to would be her responsible for the tow home. She declined our offer.
